  1. Here's the thread if you haven't viewed it yet. Bare in mind that recent Catalyst Drivers install this automatically if you choose "Express Install", and so you may not even be aware it is running. I agree though, I think we should always try to keep situations separate, even if the circumstances seem to point to same problem. We don't know yet whether they are related, but it's better to sort one and find out afterwards that one solution solved another, than as nullPointer mentioned, we get another "Sega Engine" mish mash. Makes it easier for us to investigate/troubleshoot, and easier for the troubleshooties to keep track of what they are doing too.
  2. Do you have a Direct Input enabled MAME build? Because that would be my first port of call. Otherwise you won't be able to use the triggers which in my opinion is crucial in this game - to be able to get analogue acceleration/throttle. Using digital inputs will definitely hinder you in this game.
  3. Thanks for reporting back. Marking as resolved - please open a new thread for further assistance.
  4. It can only record one monitor at a time at present i believe (switch them with F8) but i wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a feature at some point as it's a popular request.
  5. Well even though my specs are quite low, they might be considerably higher still. I put my specs and the settings i used on the the vid page EDIT: I dunno what is up with YT lately but it keeps on adding two vids every time i upload This one seems to be the original Altered previous post to include the actual vid.
  6. Did a tester with PCSX2 and FFX! Bare in mind that i have the EU copy so it can't be run over 25FPS (that's the limit we had in them days) and i opted for no enhancements, other than x3 internal res No widescreen hacks, no speed hacks NOTHING. The only alteration is the x3 internal. Another thing to consider is that i recorded in 1080p, but as i used zero hacks, the final is actually 1440x1080. The original is 4:3 afteral, not 16:9 (which my monitor is) BTW, 3GB down to 140MB before YouTube, i say before YT coz it has a knack of screwing stuff! - You knew that though i'm sure DISCLAIMER: The camera shake is no one's fault - it's how Sony rendered models in the PS2 days. Not much can be done about it i'm afraid.
  7. I've not tried any emu capture yet but intend to see how it performs in 1080p at least with PS2 and GameCube, maybe Wii too. If successful i'll post my results I've been real impressed by it so far, although i've only tried a handful of Steam/PC games @1080p. And yes, i use V-Dub too to get it readable by most editors, then i compress with Avidemux - coz i know it inside out Most editors that i have tested won't read the capture otherwise All the high end ones do, but i'm not going to pay premium prices for something that i might use occasionally.
  8. Glad you're all sorted! Please open a new thread for any other inquiries. Thanks!
  9. Hmmm, are you capturing straight to mp4? If so you should probably make sure you switched to mp4 audio too in the audio tab. I also have sync issues when i enable mutlichannel audio - not sure why yet as i've only been using a couple of weeks. Vid looks great btw!
  10. Look forward to seeing your results! It's a great program, right?!
  11. huh?! did you try it?? I dunno what happened! LOL? PS: if you did, and you a decent sized drive, record in RAW format, it's like the holy grail
  12. I haven't, but i have been recording a next gen unoptimized game in spades, with a low spec rig and the results are amazing! I can try a GC/PS2 capture if you want? It's no problem, and i would actually like to test myself anyways
  13. Is US Mothers Day completely different from the UK? Coz this happened a couple of months ago, and bought my Mum/Mom all manner of things! How come there is such a difference in dates?

The date thing, is one of life's great mysteries. Sort of like how could anybody slaughter these vocals so badly...

Just be good to your mum or mom all year round.

  14. Well, can't help you out with the VHS stuff, but lately i've been using Action! - it's a software recorder, the same as Fraps basically but it uses almost zero resources! I dunno how but it works! The problem i have though is that not many programs can read the raw footage (Vegas, Premiere, and lightworks can but they demand massive, unreasonable (in my opinion) specs I've gotten around it using tried and tested methods that i've used for years, but it means your vids would need to be encoded a third time to use with anything else - which kinda suck seeing as YT now accepts 60FPS vids... EDIT - if you want to try it: http://actionrecorder.com/en It really blows programs like Fraps out of the water, however, as i said it's hard to get a low lv program to read the RAW footage properly. Try it out, you'll see what i mean
  15. what are you trying to record out of interest?
  16. Like attaching a couple of razors, to make a finger annihilator of death type jobbie? Or is that too dark? Ok, some feathers to make a tickle 2000... still sinister if you think bout it
  17. LOL how many of your dogs have you barbequed? I get ya though - mainly coz i have stubble and i use cheap azz lighters In that case (assuming they are the exact same model) then it's an easy repair - just take the cd rom drive out of your existing, and put it in the new one (from ebay). As long as the disc drive works in the one you have it's just a matter of connecting a couple of belts. There might be more involved (ie you may need to transfer a pcb too, depending on model and drive) but you'd be unlucky to have them both ruined! Disclaimer - unless the model you have is known for rom drive/pcb failures - might want to look into that too.
  18. Yeah i won't patronize you by asking the obvious, so i agree. If there was a particularly nasty surge it is likely your mainboard is damaged beyond repair. In that case it was probably sold for the parts, hence the price. If that wasn't made clear to you at purchase you should be able to get your money back.
  19. What's the main problem Ubes? Some clues could help someone at least give you some starting points to research For instance, does it switch on at all? Does it power up but you get no signal to TV/monitor? Does it all work fine until you try to record? Will it play a disc but refuses to capture? Will it play from recordings but not make any new recording? I'm not familiar with the model, but mostly these devices are very similar to a PC when opened, and can often be repaired using cheap azz/spare PC parts
  20. Outside linking is fine as long as it doesn't contain any roms/media that is copyrighted (or links to). So giving a direct link to a plugin (or emu for that matter) is acceptable as long as the hosting site doesn't contain copyrighted material as previously mentioned. If it's a direct link to a plugin dev site for example, it's totally acceptable as long as said dev doesn't also host copyrighted material/roms I think you know what i'm hinting at
  21. Me too lol "b-b-b-b-boners! Boners!" while on screen it exclaims: "GET IT MORE!"... "boners" So, because of Cyn & MO i have to claw this back temporarily, but i'll be back 1,340,700 EDIT - Scrap that! 1,582,690 *Updated OP, DB, RSS.

      I do apologize. Although I'm sure I didn't start it :)

  23. I don't either, but in my experience it's best to keep things up-to-date Another plausible argument, especially if you are using multiple controllers - even more so if you are using un-powered slots, IE your case vs mobo.
  24. I have no frikkin idea! lol I almost got taken in by the front page too, but i was stung by that before - Premiere, Lightworks and a couple others. Just like LightWorks though them in specs are way beyond my reach Well actually my laptop matches them OK but still, they insane! There surely must be something between free and low spec, and pro and high spec! I'll be damned if i can find it though
  25. Thanks man! I've tried most on the list but there are a couple i've not tried yet Thanks for that! As for LightWorks, i've tried it and OMG not only do you need a Masters in video production to get anywhere, the min specs are monstrous!! It requires an i7 with at least 8GB ram... I made the vid in my previous post with stuff i was using on XP! It's used by pro's tho so understandable. I'd love to find a happy medium between WMM and LightWorks, if such a thing exists? EDIT - cheers Todd! there is one on that list that i never even heard of I'll check it out!
