I just did a reboot out of curiosity, and guess what - the Game Specific box is back to unchecked. I don't think it is saving, which would explain why the individual profiles that i normally use aren't being loaded.
-
I did check the box yes that's how i know it still remembered my profiles. Also, once i check the "Specify Game Specific Options" box, not only are the right profiles with the games, the check box next to them is also enabled automatically. I PM the settings now.

Plugin isn't working anymore with todays update (14.06). Again all i did was update through GameEx to 14.06 and no profiles work any more. Interestingly, the "Specify Game Specific Options" was unchecked after update, when it normally is checked. Also, the plugin still remembered which profiles are associated with which games, but they just don't work. I tried 3 games: Metal Slug, 1944 and Strikers 1945, i also re-associated the 1944 profile in case that was the problem but no dice. The log seems to indicate something is amiss (attached). xpadder.txt

You? Star Wars? I must say i can't quite believe it...

HiToText is fixed? WOOT! It really does save the hassle of booting a game and waiting through a demo to see your scores, so i in particular like this And thanks to Adultery for the plugin updates, you're an inspiration of determination to dedication

Sweet looking cab! So when're ya taking it on tour Tom? And i love the tease of it having Evo running, or are they just screenshots... i guess we may never know hehehe

We have very similar rigs ClassicGMR (exactly the same GPU!), and coincidentally i had a similar problem but it not only messed up GameEx, but quite a few DX fullscreen apps. I spent quite some time trying to figure out why, and like you GX worked fine for a brief moment. Suffice to say i wasted a lot of time thinking GPU drivers and DX were the culprit but in the end it turned out to be an automatic Windows Update, that essentially was entirely useless to me and not needed at all. Unfortunately i never made a note of which minor update it was, but to find it i rolled back the updates one by one, till suddenly everything worked again and i marked it to never install. Probably not the most elegant way of solving a problem but i'd had enough at that point I can probably find out the exact the update that caused it for you but i don't have access to my laptop at the moment. Also your problem may well be something completely different but i couldn't help notice the similarities.

I can't answer your Xpadder woes, however: This is actually a known problem with MAME and has been around for as long as i can remember. In fact i make a habit of making all important controller configs (in <your mame>\cfg\ folder, in particular default.cfg) as Read Only once i have i have set them for the first time. I've experienced too many times in the past when i might have a different controller attached, to launch MAME and it decides to completely overwrite my configs - even if i have no/zero controllers attached it will do it!
-
Hi Johnny, If WinApe lets you launch savestates using the commandline it should be doable. However, even if this is true, the tricky part comes in when you will need to determine which games get launched with a certain savestate, and which will not. If it's just may be one or two games that you require launching in this manner, then a feasible approach would be to setup these few games separately, likely individually, and then integrate them back into your main 464 list using the Groups Feature. If you need more than a handful of games to be launched in this way though, it's very impractical and probably wouldn't be worth the effort on your part to take this approach. Hmmm. I wonder if there is any type of launcher for the 464 that will do this for you? May be even a GameBase? I'm not experienced with Amstrad stuff so may be someone else will have better insight for you.

Radiohead "Creep" Smokey Jazz cover by Postmodern Jukebox
DazzleHP replied to Draco1962's topic in Social Club
Interesting cover! But it just doesn't do it for me. Nowhere near the same impact as the original and i realise i might be a bit biased in my judgement. Radiohead are from my era, and this one particularly has deep roots - without going in to detail, i was the weirdo who felt out of place Being shallow though i admit - i like Ms Reinhart wow, she got some lungs! -
Glad you got that sorted! You can do the same thing with PCSX2Bonus too, and both are brilliant programs for this. I made a post somewhere bout it but i'll be damned if i can find it They use different approaches to accomplish the same thing. May be one day all these disc systems will get standardized huh Marking resolved.

Well it looks like you've started to solve your own problem For a quick draft it looks pretty cool man! And no doubt in households that have many users and controllers this would be very handy! Would eliminate "i started it and nothing works! cry cry cry" I hope you can develop this in to a plugin/external app of some sort as i'm sure the community would really appreciate it. Good job!

Galloping Ghost Arcade in Chicago, IL, USA (Awesome!!!)
DazzleHP replied to garetmax's topic in Social Club
Rub it in, much?! Nah seriously though, send us some pics/vids! Specially if you find some real authentic cabs Pumped for you man (but still way too jealous). -
This indeed is a tricky one to troubleshoot, because of the fact only a few are experiencing it. May i ask kindly that you both try and disable any online features, purely because that was the major update essentially when GX 14 was released. If not just to rule it out. I understand that things can become frustrating at times - we've all gone through it at some point. Thanks for your patience though at this time.

I hear that! Someone needs to start an arcade movement in Europe -
Sounds like a blast! I'm sure some people will get their asses all over this in hopes of wiping the competition. Personally i have piles of duties to be getting on with, so i wish you all good luck

Correct. Located in ...\GameEx\DATA. You are safe to delete all files with cache in them, but if you want to be specific (which might be preferable if you have many systems) then the cache files will correspond to the emulator slot you have them configured. For example you want to refresh your snes9x cache and you have it setup in emulator slot number 7, then all the related files will be prefixed with EMU_7...

OOOOOO - Could this be a classic MO vs. Ex GOTM Battle Royale in the making? Let's hope so!!

In this instance, because you moved your MAME.exe i suspect Update List is the culprit. Did you perform an update after the move? I guess you wouldn't know if it was happening before the move due to UAC interfering I would give it a try. If not then show us the usual gameex.ini and log.txt after attempting to launch MAME, and we'll see what we can do
-
This is the reason we always advise keeping your emulators out of any Windows system folders. If you use them you really are taking pot luck as some will trigger the prompt and some won't. If you really must use the Program Files folder you could always just turn the UAC off entirely. How you feel about that i guess would depend on how well your PC is protected, whether you own any meddling kids and how high your paranoia levels are

Ahhh the good ol Nuke! Brings back memories, mostly of my dinner getting a second viewing

Love a bit of LZ too, my Dad played em a lot when i was a lad - he would shake the house down For him it has to be loud! It's the law! I loved it. -
I was exactly the same SupCom sort of filled the hole that TA blew into my heart, but it just wasn't the same, you know? I had high hopes for this until the reviews starting coming. May be it's been patched enough now. Might give it a shot one day - after i've installed and tried at least a few of the 70-80 titles in my library that i haven't yet
