  1. Which version of the .net framework are you running?
  2. Are you saying its a GameEx issue?
  3. Well, my new cab is nearly setup. Purchased it from Arcade Warehouse (UK) The monitor has faults, but I was able to nearly correct it with the adjustment controls. They told me the cab was made in the late nineties but there full of shit, as it looks like its from 91. They did get me a 6 button cab, but one button had no connectors, and the extra buttons were mapped to the first three. The controls were also 'really' shit, so I bought an X-Arcade which luckily fits nicely. They also shipped it without a key for the back, although they did post it when I told them. When I rang them about the fault with the monitor, they told me they had tested it, which I find hard to believe. They put me through to there tech guy who helped me find the Horizontal Linearity adjustment. I got a 98% picture with this but theres deffinitly a fault with the monitor. Andy from Ultimarc confirmed it was a monitor issue. Overall I guess thats what you expect from a second hand JAMMA cabinet, but service from Arcade Warehouse was just average. I would'nt say dont use them if your in the UK as they can source JAMMA Cabs, but just dont have high expectations, and be prepared to do extra work on it. Ill post pics shortly. I have a question though for Arcade-X users though , is there any shifted control for Escape? What do poeple do? Cheers. Tom
  4. Thanks Rob. Do you notice any improevement in Startup time in the latest version? The Back button functionality was supposed to have been there since the start. I guess it was only working on some MCE remotes, perhaps just European ones or something.
  5. Can you double check there is no log at all. If it gets to loading screen. There must be a log. Let me know.
  6. 27th July 2005 - GameEx 4.69 Quicker start-up time. Works with more older video cards. Now runs on VMWare and Virtual PC. 25th July 2005 - GameEx 4.68 More code speed optimizations Updating MAME list now also quicker.
  7. You need to turn off MAP Keys. You wont be able to use the Back Button on the MCE Remote.

    help with psx

Rob, if you have no motivation to work with me on this, its totallly fine, I can still do it no problem, I just thought you might get a kick out of it. Cheers. Tom
  9. Thanks for the advice Rob. I'll give it a try. My previous tests did not work, however I am using non-exclusive for full screen now too since the custom controls were implemented (needed for web apps to work). This could lead to some cool features. Cheers.
  10. Hi Night, Yes I did get your PMS. And yes just like the others. Cheers Night!

    help with psx

Hi Rob, I think I would like to include a launcher.exe or generic wrapper much like your application already, with GameEx to tackle some of these problems weve talked about. Would you be interested in coding this initially, or working with me? I really would like it vb.net or c# thats the only thing. This would be passed paramaters to handle waiting for processes to exit, and handling the map keys functions, for when not directly launching an exe. e.g for batch files and lnk files. I dont think I want to add this functionality directly into GameEx config, as I think its already complicated enough for noobs setting up emulators. I also see it as more and advanced tool for people like yourself, or for people like yourself helping others say setup epsex. We can also document it for newbies. What do you think?
  12. Whats it worth to you ? Just kidding! I am thinking this should also apply to anything launched from GameEx, to be completly effective? Only issue is while its possible to detect keyboard input, its not possible to detect joystick input. So while someones playing a game, it could exit on them.
  13. Hi all, I will soon be implementing a feature to play a randon game across MAME and all systems. This will be on the Start page. I am looking for a logo for this feature. I am thinking something that will be like a cool collage of diferent systems. Although does not have to be. Anyone interested in helping out the project? Cheers, Tom
  14. Hi, ill be adding functionality to do a customizable Start Menu. This will be possible then.

    Audio Update

Delete it from the Windows Media Player Library.
  16. Yes, you raise some good points. I am looking at startup time. I did stop the icons being recreated every hour in the last version. On my systems, after the first run from cold its generally pretty quick, a few seconds now. Maybe thats because Windows cached it? Startup time is also to do with the .net JIT compiler. Which starts compiling a lot of code when GameEx starts up. I am looking at things I can do, but dont have too high hopes. Cheers. Tom
  17. I do like the suggestion. However have you tried Powerstrip? I'd say any PC running on a TV needs this software installed.
  18. I actually had a pause there on purpose for HideOS.exe. I've shortened it now. Unfortunatly the emulation validation is required, as it turns off features if paths and values are not correct.

  20. By the way, that fix is in the latest version 4.66 so just try that. Cheers.
  21. The game launching and exiting improvements could cause problems, where emulators or GameEx dont have time to shut down properly, I am still waiting for reports on that. Looks good so far though. The latest optimizations in 4.66 are just optimization to .net code, ther should be no drawbacks, unless I messed up something.
  22. Sounds like you have the perfect arrangment there! Just kidding
  23. 24th July 2005 - GameEx 4.66 - Faster and smaller. Optimisations to memory usage and performance. GameEx really should run fine on older systems If it does not there is likely an issue with software/hardware. Some graphics tests results: I had full speed on an athlon xp 1700+ with a 16MB PCI NVidia TNT 2 card. I have nearly full speed on a Pentium III 800 Mhz with onboard Intel 4MB Card, when GameEx in a window at 640 X 480. Both running in 16 bit colour though, due to the low video memory. Install no longer re-enables DVD and videos.
  24. From now on it wont reenable them. The Language is still set though. This is necesary for our foreign cousins.
  25. Heres our regular Night`s first theme. I say first as I hope to see more . This theme also contains a lot of good logos, night kindly did, that you can use with other themes if you wanted to. Night is also working on some backgrounds for various emulators. I hope to work with him soon and add support for GameEx to have different backgrounds for different emulators. Its actually me that's holding thing up on this. Keep on the forums for more news. http://uploads.tomspeirs.com/files/Default...20Theme%201.zip Install to your themes directory. Normally C:\program files\gameex\themes Thanks Night! Tom.
