  1. Updated to V1.5 (waiting approval) As release note; Too many companies added to list. Also corrected some names / years to match IPDB manufacturer data (e.g. 'Spinball.gif' is now 'Spinball S.A.L..gif') *** Because of the corrections in file names, i recommend deleting existing gif files in your Company Logos folder before copying the new versions across *** Most companies that made made more than a couple of tables are now covered
  2. It sounds like your pinballx ini file is being overwritten, the only time i've seen that is when not doing a clean shutdown. How are you closing pinballx? (are you just turning the pc off?!) Please also attach your pinballx log and ini (both versions, after your edit, and after 'reset') files. Thanks.
  3. @pindapoe should be approved and available to download again now.
  4. Would it be possible to have another media folder, Table Logos or something like that - which would allow media in the same formats as the Wheels folder and would be used in a similar way, except the Logo if found would be displayed in the Additional Detail area instead of the current Gamer Description text. If no logo is found then display game description text as now. A quick and dirty example.. Now (or if no logo image found) with table logo image
  5. Updated to v1.4 when approved. Neon effect gifs now more flickery.
  6. Thanks for letting us know @vothar, we didn't know about the issue so it hasn't been addressed in 1.7. We'll look into it!
  7. Update on media audit for the next version.. After some thought a batch file to clean up unused media has issues (if duplicate media is found with different formats mp4 & flv etc) the app won't know which to delete and manual intervention is required. So we won't build a .bat file to clean up media as part of the audit function. But, we will be adding more data to the audit , file size info, as well as a 'used' media section to go with the 'unused' section. The sections won't be csv but should be importable to excel as tsv (tab separated), as that is more readable for people who don't want to import to excel. @johnwillsey hopefully the file size information might be of some assistance to you for media comparisons.
  8. Did you see joyriders post in the thread about turning storage sense off in windows? That may be deleting the wheel cache file. See Try turning that off, or post back if it already is!
  9. Last time someone reported the wheel images disappearing the issue was due to low disk space on c:\ drive. Can you check you have plenty of space? See also
  10. Ahh, didn't know 'other' systems bypassed some checks. That'd explain why the xml worked in my VPX system but not in the standard VP system. Thanks for the info. All makes more sense now
  11. Hi Tom, is this a new thing? I don't think i've seen file extensions in VP database xml before either, and i'm pretty sure they're not there in the sample databases you get with a fresh install. And why does the xml work if used under 'other systems'. Might be because of my mild hangover, but i'm a little confused..
  12. Is the new TV the default audio device in windows? (settings->sound->sound control panel), I'd disable any devices not in use at the moment in sound control panel too (and revisit to renable when you get the speakers) If still no joy maybe try a different hdmi port on the tv?
  13. Don't worry about it. This is interesting!.. I use VPX under 'other' systems, when i use your database xml there it works without issue. But when i try the same xml under the inbuilt Visual Pinball system it doesn't launch the table. As logged, no launch under visual pinball system (no cmd line logged) and then successful launch using other system VPX for the same table using the same xml file; 17:34:55.18 11/06/2020: Launch System 17:34:55.18 11/06/2020: Hide DMD 17:34:55.18 11/06/2020: Hide Topper 17:34:55.18 11/06/2020: Not Hide Backglass! 17:34:55.18 11/06/2020: Waiting for threads 17:34:55.18 11/06/2020: Disposing display 17:34:58.59 11/06/2020: Created DirectX BackGlass Window 17:34:58.63 11/06/2020: Created DirectX DMD Window 17:34:58.68 11/06/2020: Created DirectX Topper Window 17:35:18.50 11/06/2020: Launch System 17:35:18.50 11/06/2020: Hide DMD 17:35:18.50 11/06/2020: Hide Topper 17:35:18.50 11/06/2020: Not Hide Backglass! 17:35:18.50 11/06/2020: Waiting for threads 17:35:18.50 11/06/2020: Disposing display 17:35:18.93 11/06/2020: C:\Visual Pinball\VPinballX.exe -minimized /play -"C:\Visual Pinball\Tables\Star Trek The Next Gen" @Tom Speirs Any idea what's happening?
  14. Not tried the database xml, but it looks ok to me at a glance... no rogue characters or anything. You are using the B2S backglass in the front end, not sure if that is a factor here or not, but worth ruling out. In Pinballx\settings.exe go to Display Settings and set Use DirectB2S in front end to No. This will mean that in pinballx the backglass shown will be a video or image file rather than opening the actual backglass file (which can make navigation in pinballx a bit smoother). If you don't have any backglass images or videos don't worry about that now, can be sorted out later. Post a new log and ini file after trying to launch a good table and a table with the problem after changing that setting. Please also post a screenshot of your visual pinball\tables folder (just so we can see how table files and B2S files are named so just include them in the screenshot don't worry about the folders) Thanks
  15. Can animated png support be added as well as gif for media files?, maybe just using .apng as file extension to easily distinguish apng from png files. It would offer better support for transparency in animations. Edit - Apng support added in PBX V4.75. Thanks Tom see https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/25480-heads-up-apng-support-incoming/
  16. Are screens 1 and 2 actually monitors, or are they tv's?. If you're booting up and manually powering on a TV too late that could be an issue.
  17. In PinballX 4.33 using gifs in the Company Logos folder - where no manufacturer logo is found a 'No Image.gif' file is not used by PinballX, it still uses the original 'No Image.png' file. Not sure if this is by design, but in my opinion would be better to use an alternate gif file if found. I can attach the usual files if anybody wants them (but not much use for this issue) Thanks
  18. It might be the colon in ST:TNG (i seem to remember some sort of issue with colons) Try removing that from the table description in game manager or database manager
  19. Are you asking about in game (which emulator) or in pinballx front end? Please provide more information and attach pinballx.log and config.ini files
  20. My take; 1/ Needs more info on when monitors swap. Different between each boot?, during use (loose cable?), or is a screen going to sleep when unattended.. 2/ FP parameters look wrong. You have; Executable=Future Pinball.exe Parameters=/open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender/STAYINRAM For BAM should be FP Loader. Try; Executable=FPLoader.exe Parameters=/open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender /STAYINRAM 3/ VPX tables sometimes not loading, i'm assuming you mean when the table is launched rather than videos in the front end (?). As Mike suggests a log file after a failed launch attempt will help us. I don't use dof but i'd disable that as a launch before application to rule it out (and does it need /play in the command for DOFLinxMsg.exe?, i don't know). Also do the tables launch correctly from VPX (every time)?
  21. See if the fix here helps you; If it does then i've no idea why it'd suddenly be a problem for you and need you to change tables scripts now.
  22. Updated to 1.3. As release note "Added more logos, Mylstar, Peyper, Form Slingers. Fixed ratios for Mr Game and Sonic to keep sizing same for all." 50 in the pack now so that's your lot for a while (i hope!)
  23. when attaching the files please also confirm that the playfield screen is set in windows as the main / primary display. You've probably done it, but it's worth double checking.
  24. Great minds! You already have it (or a version of it anyway then)
