  1. That, my friend, will require that you load and edit the theme in Theme Editor to change the image and image2 locations.Unfortunately, that will only get you part way there as there is some limitation with GameEx itself as to what the order of load is. You may be able to partially perform what you want through the use of Custom Menus.

Ambiance is a personal choice. A lot depends on your tastes or mood at the time. I tend to like a nice 80's rock & pop compilation when I am in an arcade mood, and then more towards a compilation of vocals and strings when in a D&D or similar RPG game mood.
  3. I have had a similar problem in the past and it is bitrate related. I recommend 44,100 Hz as the bitrate based upon experience. I have also found better luck when converting to that bitrate from an mp3 to wav than when upconverting an existing wav. Try the attached and let me know if it works. I used the Spesoft Audio converter to convert it from wav to wav and upped the bitrate to 44,100. click.wav
  4. Great update! Almost a full version worth! Thanks!
  5. Um, OK. I guess we'll just have to take your word for it!
  6. maybe you could scale them down, then paste them into one larger image within PS?

    Ambience Music

I am a big fan of about any music produced or involving Lindsey Stirling. The girl is phenomenal and is an expert violinist. Her Zelda Medley is great as is the Skyrim theme with Peter Hollens - as they advertise at the beginning of the You Tube video, 1 voice, 1 violin, and 121 tracks.
  8. I have seen a program mentioned on other forums called NoMousy. I am not sure if that will provide you with a solution. If you do use it, my guess is that you may want to set it to "load before" NullDC in your emulator settings. I will ask for additional feedback on this at this time from Frequency and Adultery, or anyone else that has encountered a similar issue.

The Main theme to Skyrim is pretty good. The theme from A Game of Thrones is likewise. Hard to suggest as I don't know what theme you are trying to supplement with your setup.
  10. If you think it may be related to your theme, you may want to zip it and provide a link to it so we can test it. Just from looking at the errors, pretty much the same in both logs. Have you tried just loading the default-default theme to see if the errors occur to be sure?
  11. So I guess the Situation is that we are not getting Snookied by a bot! Tanning booth, anyone?
  12. I recommend the Shark007 codec pack (if running Win 7 x64, there is a companion 64-bit pack that also needs to be downloaded and installed). Others recommend Klite, however, I have had better luck with Shark007 and less problems.
  13. Usually, the site for the emulator itself will hold most answers to get you going. Some of the emulator forums outside of GameEx are a better bet to get the emulator working outside of GameEx first. Once working on its own, the forums here are going to be your best bet.
  14. If only the women would just believe...
  15. Amazing what a little Google action might find... only took me 5 seconds to find the answer (and you were correct, Adultery)!
  16. Will be glad to see some sharing of your experience. As for what makes for an official theme (emulator specific backgrounds, etc.), there is no such guideline. I generally recommend covering for the core background images (MAME, Daphne, Library, DVD, etc), everything else is icing on the cake. I lean more towards minimal background files while letting the logos display for the specific systems/emus. Just a personal preference. You may wish to provide .psd (PhotoShoip) or .xcf (GIMP) files with your theme submission so that the end-user can add to or modify at their leisure any background or foreground images they requires specific to their setup. Full alpha support so far as I am aware - be it snaps, videos, foreground or background images.
  17. Your post wasn't deleted, it was moved to its own thread as this was not the appropriate thread for expressing your concerns. That way any issues you are having can be dealt with without taking the intent of this thread off topic.
  18. Agreed. You've been a member of the forums for 12 days, not sure if you have been using GameEx much longer. If you have need of assistance, then please ask. As Adultery said, there are people here that have been doing this for a while and will be glad to help if your heart and attitude are in the right place. The Theme Editor in its present state is best used for placing items within the theme, setting fonts, etc. Most of the work you will need to do outside of Theme Editor using Paint, GIMP, Adobe PhotoShop, or other image creation/editing programs. No amount of formal documentation is going to take the place of rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty with the details. No documentation is going to give you the creative spark you will need to put together a skin that is going to knock everyone's socks off. Again, if you can provide us with a specific problem you are having, please let us know. You say that you "dont want to flame" so don't! We have some of the most helpful forum members and some of the most passionate about the hobby - which means you don't want to come off as insulting. If you do, I can't fault them for not lending you a hand.
  19. I split out your post to a new thread as it appears that you are having some problems that are not directly Theme Contest related.
  20. O M G - Like having an empty stare is a problem for someone that has a head full of air.
  21. I like dirty dancing with my robot...
  22. Good to hear!!! Will mark this as [RESOLVED]!
  23. When you click on the game, there should be an option "Add game to Favorites" that you can select.
  24. Thanks again to both!
  25. Yes I did. Since I am a member of the Admin team now, it didn't seem appropriate to me to stay in the competition.
