Also for video snap/previews, avi (assuming you have the codecs, eg divx, xvid), and MPEG '1' files should work fine. Quicktime, Realplayer, MPEG 2, Motion JPEG, and Windows Media file will not work. Although you could always encode them to avi to get them to work. Support for other files is not likely to be extended, as its just not easy to do. Hope this helps. (the videos module in GameEx itself supports just about everything). To reencode for 'free' you could probably use the latest 'daily' build of FFDSHOW, and virtual dub. Both available from Sourceforge free of charge.
