Because I'm playing around with the new MNG support, and did not want to compile, I got the latest intermediate build of MAME32FX. I have not looked at whats special about this build, but it seems to load games literally instantanously, and I mean literally. You should check it out. Tom.

2nd September 2005 - GameEx 4.98 GameEx will no longer install if .net framework 2.0 (Beta) is installed. This will hopefully involve less support queries, and needless bug reports. Experimental command line option, to create .mng videos for all MAME parent games. -createvideos The created videos can of course be previewed in GameEx, but at the time of writing be aware MNG support in MAME still has a few issues. I'm really hoping come MAME 1.0 this will be an awesome feature for a front end.

That's your problem, and thank you so much for tellling me that, I never knew what caused this problem, and now i do. Time to make GameEx not install if 2.0 is installed. Thanks again, but as for your problem, i would uninstall 2.0 install 1.1 SP1, until 2.0 comes out of Beta, and all the bugs are fixed, such as this one. Just for newbies: Beta does not mean cool, exciting and new. It means buggy, 'i'm releasing this to save paying for people to test it, but you cant complain because its Beta and not officially supported'.

1st September 2005 - GameEx 4.97 New Advanced MAME setting to bypass disclaimer and warning screens. Updated MNG/Snap Video player. Should hopefully fix issues with GameEx closing when launched from Media Center. OK, it could be the 2.0. Other thing is to try running at a lower resolution to see if that helps, at lest just for the moment.

You could experiment with Vsync and sleep settings under Tweaks/Performance. It may well be Gamex is now running a lot faster since you last upgraded. There were a lot of optimizations since 4.07. Thanks. Tom

Its not possible at the moment through GameEx, but GameEx gets this is info from history.dat and mameinfo.dat. You can create you own versions of those. Yourll need to update the list again if you change them.

Please overwriste GameEx.exe (c:/program files/gameex/gameex.exe) with the one in the attached zip file. See if thats any better. Make sure you do overwrite the file though, and dont extract it somewhere else. Thanks, Tom GameEx.zip

In addition, are you using a non english version of Windows or similar?

Are you absolutely sure its Mnger doing that? Try replacing these files in the MNGER directory, see if it helps. (You dont need PlayVideoBak.ddl) bindx9.zip

OK, to find this little bugger. Do this: Go into GameEx.ini in the config dir. Search for Windowed Change Windowed=False to Windowed= True Replace GameEx.exe with the one attached. Run it Let me know what happens, and post the error. If theres a detail button when the error shows, click it and tell me what the text says. Thanks. GameEx.zip

Thats strange I thought that was fixed in 4.95. Can you unintstall, delete the program files\gameex directory. And then go ahead and install 4.96, just uploaded. Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is reinstalling the latest version of DirectX. There were changes to the video playing code in latest versions of GameEx but I cant think why it would have the affect you mentioned. I just uploaded 4.96. It might fix it for you. Give it a go.

Does it work normally if you dont press 1?

I was talking about the loading screen. You can customize it to a different image. You cant change the loading time though, without the nag screen it just loads as quick as it can.
