  1. LOL thanks for the chuckle I take it you guys have changed Snap/Video Delay (slower for lower spec systems, faster for better specs), and have changed "Snap Best Match" to No? PS you can export Event Viewer log, something like Right-Click> export log, or File> Save Log as. It's been a while but you get my drift
  2. GimmeClassics won Round 1 of my Music quiz but already owned the tables! So i hereby present Round 2 of my Music Quiz and there are still two PBFX2 tables (Steam only) up for grabs! Answer the following: I was born in 1970. I'm Irish. Abbreviated i might be considered a "Front End" but more accurately am a "Back End". Who am i?

      @Den - i know right! it's bizarre!

@Todd - what did you think? Troublegum is the most commercial album. I've always liked them because the melodies themselves sound real chirpy, but if you listen the lyrics... they so dark man, so dark. Love the contrast =) Not many bands can do that IMHO

I've only sampled a couple tunz. I'm having a bit of trouble getting past some of the vocals, they don't seem to match the heaviness of some of the riffs.

  3. Thanks for posting your log - it doesn't seem to be giving any obvious errors. There are a couple of things to try: 1) Assuming all your roms are in .zip format, try adding *.zip to your rom filter: Go to Setup Wizard> Custom> Emulator Setup, and you'll find "Rom Filter" there. 2) If #1 is not fruitful try this: I'm pretty sure Mednafen runs zip files, but just in case, have you tried enabling zip support in GameEx? Go to Setup Wizard> Custom> Advanced Emulator Setup. Choose your Mednafen setup and change "Zip/7-Zip/GoodMerge/RAR" to Yes. Failing that, don't despair - there are more things we can try, i'm just weeding out the usual suspects at this point as your config looks OK so far PS: Attaching files is acceptable, but just as an FYI this is the format to use: [gameex_data]Paste your log, ini etc here[/gameex_data]
  4. Hi there, and welcome to the forums! Your command looks fine and nothing is jumping out at me at the moment. Can i assume you have double checked your paths and they are in fact correct? Also, are you using the base Mednafen emulator or a GUI/Frontend such as MedGui? Please post your log.txt in your next reply after you have attempted to launch mednafen through GameEx. Thanks!
  5. Offtopic: @Adultery - it seems since V5 the dev's have changed how DT handles mounting, and it does look like it in fact auto-mounts images without the need to preconfigure a virtual drive. I suspect because of this the commands have changed *shrug* Check HERE
  6. Enlightened. Phew!
  7. What is Marvin? Sounds like an android... but i'm from Europe, stuff is foreign around here

  9. HA! good to see you post again. Did it ever work?? Coz i promise you if i ever took a date to an arcade and she loved it.... i would become borderline stalker until she said yes hehehe
  10. Heh i understand i really do, and i think i speak for most people here in that we all wish things were straight forward. But the reality is (especially in this game) they are not and so we find the best solutions/workarounds we can. Emulation by nature is an imprecise art, therefor any software that bases itself around it is even more so. It's just how it goes i'm afraid. We do have a knack of making things work though, in spite of the hurdles - occasionally winded, but never defeated
  11. I agree, but the option really is there if you want it enough Believe me - i have tried
  12. Thanks What Adultery said is true, but there is a way to make Steam work in Offline Mode without it asking for a connection, however it takes a bit of work and you will need to do this with an active connection before you finally "go offline". To avoid repeating myself, please read carefully this post. The client itself may be slightly different since, but the method remains
  13. Hi there aldub, This is a question that will take quite a write-up so bear with me Firstly, Steam is a media (mainly games) distribution platform much like iTunes as you mentioned, but it is also much more than that. It has many social aspects such as Friends Lists, Instant Chat (both in-game and out), leaderboards on certain games, and it will handle all multiplayer functions too - ie all the stuff you have to pay for on consoles Amongst many other features there are Steam Groups (click "Official Group" in my sig ), game recommendations and auto updating/patching of your software (including GPU drivers if you opt for it!). That wasn't in any particular order but you get the point Now, when it comes to GameEx, it is plug'n'play - meaning you don't need to do anything to get it to run in GX. Just enter your (Steam) login details in the correct section of the Setup Wizard: Setup Wizard> Custom> Online Game Services> Steam and make sure Enabled is set to Yes, and GX will do all the hard work for you! Including populating your game list, downloading artwork and/or vids and creating an information packed database. Configured a certain way you will never even see the Steam Client! But you will have all the functionality of Steam too (which is awesome in my personal opinion), but take heed - this all relies on keeping things in their right locations - moving things around is asking for punishment. Hope that wasn't too bloated an answer for you, but GameEx+Steam is really frikkin awesome Any more questions, feel free
  14. Just remember to run your license (regkey) on your new system to unlock it to full version
  15. Thank you Sir! All working as it should
  16. Anyone who guesses the next line get's a couple of free PBFX2 tables: What have i done to deserve this, I've had enough as it is, I've been...

  17. Nothing has changed, only auto updated GameEx to 14.04, tried three games that were fine up until the update. Now they don't work. (the games run as they should in GameEx, but the Xpadder functionality is gone) GameEx.ini log.txt Xpadder Plugin after 14.04 Update.zip
  18. That's perfectly reasonable to me!
  19. May be - one day Yeah, that's why i changed but i've been doing worse since hehehe It's not right!
  20. The ones that were on magazine cover discs! I can't tell you what they were or where they came from but they were some of the best! Shmups, platformers, metroid clones - they were awesome! I don't know if it's a thing, but some of them games i have stuck in my head for eternity Put it this way - if i saw them again i would lose my sticks Yes that was a replacement for Shxx
  21. Done, and if you need any further assistance, (or just want some more ramblings) please open a new thread
  22. No worries i'm just glad my ramblings got you on the right track FYI a map file is used to explicitly tell GameEx what to use, which is why i thought it was the culprit May there be many more ramblings!
  23. No don't do that I noticed you have a map file enabled - any reason? I think this might be why GameEx is expecting .zip files Another thing you can try is in the Emulator Setup> Rom Filter, enter *.pce
  24. Hi there surfdesign and welcome! Unfortunately TG-16 is one of those PITA systems that takes a lot of work to get going, no matter which route you take. Firstly, and this is just to help us help you, can you provide your GameEx.ini and your log.txt directly after you have attempted to launch a game using Ootake. Instructions are here. Secondly, your command looks too basic for this system. Do you have any mounting software installed such as Daemon Tools? What file format are your roms ie .zip, .iso etc The more information you can provide, the quicker we should be able to help you out
  25. You were right, but only by half I actually did this a couple of weeks ago but didn't post - coz i intend to to get into the half-million club but i've not been able to dedicate much time lately so as a backup i'll post it: 386,500 PS: I've switched ships since - not sure whether that was a good move or not
