Have you tried using the Keys to Send setting? You should be able to send that key combination to the emulator upon start up. FWIW, in this case you would enter %{ENTER} as the key combination to send. This setting is often used in combination with the Wait Before Keys setting which, surprise surprise, waits a specified number of milliseconds before executing the Send Keys command. This wait is specified in milliseconds, so 1000 = 1 second. You may need to tinker a bit with the timing to get it right. I would start with a higher number than you actually need and adjust downward from there.

The game popup description will only be displayed for those games that are matched to a corresponding database entry for the system you're browsing. You can edit the databases if you wish to do so, which will likely have an impact on this behavior. If you opt to make edits to your databases, the current recommendation is that you edit the .mdb database, and rename the .db3 to an alternate name. If you edit the .db3 database it's entirely possible that your changes would be overwritten when the database is updated. Editing the .mdb database is preferable since those databases are no longer being updated. It's also important to note that the behavior of the game info popup can also be edited in your theme settings using the Theme Editor.

That's awesome! I know a lot of people are skeptical about where Disney will take the franchise, but TBH I've been thrilled about the choices they've made thus far. OK I was considerably less than thrilled that they killed The Clone Wars without a proper send off, but I can understand why they did so. (But, but ... Hi UltimateLink and Welcome! As Adultery pointed out, GameEx will utilize your network for various tasks, and the ports used may vary depending on what functionality and plugins you have enabled. There are definitely some alterations that you can make to your settings that will help to minimize network reliance though. Automatic Artwork download, and Steam support (as well as EA Origin, and uPlay) spring immediately to mind.

I'm the same way except where it comes to gaming keyboards. For everyday typing and (particularly) software development, gimme that beautiful Natural Ergonomic layout. But when it comes to games (particularly with WSAD controls) I'll take the standard keyboard layout every time. Weird I know.

Well that's quite the reversal! OK this time it actually worked with the Steam game, but not when I ran a standard emulator! The behavior is the same though regardless. So I start GameEx and start up a game. While the game is running I can Alt+Tab over here and see that my gamer tag displays as I would suspect (namely this image is displayed as the game snap). When I exit the game, I can jump back over here and all is still well. But when I exit GameEx, the text of the tag is still correct, but the game snap changes to my 'No Image Found' image as it is currently displayed. As I mentioned it actually worked via Steam this time around, but not when I ran Nestopia. Let me know if there's any additional helpful info I might provide, and I'll do so.

Heh ... Dude hopefully this isn't a me dumping it on all at once, but I actually noticed a problem with my Game Tagger today as well. The issue seems to be with the game image displayed in the tag. Whenever I play a game through Steam the image in the tag is displayed as the 'No Image Found' image. The weird part is that when I'm actually in game, the tag displays the appropriate image. It's only when I exit the game that the tag reverts to No Image Found. I did verify that I have all the applicable artwork (and double checked my GameTagger profile to make sure it was propagating there). As far as that goes everything seems on the up and up. Actually ... the system requirements for DICE are quite a bit more hefty than you might expect. Having said that, I think the build's proposed in this thread should be able to run Pong without issue.

This was my first thought as well. Then if you wanted that single game to still appear as part of a larger game list, you could use the Emulator Groups feature.

In defense of kwagner101, I believe he actually did post his gameex.ini. My settings file looks like his insofar as the [gameexonline] section appears before the [general] section. @kwanger101: Would you kindly try disabling the Verify ROMs setting on the MAME Settings screen to see if that makes a difference? You'll want to rebuild your MAME listafter having done so. It would also be helpful to post a copy of your log after running GameEx with adjusted settings. You can find the contents of your log file by going to Start Menu > Program Files > GameEx > Utilities> Log File or by navigating to ...\GameEx\LOG\log.txt.

Deleting your cached emulator data is definitely worth a shot. Sometimes making a number of changes to your ROM directory can cause the cached data to become out of sync (in my experience at any rate). If your ever curious to see the exact names that GameEx is using for matching purposes you can take a look at the databases located in the...\GameEx\DATA\EMULATORS directory. If you're not sure how to view those databases, this thread may be of some assistance.

I recently bought a 32GB Memory Stick Pro Duo MagicGate memory card from eBay for use in my PSP. (I know there are effective alternatives to using Sony's proprietary cards, but if the alternatives aren't MagicGate compatible the transfer speeds aren't even half of what the official hardware would be) Any hoo, I was ordering from China and I knew that I'd be taking my chances as to whether I was getting actual Sony merchandise or counterfeit crap. Turns out that it was the later. My PSP had errors the first two times it attempted to format the card, and when it finally did format, the MagicGate functionality wasn't recognized. I contacted the seller directly telling him that there was some overwhelming evidence that the card was counterfeit. At first he offered to split the cost with me (not including shipping), but honestly I wasn't having it. I told him that I'd like a full refund and he complied. It really does go to show that most of the time it's a lot easier to deal with the seller directly than it is to try to go through the official channels to seek a refund.

I think it's pretty neat MNMax. I always thought it would be kind of neat to have a theme that incorporated elements of the time period for which each corresponding system was popular. I think your theme is very much in keeping with that line of thought. Nice job! There are a couple areas I'd clean up a bit (there's a black bar in the lower left corner, some jaggies around the TV screen, and a very slight black bar under the Atari poster), but overall I think this is a really neat concept, with a solid vision. Nice work!

Another great tool for this purpose is Revo Uninstaller. Upon uninstalling a program it will scan the registry for likely looking keys associated with the program. It will also scan some other common areas for artifacts, such as the AppData folder and whatnot. It's one of a small handful of utilities that goes on every single Windows machine I own.
