  1. Have you checked the ROM filter in the emulator to make sure that .smc is shown?
  2. It appears that there may be several ways to approach how to install the files and run them through GameEx. By documenting the steps one took to install and load the file within GameEx, what loaders or AHK script were used helps make things a little easier for those that journey behind. I am not really understanding how your response relates to what I was suggesting.
  3. Here are a few images that I was hording for a potential Tron Legacy project - got so far as to create a few bezel files. You are welcome to use whatever you want/need. Tron.zip
  4. Would be great (if Mesk and Adultery wouldn't mind) documenting the install process (where to install wrappers, whether or not files need to be in a folder or can stay in zip file, how to configure GameEx, etc.). I know that Mesk is looking at one way to setup and Adultery is considering, if possible, using .lnk files. Also documenting any pitfalls along the way would be good. I would like to start gathering information so that we can begin building a decent library for most of the common setup issues. Some things we have are nicely documented, others not so much directly but through searching the forum which is a bit time consuming when there are over 300 threads in the General forum alone. If we can all get in the mindset of being thorough in documenting new system introductions and setups this will tremendously enhance GameEx as a whole!
  5. You do not have to reinstall GameEx, just move the folders to the E: drive and edit the drive paths within each emu and GameEx to the new drive:\path .
  6. @ehuonder - How are the logo edits coming along?
  7. I am thinking about backing off on the 20GB in the helmet for now. I actually have a spare 250GB IDE drive (twice the size) that I may use for the 360. I may just put time (as it becomes available) into modding the helmet itself - inflicting battle damage, installing switchable LEDs in the helmet light areas on either side, etc. The base it comes with is nice if you want a "show piece" but, to be honest, I would rather have it sitting on a base of sand and rocks, maybe next to a small ammo canister with a few depleted rounds lying on the ground next to it to give the appearance that it has been abandoned after a desperate fight (where's the owner? Is he dead or alive?). Also considering modding the case of my 360 to match the canister and give it a place on the same base. I designed war dioramas as a kid and into my early adulthood using 1/48 and 1/32 scale WWII and space models. That will mean dusting off those old mad skilz and acquiring some new techniques (may have to actually learn how to solder! Gads!). Definitely a motivator to clean up the garage and build the new work bench I have threatened over the years (and lock up my Dremmel from Adultery).
  8. If you sent a file to Brian, then we will need to wait for him to review it and respond.
  9. A few quick questions as I have yet to see these steps mentioned: Are you running your ROMS through ClrMAMEPro after compiling to the latest update .diff? Are you auditing your ROMS through MAME again after compiling to latest update .diff and updating your ROMS through ClrMAMEPro?
  10. If iRotate has to be used on some games, I would think it easy enough in the starting bat file and also have a closing bat file to start after the game is exited to rotate back.. not in the realm of my experience so if someone knows of a better idea please chime in!
  11. Remember that you can name the .lnk whatever you want to make it stand separate from the other files. That being said, the link is going to point to the required .bat. If that works, I think it would be preferable to running emulator groups IMHO.
  12. Gotta find it first.... seriously. My garage is a mesk. Mod Street Edit! LOL
  13. I don't know you but welcome back anyways! I am sure we will be seeing more of you and glad to see a phoenix rise from the ashes, so to speak!
  14. And I can still use the Dremmel?
  15. Can you provide us with copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files, please? Thanks! EDIT: I tested in my own system and all steps completed as expected so unable to replicate.
  16. Well, unless I do some major carving on my Master Chief Halo 2 Helmet, modding it into an external hard drive case for the 2.5" 20GB HDD will not happen, at leas using the 360 enclosure and transfer cable scheme. Have found a powered SATA/IDE to USB connector, however, that will allow me to do so without having to carve anything at all - will just need to fashion a drive cage to insert so that it does not move about much. I wonder what it would take to add a few LEDs to each side of the helmet....
  17. Try this one! theme.zip
  18. All configurations should remain and, as always, it doesn't hurt to make a backup of your GameEx.ini file. You will need to make a minor change as previously noted regarding the arcade ambiance file path. There are quite a few changes that have taken place since 11.74, many of which impact the Setup Wizard.
  19. So far, AWESOME! Thanks Tom!
  20. Colin - Welcome to the GameEx forums! I believe what Tom (TSpiers) needs to know is if you purchased your arcade cab from a private individual or a company. Regards, Mike
  21. Good news! I am glad you were able to resolve the issue!
  22. Would only be for your own setup since there aren't any db's or lists that I have seen for the newer stuff. The thing is, if a naming convention and docs on how to setup the link files and config in GameEx, it could evolve to a nice db for share.
  23. Do you use a db to furnish game info and file names?

Your "crap" is worlds away ahead of mine (I got none!) and many others! It isn't that bad at all! Bravo! Now build a sweeter one for the old man!
  25. That is pretty much how I setup the Z-Code Interactive Fiction to create a list. I used one of the other database files as a template and loaded the "Displayed name" and the "Rom" name of each file. This allowed GameEx to load the names from the db. Also had to setup the emulator config to look for the correct file extension (you can do multiple so may want to do *.exe; *.lnk as some files may be accessed via a link file. This is the most elegant solution. Another alternative would be to use an application to setup and launch from within GameEx. I have toyed with one program called Game Launcher (not to be confused with the emulator FE by the same name) that allows you to launch programs from a central location. When it launches the program, it then exits memory leaving no memory footprint. To be honest Ian, I learned more from using the first option and it is much prettier. You can also create snaps, etc the same as you would for MAME or other emus following the same naming conventions. Take a look at the db and config for Interactive Fiction I uploaded here within the User Submitted Configs, Map Files, Wrappers and Databases thread. The only caveat that I can think of is if the executable is named the same for two or more programs. That is where creating a shortcut link ( file ending in .lnk) is optimum because you can name it pretty much whatever you want - the shortcut will open the file as needed.
