  1. You are correct to doubt! While it would be nice, GameEx already downloads and installs (but does not configure) most of the more popular emulators for you. Of course, as Celly noted, you need to get your emulators setup and working first outside of GameEx, Once working there, you can verify your GameEx ROM and image paths match what you have setup in your emulators and go from there.
  2. Have you considered releasing the theme with a core image base and add-on system packs as you go?
  3. With all of the video file failures I have to ask if you have installed any video codecs? You may want to consider the Shark007 Vista Codec Pack for Vista and XP.
  4. So long as the site you are linking to is not a ROM sharing or warez site you should be fine.
  5. It is a set limit for all. You can do one of two things - either delete the larger files and upload smaller in their place, or see if Tom can increase your limit. The limits, mind you, only pertain to the forum and have no impact on the size of the theme you are uploading in the link I provided.
  6. First you will need to zip a cop y of your theme.Go to the Themes section of the main GameEx site. You should also have at least two image snaps of your theme in action as you will need to add them at the time of submission.
  7. Speaking of Lucas Crap in a Box - the original X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter! Underated, but one of the greats. I call it crap in a box because he hasn't released an updated version that would probably knock the socks off of anything else. Instead, he is taking the artistic squat on the Star Wars movies with some unnecessary edits in many cases. If you are going to edit "Episode IV: The New Hope" then how about extending the scene where Han Solo makes Greedo eat photons and assume room temp? I want to see if Greedo really drew first...
  8. Can you verify that you have the recommended .net installations and DirectX versions installed for your Vista installation? You may need to refer the Minimum Requirements.
  9. LOL! I put the IT in id10t myself some times! Thanks for being confident enough to share your discovery so that others will know where to look should they run into the same error.
  10. Thanks, vsilvalopes! Something I may look into using at some point. Would it be possible to make a modification to the program to allow for changing the background?
  11. I saved a copy of this topic under the Pinned and Hot Topics forum as this comes up frequently. Thanks for the nice work, Druadic!
  12. <shaking head and muttering something incomprehensible> Huh.. what? You don't want the game to show up but you do want it accessible sometimes? Why not just setup a folder with those ROMs you don't want to show in your main emulator population and setup a separate emulator for those that you want available only occasionally? That way, they appear in their own map file.
  13. Not sure either, but in comparing the side art with the front, I would guess it isn't the original artwork.
  14. Note to self: ScratchfRequEnCy off of the Christmas card list.
  15. Psychonauts for the original Xbox is awesome! The God of War franchise for PS2/3 looks like a decent game, although I have not played it. Skyrim is definitely up there for the RPG type games. I have to give a positive nod to World of Goo - great indie game. Simple graphics but amazing physics.
  16. I am lysdexic, what cna I ysa?
  17. If you don't like most 8-bit games from the late 80's then why are you into emulation? BTW, looks like an 8-bit avatar ya got there! I think of the CODs Madern Warfare 1 & 2 are equally the best, Black Ops has a boring story line and online play is crap. COD Modern Warfare 3 has a great, albeit brief story line, but the amount of stock online maps blows and I am not paying $50 to join Elite to get more maps. My COD collection ends here unless they breing back the original programmers from the earlier part of the franchise. I am a fan of the Halo games and they just keep getting better so far.
  18. Other than unlocking a few features that you presently do not have available in the free version, you will not need to start over.
  19. Video tutorials are great - if you wouldn't mind tossing together a solid written tutorial as well it would be a big help for others that would like to setup the same. Links to where to get the necessary program files will also be helpful.
  20. I have always liked the feel of the original wired Xbox S-pads, even over the current 360s. I also have a few Logitech Dual Action Game Pads which are a little simpler, no rumble, and wired. I know wireless is the way to go but can't see a reason to let them go when they have some useful life left in them.
  21. @null - That is a cool feature - wish more manufacturers offered such. For the flexibility they offer I may end up grabbing a pair eventually.
  22. It is obvious the games are not necessarily working fine, much less the views at the OS level. As I noted before, in order to help you, you are going to need to review the "How to ask for help" link and provide us with more information, such as the gameex.ini file and probably the log.txt file. You may want to review the link here and start by addressing getting your image issues working right in XP first, your emulator(s) second, then GameEx.
  23. I am not sure about XBCD other than to say that while it seems to offer quite a few options for those with original Xbox and 360 game pads, not to mention 3rd-party game pads, I am not so certain I want to support something where one of the programmers (or maybe it is the programmer - hard to tell) has no problem starting a flame war if someone asks a question that he thinks the answer should be obvious to all (which in most cases it isn't). Also, it does not appear that the latest version provides 360 Wireless support.
  24. I recommend that you get it setup to run as perfectly as is possible via MAME first. MAME32 is the old name for what is now MAMEUI so all you are doing is using a newer version of the same program. You may want to provide us a copy of your GameEx.ini file. Instructions on "How to ask for help" can be found in a link in my signature.
  25. Also, there is a loader along with the command line you can find here. Let me know if that works for you.
