  1. Any completed feature requests are moved here.
  2. Ideally I plan to automatically look up the volume label, drive type, or share name and display it when a drive on its own is added.
  3. The configuration application truncates them. I'll look at it. That enables the Restore/Maximize button on the top right of the toolbar. If GameEx is full screen, clickig it will make it into a window and vice versa. Cheers.
  4. Please replace GameEx.exe with the attached debug version, get it to freeze, and post the log. Thanks. Tom GameEx.zip
  5. Does this happen with MAME and all emulators or just FCEU? I notice you saved the configuration before running GameEx in that log, is that related to the problem?
  6. Yes there is, and you kind of short on patience (just kidding ). I just added this information to the docs page. http://tomspeirs.com/gameEx/docs.htm?noc=3232232
  7. One thing I did notice is your creating snap images on a thread. Try turning this off, it could well be buggy.
  8. I cant see anything off hand. Can you please post your log after a freeze, so I can see where GameEx is failing hopefully. Also does the locup happen every time, or under certain circumstances? If it happens after saving the config, check your MAME version. Thanks. Tom.

    GameEx

I cant duplicate this. works fine for me. Post your log when after a freeze, so I can see where its failing. Thanks, Tom
  11. 21st August 2005 - GameEx 4.87 New random game item on Start page. Dynamically launch a random game across MAME and all emulators (excluding Daphne). This is a much requested feature. Enjoy!
  12. Hey Smiff, ill look into mapping all game devices, I do like the idea. Its not possible to do the other thing at the moment. Could you please email me so I can send you a key for the latest. Your welcome to it.

  14. You could try a different and 'recent' version of MAME, and update the list again. Did you go into the screensaver config, and 'update' the mame list? Again, this entire Forum is dedicated to the MAME Screensaver, please start new topics. Thanks!
  15. I dont have any ideas off hand, does the game exit when you press a key (other than escape). Are you using .net Framework 1.1? Answer these questions it will give me a better idea. Note to all. This entire forum is dedicated to the MAME screensaver. Please DO start new topics. Thanks, Tom
  16. If anyone wants to write a tutorial, or any other documentation, thery will get my full support, help and backing.
  17. Also for video snap/previews, avi (assuming you have the codecs, eg divx, xvid), and MPEG '1' files should work fine. Quicktime, Realplayer, MPEG 2, Motion JPEG, and Windows Media file will not work. Although you could always encode them to avi to get them to work. Support for other files is not likely to be extended, as its just not easy to do. Hope this helps. (the videos module in GameEx itself supports just about everything). To reencode for 'free' you could probably use the latest 'daily' build of FFDSHOW, and virtual dub. Both available from Sourceforge free of charge.
  18. Open Config, go to input, click the help button for custom keyboard input.

    Few issues

    1. Did you click next page, they are there. 2. Dont know, it works for me, and noone else has reported it. What .net framework are you using? 3. Because that's how its coded at the moment, until i think up something very clever. 4. Because i have not coded it to do that yet. Nothing to do with config choices that I can see.
  20. Its because your NeoGeo bios is an old version. The workaround is to turn off Verify Roms in GameEx and turn on Only Roms., and update the list again.

  22. Your original post was more fun . Keep what you think next time I dont think these video card issues with 32 bit colour are actually anything to do with video memory, but rather crappy old gfx cards. I say this because I have 32 bit colour running in Virtual PC fine. Which emulates an S3 which reports only 8MB RAM. I think managed directx does not store the Direct Draw surfaces on the card, or only stores on the card when it has memory.
  23. Its not implemented. It does not work for anyone. Sorry.
  24. for visual pinball replace vpmkeys.vbs with the one attached. I have 2P X-Arcade and already fixed this. Vpmkeys.zip
  25. Rob may know more aout video hardware than me, but before you splash out try an go into your computers BIOS, and see if you can increase the memory the Geforce 4 is using to 64MB or 128MB rath than 32MB. Im just guessing but I'm thinking a Geforce 4 even if onboard should be able to support more than 32MB. You dont need a really new card for GameEx just something thats say got 64MB to 128MB RAM and is reasonably recent and is perhaps not a budget version. I cant guarantee it but a decent Geforce 3 AGP card should do 32 bit I would I have thought. Any old shit should run in 16 bit though
