  1. @Dna Disturber Has confirmed that joystick buttons can be used in this section using the format JoyN. Example for buttons 3 and 11 [keys] key=Joy3 challengekey=Joy11 Also worth noting, i didn't need to setup the launch as admin script. For me a creating a shortcut to 'pinemhi_rom_monitor.exe' set to run as admin dropped in the windows startup folder worked. edit - i'd also suggest keeping the leaderboard files in their own folder (rather than in the main pinballx folder, to stop the pinemhi.ini file getting overwritten during pinbballx updates)
  2. The scutters cab, running PinballX and Visual Pinball X; (the main cabinet parts were pre built [i don't have the tools or space for that kind of work], but the guts of the machine is my work) Hardware PC - 16GB RAM, GTX 1080, I5-2500k 3.3Ghz, Win10 Pro Controller/plunger - VirtuaPin™ Digital Plunger Kit v3 (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/22391-virtuapin™-digital-plunger-kit-v3-nudge-and-tilt-setup-for-visual-pinball-10/) Playfield - Acer predator cg437kp . Runs 4k @120Hz with GSync enabled - See config notes https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=45098&p=457901 Virtual DMD - 60Hz monitor. In PinballX i use the stats plugin to display game data & high scores (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/23213-plugin-pinballx-statistics-display/) Backglass - HD TV. For me mirroring the playfield to the backglass is the way to go for multiplayer games so everyone gets a view of the action. I use OBS for that (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/25049-guide-playfield-mirrored-to-backglass/) Apron screens - My latest addition, two 5 inch 800*480 screens (https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/5inch_HDMI_LCD_(B)), I use DisplayLink USB-HDMI adapters to connect these. Inspired by @Carny_Priest (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/16462-update-visual-pinball-mini-dmdb2s-screen-for-apron-now-with-instruction-card-splash-viewer/) but a slightly different take on it, I display instructions on the left screen using PinballX apron screen functionality and the vpinmame dmd on the right screen (freezy is used for the main virtual DMD). For non SS tables i just use a 'free play' logo i ripped off the internet as windows wallpaper for that screen and while in PinballX i use it as a clock screen (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/23450-plugin-pinballx-clock/) So my screen setup is pretty customised!, this is what the screens look like in use (Backglass at top, Playfield lower left, Apron screens middle right and virtual DMD bottom right); allscreens2.mp4 (sorry about the black screen in the middle of the recording for a couple of secs, not sure what happened there - recording glitch) Other 'Toys' Surround Sound Feedback - Four Dayton Audio AEX30HESF-4 speakers provide playfield sound and vibrations using Lepai LP 2020A+ amps. Undercab Lights - I don't run DOF in the cab, but i have undercab lights working from a Lumazoid music visualiser from my front exciter speakers. Griffin Powermate (under the plunger in the picture) - Used as a volume control for windows, can also skip tracks by pushing in. Main use is when i'm playing a table with my own music playing and table music stripped out using Pinsound (https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=41071&hl=) Flirc V2 - Enables me to use a remote control with cab, main use when i'm using PinballX and the cab as a media player (https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/22325-plugin-pinballx-media-player/ PinGulp - no cabs complete without a beer holder!. Mines on the right front leg so not visible in the photo.
  3. Backup and then replace the files in your PinballX\Media\Navigation Sounds folder. That should do the trick for you!
  4. I'd go with Mikes suggestion (well i am already, sort of, https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=41071) If you have an extra system for pinsound studio using altsound = 2 you can still have the same game in your regular vpx system and when pinsound isn't active you'll get the original rom sounds instead. Nice to have both!
  5. Can we have a Restart (windows) option on the Exit screen (along with Exit and Shutdown)? Just a nice to have for the really lazy people like me. Edit - added in pbx 4.87. Thanks Tom!!!
  6. Not a PinballX issue, so not sure where i should post it.. I've noticed since the forum got updated that email notifications are truncated to one or two lines. Can we go back to the fuller version for notifications? (or is there a user setting somewhere i haven't found) Thanks
  7. I don't know a bulk method, like you i just check when adding new tables and then try and add missing files (or just use a different rom)
  8. Your values in shown in pbx recorder log for screenres.txt look wrong, refer to this post for what each value means https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=19589&p=179173, as we don't know your exact screen setup and positions it's hard to say what your values should be. Screenres.txt 3840 2160 1920 1080 3 0 0 1280 1024 5763 0 1 The 5763 should maybe be 1920.
  9. Please attach a copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files so we can check your settings.
  10. I made a small app that can convert an image to a gif with a few inbuilt effects (it will probably work better with logo style images or wheels). (you'll probably want to tone down the effects from those shown in the examples for wheel images - to do that just lower the highlight level % in the app) Better actual examples. i'd still change the timing for use in pinballx wheel to once every 10secs or something (varied slightly so wheel effects aren't synchronised) but you get the idea;
  11. Version 2.3

    140 downloads

    Converts image files to simple Gif or animated png (apng) animations. I built this to be able to quickly add set subtle animation styles to PinballX wheel and logo images, but it should work for any image you want to throw at it if you just want to animate a button or something (don't try it with 4k images though!). The app has two variations of animations, a sweeping left to right overlay/merge (stripe, cloud, stars or check patterns) and a colour flash/incremental change. Install No installer as such, just download the file and extract the contents to a folder somewhere and then run ImageToGif.exe Using the Application Source Image - Shows the image file you currently have selected. By default on load this is a PinballX logo. Select Colour Range - Here you can select what colour range from the source image any animation is applied to. The Exclude option inverts the selection to use anything outside the set range. Image Highlight / Preview Area - This image will show the areas of an image where animation effects will be applied to, or after animating an image to show a preview of the Gif created. Highlight Overlay Options - This is where you select the effect you want, its colour and at what level. Overlay and Merge Highlights are similar as they both produce a sweeping animation left to right, the Flash animation is simply to flash a different colour for a single frame with morph incrementing steps to and from that colour. Gif Output Options - Change the timing of your animation as you want. Buttons - Self explanatory Settings are saved / restored on app close / startup. Examples Overlay - Changing to these settings will produce; Merge - Changing highlight type to Merge; Colour Flash - Selecting a RGB range will limit the area of the image used for the animation, here we set the RGB range to match the turquoise are of the image, and set the highlight colour to Cyan as a colour to replace it in a single frame flash. Note the preview area reflects the selected RGB range. Colour Morph - To change the dark blue area of the image to more of a navy blue in steps, set the RGB values to reflect that area and select morph to incrementally change colour (rather than flash which is just one frame); Alternate Overlays Four types of overlays (used in the Overlay and Merge Highlight options are included with the app, Stripe (as above), Cloud, Check pattern and Stars (or snow, or just noise, call it what you want) E.g. Check Pattern selected; Advanced Use Overlays - The overlays used by the app can be found in the resources folder. These can be amended to alternatives if required. Photoshop PSD Files - The app can open .psd files and apply an effect to a single layer before building the output. This makes selection of areas to animate in the flattened image easier and can be combined with RGB values as well. See support thread for a bit more info / example. This option can be used by media creators, or if you have access to source psd files. Note some images may have issues with transparency if the psd file was created with Paint.net rather than gimp or photoshop. Transparent Colour option - For Flash and Morph options the app has the option to change transparency of the input image (or areas of it) in an animation for apng output. Select the Trans option instead of colour highlight. This can fade an area of an image (or a psd layer) partially or fully (depending on highlight level selected) General Usage Tips Apng format handles partial transparency, gifs don't. Use apng as output format for any image where partial transparency is used on edges. For PinballX wheel images using apng format output use the .apng extension option. For other uses .png should be ok. Building and previewing Gifs is quicker than building Apngs. Tweak and adjust settings where possible using Gif as the output format and then switch to Apng format for the final version where apng use is wanted. Lowering frame numbers will result in smaller output file sizes and quicker processing, but animations may not be as smooth. PSD files will be slowest to process input format. Use low frame count and gif as output while checking settings, selecting All Layers will be quicker than individual layers. Output file sizes can be reduced greatly via online compression/optimisation tools, e.g. https://tinypng.com/ for png/apng . Note that some tools are 'lossy' so check the results. Command Line / Batch The app does have a bulk option where it will process all images in a folder and output gifs to the same folder using the same file name. Options are limited as i don't expect it to be used much (as settings normally need changing for each image). Two parameters (All other processing options for the gifs are as set in the app config [as saved when last closed]); -I="path" - the folder of input images to process (no trailing \) -O=1 - overwrite existing gifs when set (0 to not overwrite, but that is default behaviour so not needed) Example cmd line - imagetogif -I="C:\Pinballx\Media\System Logos" -O=1 PSD files are excluded from command line processing Issues Please report any issues here, attaching the log.txt and config.ini files from the apps folder; Other Notes The application uses PixelMap, Magick.Net and apngasm, dependencies are included with the app. .Net 4.5 is needed for app to run. and thanks to @Mike_da_Spike for doing a few tests for me.
  12. Please also confirm what you mean by lists/custom lists. Do you mean the old inbuilt manufacturers lists (Bally, Williams etc)?
  13. Think this is an issue for real dmd users (i'm not one).. See this similar post; Try turning off dmd videos in game scipt and/or pup
  14. No problem. Thanks for letting us know that it worked. The fix will be included in the next release, so will leave the test version as an attachment for any other users who may come across the issue before then.
  15. Version is fine. As you're a real dmd user all i can suggest is checking this post https://vpinball.com/forums/topic/harry-potter-the-goblet-of-fire/page/3/#post-162377, maybe the note at the bottom from @BrandonLaw is relevant to your scenario. Why you would only see the issue in PinballX i don't know.
  16. I can't check my HP pinup config now, but can you post a screenshot of your settings for this pack?. Just wondering if you have a 'force back' option set where others have 'force on' or something in pinup. (also confirm your pinup version)
  17. I was sure that must have been it, hmm.. Can you try the Media Audit function - does that exit in the same way immediately after starting? Thanks. Edit - Can you also give this test version a go too? (just replace the exe file).
  18. @Sponyx Thanks for the files. Can you launch the app and select VP Table Info straight away and see if you get the same result? if you do then press the same VP Table Info button a second time. Let us know what happens, and attach the log file again if no success. (i suspect you previously closed a child form in the app using the Esc key and then when you pressed VP Table Info we actually picked up on that key press again - in which case we have a small bug to fix, but this test should prove it isn't something else) Thanks
  19. Not seen that issue. What version of PinballX are you on?, there was a fix a while back to set pinballx backglass to the back (after the B2S exe for VP got updated as part of pinup)
  20. I'll investigate my end more later. If no-one else is having the issue then i guess my cache may not have cleared fully. Thanks for that Update; Getting an Avast URL:Blacklist message in Edge. Cleared all caches and retried, same result. Reported as potential false positive to Avast and they have responded "Our virus specialists have been working on this problem and they informed me that this detection is correct.". So i'll steer clear for now. @Mike_da_Spike, not logged in on vpinball to let randr know - but im sure he'll be aware.
  21. Might still be an issue. Cleared site cache in chrome but Avast still spits out a warning and blocks it on login attempt;
  22. You'll probably need to attach your pinballx.ini and log.txt files (after an attempt to launch that table) But to answer the question i do have that table and it works ok for me. I'd double check your vpx file name matches the entry in game manager / database xml. Edit - and as a shameless plug, you might want to try pinballx database manager instead of game manager https://www.gameex.info/forums/files/file/2499-pinballx-database-manager/
  23. Or maybe not! I'm old school, you can't beat a manual
  24. @PinCoop It'll be something Mikes done! Can you post the issue in the support thread https://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/23840-app-pinballx-database-manager-2008280/ and attach your pinballx.ini file along with a zip file of your pinballx\databases folder We'll take a look!
  25. New monitor fitted, runs landscape (not landscape flipped) - playfield recording is now flipped correctly after capture.
