480MB really should be ample for GameEx. I think the issue is more related to your Video card or drivers, you could try increasing the ram on your video card some more. Your system looks in very good shape, its some kind of video issue I am almost certain. Hope that helps a little.

Forgot: Windows shortcuts are now supported for emulators. GameEx can read and process the contents of the shortcut file and launch the exe appropriately with support for map keys.

14th August 2005 Version 0.26 released. When pressing 3,4, or 5 when sound IS on, the game will not exit and re-launch but be immediately available for play.

Sorry, it does not appear to be a bug, its some incompatiblity with your system by the look of it. I am pretty sure its not directly related to the upgrade. I dont know if this helps, but GameEx is failing when its trying to blit in directdraw 'errordialog.bmp'. You could possibly take a look at that graphics file. As I said I see no bug anywhere, or anything to do with something that has changed with the latest versions. How much RAM do you have? You could try setting the 16-bit colour setting, or trying a different graphics drivers. There has been reported issues with newer Nvidia drivers. Tom.

Therve been split up, with five emulator configs in each. There now also located as the last settings buttons. Click Next page till you reach them. Hmm beer, thats a thought.

Please try this debug version, zip and post the log. (It runs slow as its doing a lot of logging. That's normal). Did you update your drivers recently by any chance? You could also try increasing your onboard graphics ram. GameEx.zip

Can you also provide you full log and version of MAME your using? Was GameEx working previously, is this an upgrade?

Can you see if its fixed in 4.80?

You need to extract the images in the root of the folder you specify, not in subdirectories and not in a zip. I think thats your problem. The box art etc can be viewed after selecting the game in GameEx. Assuming everything setup right you should see them on that page, below where it says play this game. You dont need launchbefore.bat its just there for example purposes for the launchbefore feature that allows you to run programs or scripts before GameEx runs the game. Dunno about screeenshots, I got mine from crashtest. It was a pain do download each file, but I think he has a torrent available now. Tom

Thanks for the feedback MAMu_, it was great to get someone of your stature making the first post. 3 is actually implemented now in 0.25. It does actually close down the game and reload it though, this so if games sound was turned off it will be on. Cheers, Tom.

13th August 2005 Version 0.25 released. Now hides the taskbar, completely hiding windows. New setting to have or not have sound in games. Pressing 3,4, or 5 on the keyboard will exit the screensaver and then launch the last game for playing.

Can you go to the start menu, the gameex program group, and select run last game. See if it runs. If it does not its not a GameEx issue but a MAME32 issue. You've probably got bad roms, although with the default options GameEx should have filtered these out when updating the list. GameEx and MAME32 dont come with any games. Where did you get them from?

How exactly is it no working, what exactly happens? Do any MAME games work? Sorry, there is no step by step guide, perhaps someone will write one some day. GameEx is mostly a one man band (me), and I have not had time to document everything completely. I certainly welcome people who want to help out though.

Check the Following. 1. What MAME are you using, if using a 32 version try command line. 2. Do you have anything in the launch before, after etc? 3. Do you have Start /Wait turned On/Off. Try it. 4. Please go into the Config, Go into any section, and 'save' then run GameEx and post the log. 5. What controller are you using? 6. If your not using a GamePad make sure its turned off Let me know when you've had a chance to check those out. Cheers.

I think most will agree that gamelauncher is best used with rom and map files. I know first hand how much of a pain they can be to make. There are lots of little tricks you can do to make it easier, but that doesn't help everyone. So, I decided to make a simple program to do it for you. It can be downloaded here http://atlas.walagata.com/w/yatzr/DRMFC.zip If you get the chance, please try it out. Make sure to read the txt file included. I used it recently when I reformatted my emulation box and it saved me a ton of time. If you use gamelauncher for emulators other than mame, this should be able to help you out. Greg DRMFC.zip

Its specified in the theme.ini file. I dont know why it was there. I've removed it for the next release.
