  1. Those look awesome! I especially like the way that you've doubled up on the game images.
  2. You've been hitting some of my favorite tables lately Namsan! Merry Christmas to me, LOL! Thanks again.
  3. To the man who continually gives back to the community as if it was our birthday, I (slightly belatedly) wish you the absolute best of birthdays. Here's to yet another fantastic year spinning around on this big ol' blue marble!
  4. Happy (belated) Birthday to an essential member of our community! I hope it was an epic birthday filled with legendary gaming conquests and bountiful loot!
  5. Congratulations DazzleHP! You are truly an amazing member of this community. I'm extremely proud to call you a teammate and friend!
  6. Thanks for the awesome update Adultery! I absolutely love this plug-in, both for the flexibility and ease of use that it affords. Keep up the fantastic work!
  7. Wow, these look great Namsan! Well done!
  8. Well first a disclaimer, I've only ever used Meka for emulating Sega systems, and even then I transferred over to Fusion. So at least in terms of configuring the emulator itself, I'm going to direct you here. (That particular tutorial is for Sega systems, but I have to assume that ColecoVision configuration would be similar. I believe that's the same guide I used when I set up Meka - many moons ago). In terms of the ColecoVision controller itself ... ugh ... the design of that controller hails from an unfortunate era in home video game consoles in which designers thought it would be a great idea to pattern controllers after touch tone telephones. Yuck. I'll say right up front that Xpadder (which is my personal favorite when used in conjunction with Adultery's Xpadder plugin), Pinnacle Game Profiler, or other similar controller mapping software is going to be practically essential for this purpose. In practice what this means in terms of configuring your controllers is that it's very difficult to map a "touch-tone telephone" type of controller to another type of controller (i.e. your Xbox 360 controllers) and have it feel right, particularly so if you're attempting to devise a universal configuration that will feel right for every game. Due to the fact that some games use every button on that unwieldy controller, and some of them only use one, I often find myself making several game specific configurations in order for games to play in a way that feels proper. This is where the combination of Xpadder and Adultery's plugin come in exceedingly handy, being that the plugin will allow you to create game specific controller configs, and launch them automatically through GameEx. If Meka continues to be a headache, I can recommend ColEm as a solid ColecoVision emulator on the basis of quality emulation, although I must confess that I've never attempted to integrate it into my GameEx setup due to the problems described above.
  9. Vic20 is not a system I emulate currently (blasphemy!), but I think I may have spotted the issue. It looks like there are actually three Vic20/WinVice configs you can import through the Setup Wizard. There's this one: [PC] Commodore VIC-20 (WinVice) And there's also this one: [PC] Commodore VIC-20 (There's also a third listing called [PC] Commodore VIC20 (WinVice), but as near as I can tell, that one is identical to the first one listed here.) FWIW, I think Flash is recommending that you select the second one listed here.
  10. Hi boiydiego Did you write that AHK script or was it someone else? If you're the author, it should be completely arbitrary to add a Sleep command or even a WinWait directive (which might be preferable TBH) to your script. If you didn't write the script and the code talk feels intimidating, I would advise you to contact the author of the script. It's your AHK script that's causing problems for PinballX, not the other way around.
  11. Hi Lighty Could you do us a couple of favors? Could you please turn on debug mode in the Virtual Drive Loader Plugin? It's the check box seen here in the bottom left: (You'll need to reload a game through GameEx again for the contents of the log file to refresh). Also your Virtual Drive Loader settings look ... weird. It should be an XML file. Would you mind opening that file with notepad and re-pasting the contents here? FWIW, I'm not so sure there's something necessarily wrong with the plugin (I've been using it without issue for quite a long time). In your case it does appear that disc images aren't being mounted, but there's definitely something I'm overlooking here. At any rate, that's why I referred you to the master of this particular castle. Best batting average in town!
  12. Happy Birthday AcidBrain! We've been missing that big beautiful brain! Hope your birthday is completely epic!
  13. Yep, just to clarify; in this situation you can consider GameEx as the server application in terms of accessing your information through GameEx Online. In other words if your "server" (i.e. GameEx) isn't running you can't access any information on the server (i.e GameEx). Well sorted gents!
  14. Hi flocke28 In regards to your video issue, please post your support files so we can get a better idea of what's happening in your environment. Have you changed anything with your codecs lately? The Weather issue is unfortunately a known issue, but the good news is that Tom is looking into it already.
  15. Hi Sergio1968 Your comment is not very descriptive of what the actual problem is. Can you expand a bit on what you mean? Are you not able to download the new version from gameex.com? I pretty much always update using the installer downloaded from the website.
  16. This is HUGE! Thanks so much to you Tom, and to the entire team that's had a hand in this release. This truly is an amazing preview of the great things to come in Evolution, and it's quite a Christmas gift to have it now. Just. Awesome.
  17. Hi Crippius, We're always very grateful when multilingual users help to improve language translations in GameEx. Here is a brief tutorial that might help to get you started: User Submitted Translations, Plugins, Radio and News URL's Several of the translations in that thread have been included in the release version of GameEx, and I believe I speak for everyone when I say that we're always very grateful for this type of contribution! If you do update the translation, please upload it to the above thread. It would also be a good idea to send Tom a PM letting him know you've made updates to the translation. Good Luck! Let us know if you have any questions.
  18. Honestly my recommendation is to avoid ECM disc image formats for the purposes of emulation (purely an opinion mind). This thread provides a great illustration of why I make that recommendation. Truly one of your best bets to simplify the configuration of disc based emulators is to keep all your disc images in the same format. You'll save your self a ton of headaches in the long run. I generally verify my sets with ReDump DATs, or alternately TOSEC using a tool like RomCenter. This last part isn't required by any means, but it sure helps to keep your sets tidy and buys some peace of mind as well.
  19. I would leave your disc images in sub folders, for the purposes of organization. Using this method of organization you would change the Scan Sub Folders setting found on the Advanced Emulator Setup screen to Yes. Now we need to address the problem of duplicate entries in your ROM list. We will manage this using the Rom Filter setting found on the Emulator Setup screen. Using the example you gave above you would enter *.img into the Rom Filter screen. For better or worse though it's not uncommon for users to be using several different image formats, so you'll need to analyze whether this is the case for you. Other common disc image formats include *.cue, *.iso, etc. Edit: Ha, looks like I was back and forth from the keyboard a few too many times. Ninja'd!
  20. Great! Glad to hear that you got it solved.
  21. I've noticed this happening before as well. It probably has something to do with the memory cache. It's always righted itself for me when I reboot GameEx.
  22. Hi ty949! I split your post from this thread, since ... uh ... it was a pretty random spot for this question. At any rate, this is a pretty broad question and a good starting point would be to ask what specific emulator you'd like to setup first? Or more specifically are you interested in setting up MAME first, or are you more interested in giving it a go with a console emulator?
  23. Glad to hear you figured out the issue! Happy gaming,
  24. GOG Galaxy is the integrated GOG game client that's been in the works for quite some time now. Back in October they promo'd a free game to assist in beta testing the online multiplayer functionality for Galaxy. Well as of last week they're releasing an early alpha version of the client itself for closed testing: Source This is great news for fans of GOG as well as anyone with a growing GOG library (and after almost a full month of sales, well ... guilty as charged). So what say you? Do we have any brave early adopters in the house?
  25. Congratulations on this well deserved promotion gStav! Thanks for your many awesome contributions to PinballX!
