  1. I am glad you got it working and marked it resolved for you. Welcome to the Forums!
  2. Feeling the ! Thanks, guys!
  3. Here is a good read for installing and using Daphne via GameEx that I believe is still relevant.
  4. It is possible that it might have timed out. How big is your theme? Also, it should be in .zip format.
  5. My first exposure was via an Apple IIC. My first following was a friend's Vic-20 with said tape drive and 300 bps modem.
  6. *Sniff-sniff* I don't know whether to cry out of happiness that "my boy" has released his first theme or in terror that a monster has been created! Congrats and looking forward to giving it a good once-over!
  7. Glad this worked for you - marking as resolved!
  8. It should go to your email that you registered with the GameEx forum.
  9. Can you recreate the crash you describe and provide a log file?
  10. Pretty cool! My first computer was the Atari 800XL at about the age of 27 (1988). About 5 years after its intro in 1983. Of course, doing the math, I now have to thank you for making me realize how old I am.. my how time flies!
  11. I would probably include the most commonly used systems as the CORE offering - MAME, Daphne, Atari consoles, the more common handhelds, Colecovision, Sega consoles, and Nintnendo consoles. You could then offer the additional packs based on manufacturer, obscure system, etc. for example.
  12. Glad you were able to resolve the issue and get things working!
  13. Han - I understand you have difficulties and you are not alone in that. My family is facing its own share of financial difficulties and I have to scrounge for parts, improvise, even "frankenstein" a few things to keep things going. But that is not anyone's business in the forums so I keep it to myself. I get impatient when someone asks for help/advice, sound advice is given, and then they turn around and do what they think anyway, only to continue to complain and whine about it. Seriously, you seem to have a beef with most of anything that I or any of the moderators have to say to you as of late that does not suit your fancy - whether in this thread or one of the others. You may not like what we have to say, and that is fine with me. But you will show some respect and restraint. This is a final warning.
  14. Hi HTW. Welcome to the forums. You will need to provide us with the log.txt file. Please be sure to turn the video path back "on" first. You can find this under \gameex\log\log.txt . Additionally, please provide us with a copy of your gameex.ini file located under \gameex\config\gameex.ini . Please attach them in your reply to this post. Once we have them we can review and provide you with suggestions on how to make it work for you. One thing to keep in mind is that GameEx is going to default to displaying a video file first, followed by a snap. There may be something else at play and your log file and ini file may help. One thing to keep
  15. I am not seeing any errors in the log file from an aborted start. This is because you have the RedEX them installed - can you reinstall the Space Invaders theme as I asked previously? Next, start GameEx, let it error. Finally, obtain the logfile and upload it in reply.
  16. Han - Just do whatever you think is best. It is obvious that none of the advice you are getting from anyone here with knowledge of these things is going to matter. You just seem to "hear" what you want to and not want to face up to the grim reality that you have a more expensive proposition before you. Providing advice for someone that does not want to listen is exhausting and too much like work for my taste.
  17. Uly - first, welcome to the forums and, second, we will need to know a little more information. What OS is installed, type of video, have you installed any codec packs, etc. Then we will need you to install the theme (Space Invaders) that is giving you difficulty. You will need to start GameEx and when the theme stops working or errors, you will need to provide us with the log.txt file that is generated. You can find this under \gameex\log\log.txt . Additionally, please provide us with a copy of your gameex.ini file located under \gameex\config\gameex.ini . Please attach them in your reply to this post. Once we have them we can review and provide you with suggestions on how to make it work for you.
  18. To resurrect and paraphrase one of my favorite Star Trek TOC quotes.. "It's dead, Jim!"
  19. I think you are intent on frying what you have left. Better to stop before you do so, but what do I know. I fix PCs for a living.
  20. Unless NSF stands for "Nasty Smelly Farts" in which case, you can smell them!
  21. I have to say that Adultery is likely on the money. You could try replacing the power supply but likely you are looking at the mobo. Core 2 mobos are not that expensive as it is an "entry level" chipset and mobo compared to what is out in the mainstream.
  22. My wife might disagree with that.. wait. You meant "sound" rips. Nevermind.
  23. Well, you can make your own, google about for some, some ROMS have sounds that can be extracted and converted. I have started using the Tivo sound files in some of my themes.
  24. You might want to edit and put in Cougar Boy which was another name for the same handheld.
