  1. To give you an example of where i'm at, this was 800mb approx, squished to 50mb (ignore the graphical glitches - it's an early access game/beta in other words), then re-compressed by YouTube's aggressive methods. Try 1080p it if you can:
  2. I probably should have said in OP that it has to be able to render 1080p at least (corrected) But you're right, WMM is great in that it has everything i want, but the output is limited to 720p and there are no encoding options. Because of this the final render is quite bad Fine for home movies, webcams and such but disastrous for gaming footage
  3. Well we already have Steam (GameEx was the first to integrate it outside of the client itself!), Uplay and Origin. The dev staff have a knack for this sort of thing so i would count your chickens that at somepoint after Galaxy official release...
  4. I've been messing with video encoding for a few years now, and i'm happy with what i've learned, and satisfied with how much i can compress a raw lossless clip down to practically nothing, with decent results. However i use really old programs/methods and they just don't cut it anymore (see what i did there ). I want flare in my vids but i'm not prepared to pay for exorbitant software such as Adobe Premiere (£250?! - yeah, take my shoes and push my face in to the dirt while you're at it Adobe!). I want to be able to add blank/black space, with text/pictures, seamlessly spliced with multiple clips with fading/crossover/transition effects. But at the same time not need to have a degree on the subject. Something relatively simple to use, but with a nice set of features. I'll take the time to learn new skills if they are justified I am willing to pay for the right product (but free is nice), as long as it is reasonable, ie no Adobe! Do you guys have any suggestions/recommendations? Coz honestly i've tried many and am getting nowhere EDIT - must be able to render in 1080p minimum
  5. Should secure your position a bit more should Cyn return to this one *Updated OP, DB, RSS.
  6. Me too! Hence my lil outburst in the poll thread
  7. Awesome! Grats man! It seems DT5 is just a pile of screw-everyone-up though, it's causing problems across the board, so it's about time we as a community find a solid alternative. WHEW! Is it party time? I think so Want me to mark resolved and lock?
  8. Yeah i'm slightly suspicious too because your second link was around the time i went through all this and got it working. Also your first link was before all this DT Lite v5 debacle. With what's been going on lately, with Adultery's plugin, and the increased rate at which members are experiencing problems with Daemon Tools, i fear it's not reliable anymore. Which means we all need to find an alternative.
  9. Does it need to be an SCSI drive? I can't honestly remember.
  10. A member from the Steam Group also reported this: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/gameexrules#announcements/detail/178234017646117092
  11. Tell me about it - i've been making do with MAME only for quite a while now. It depresses me thinking about it, all them custom sets i spent months, may be years compiling, sat in a broken box i can't get in to Anyhoo what's the command you are using for ME? May be something will jog my memory.
  12. Unfortunately literally all my emu's and roms are on the ruined external HDD (i think we spoke about it in chat a while back) and i still haven't gotten around to taking it apart and as you should know by now my memory isn't at all reliable so can't really test anything solidly till i can retrieve my stuff. I have vague recollections of needing to get everything set via the GUI first, then simple commands working fine, but again i can't test anything without a full copy of ME
  13. Nice one! In that case your OP is crazy awesome deal! I wonder how they get such a deal on an unreleased game! Or rather who they are sleeping with
  14. I mean it's an awesome bargain if it's legit, but well hmmm let's say i'm slightly sceptical. Arkham Knight is a full priced AAA and i've read on various sites that the DLC will very expensive too, matching if not exceeding the base game price. That would be $120/£70 roughly. It seems too good to be true. I'm not saying it isn't legit, merely suggesting that people do some resarch before handing over any cash as i've never used the site before either
  15. Thanks to everyone for participating in our bonus games this month! There are some fierce scores you guys have submitted! These games will be turned into regular games in preparation for next month, however don't fret! All scores and rules still apply - nothing changes really apart from the title so keep them scores coming! Good luck! ~HS Team
  16. It's official! Mame Offender nailed this month's game with a cracking score of 197,470 (proof) Congratulations Sir, well done indeed! But don't let up - this month could get interesting.... We look forward to what you will pull out of the bag in the near future, as well as a few others "May day, May day!" Your banner as always will be presented to you shortly As for the rest of you, it ain't over yet! Although the GOTM has finished you can still compete for a position on this board. Our regular boards roll forever so bring out your guns and shoot for that top spot! Good luck! ~HS Team
  17. Couldn't agree more I bought it coz i do love the system, and Magic Engine really is flawless - it runs everything with no hitches, something that all alternatives came with a plenty. At the time of purchase i just wanted it to work, and ME did just that. I can't say i would do the same with many other systems though, coz they are not as special to me. Each to their own I would pay for a flawless Jaguar emu though
  18. I'll admit that i've not utilised GoG as much as i should have in the past, mainly coz i've given into DRM in favor of usability - Steam may be all that is evil to some people, but i've gotten fond of having an account based library that i can use and play anywhere, without having to haul my 20KG rig on my back with 30 cables to a friends house only to actually play for 2 hours before everyone is too drunk to care Not to mention the auto updating, friends, activity feeds, groups etc etc. And i must admit that after reading your experiences so far null, i really want this to happen and become big! Especially if they bring back multiplayer functionality on old school games - 5K free-for-all multiplayer on Total Annihilation anyone?!!! It could be the demise of my wallet though
  19. PS: As an FYI to all of your questions - yes it matters if you have a paid version of Magic Engine. A lot of features are disabled otherwise including most importantly - proper command line support! And yes i still think it is worth the purchase if you are a TG-16/Super fan
  20. Yeah i think stigz got lucky there because Makaron (not tried in 3 years) usually totally craps out on anything but fighting games. I think fighting games are supposed to be the focus of Makaron (don't quote me on that - it just runs them better overall). Not sure why - may be most of them used the same engine/techniques? But load something like Skies of Arcadia in Makaron and watch the nightmare unfold Similarly, try run Marvel vs Capcom (or any similar in the series) in nullDC and you'll get the same. Indeed, it all gets very silly! @stigz, not tried it but the nullDC devs have pretty much ditched DC by the looks of things and have been concentrating on Naomi for the last two years at least, so i would imagine it's pretty good. @tthurman, go for it! You have no worries there. In the past the emu devs had particular problems with emulating the SNES' Mode 7 (which games like F-Zero and Starfox utilised, along with such gems as Pilot Wings and Lawn Mower Man <- remember that?! i loved that game!) but it since has been nailed and i think all the popular SNES emu's can run it now
  21. No offense intended Ex, we all know that everyone has lives. It was just a bit of banter is all
  22. Totally missed this Anything pre-PS1/Saturn is solid these days - the only choice you really have to make is accuracy vs compatibility but in my honest opinion it's trivial at best. Just choose the one you get on with most and enjoy teh old consoles As stigz hinted towards though, the trouble starts with disc based systems - they can become a real pain in the ass and will consume you if your end goal is to get a complete working playable set. But hey, the whole point of this hobby is that you're never gonna get "perfect", but it's what you strive for. It's what keeps you coming back for more! Well at least for me it is
  23. A miscommunication i fear. I think Adultery meant settings.xml You can find it here: ...\GameEx\PLUGINS\Xpadder EDIT - as a sidenote, have you actually configured your guitar(s) after enabling custom joystick controls? IE actually going through each control and mapping them, such as Select, Back, Up, Down etc? I know you said you copied your configs over when you upgraded your PC, but since then things may have (and probably did) change quite a bit. This may cause your old configs to not function as expected.
  24. For the kids though right? *ahem, cough* (in joke)
  25. Grats on the win MO! I expected Ex to show up in the final hour too A well deserved finish as usual though. This month could be interesting... *twiddles thumbs* heheheh
