  1. If i'm understanding correctly you want to integrate this with this? It probably can be done yes, but would take some work, and to integrate into GameEx would take even more amounts of effort as you'd need to make a program/software first. You could probably connect the Simon Says PCB to your arcade buttons quite easily though.

  3. IGBOTY 2 list has been posted, courtesy of Buzzin69. Thanks man! Grab it in OP and get MAME'in
  4. See why some of us got frustrated? This is just one of many problems... Meanwhile a contributing member (Buzzing69) has provided us with a working MAME list for this comp, Enjoy!
  5. Nice improvement Den! Although by far not even in the same league as the top players, i have made some interesting findings and feel i should share them. Firstly, don't grab the "yellow" angels/fairies (i dunno what to call them). If you let them drift "offscreen" then the next one that apears is worth double! And you can keep doing this! Each time it reappears it will be a different color, and with give a much better multiplier What i've been trying to do is grab the "angels" right before a major enemy spawn! For instance on the first level, you will get many enemies spawning from the RED things on the ground (near the end) - don't destroy them! Pick up an angel and stay high on the screen! They will keep spawning giving you nice points. The same thing happens on level 2. Out of the garbage shoots! Don't destroy them, pick up an angel and go nuts! Of course the skill is missing the angels, and then grabbing them at the right point - something i haven't nailed yet. But y'all may
  6. Are you starting to come around? I try everything too in most situations, but sometimes just throwing money at a situation can help as a last resort
  7. Welcome to the forums BTW earthprime While you may have stumbled upon a glitch with the latest install (thanks for making us aware of it!) I feel i should give some pointers in manual emulator installation, and GameEx integration. While GX does a great job of downloading and extracting Emu's to directories that GX will by default monitor, you should be aware that downloading from official websites, and manually configuring emulators to suit your needs and system is much more efficient, not least because you will not only get to know the emulator itself on a more in depth level, but also how GameEx works too. I'm trying hard not to preach, but when you know how GameEx really works, you'll realize exactly how powerful it is. It can run not only Emu's, but literally ANYTHING that can be run from a commandline Of course none of that means you have to do anything manually - we're here to help everyone There's no harm in making you aware though, right?
  8. @Jazz Jackrabbit - i would like to see this too, but more as a "Stats" page. An info page where you can see all kinds of info like CPU's, RAM, PCB's, who developed which hardware etc. Geek is good - we like geek! At least I do
  9. Ugh, it gets tedious. A game that is no longer produced, no longer sells, has zero support from the original developer and can't even be ordered on request, is obsolete. Attempting to pass a law that somehow defines these "modders" as committing an offense is ludicrous. Because "some time in the future" someone may re-release said works and make profit ... This is all about control, nothing more. And it will only happen if people are willing to let it.

If you are trying to find an easy way to determine rom names from within GameEx then unfortunately it cannot be done at present. I use RomCenter for this kind of thing but a UI such as MAME64UI is just as effective. This is a popular request though, and you can add your vote by voicing your opinion in the Feature Requests forum. Our Devs actually read this thread and take note, so go ahead make it known. The more often a request, the more likely it will be considered

  12. Try this: Load the Setup Wizard> Custom> Input Settings. Scroll down to find Global Exit. To the right of Global Escape Key Combo click the browse button [...] then click Clear. To the right of Joystick Exit click the browse button [...] then click Clear. All exit combos should now be disabled.
  13. Anytime And good luck!
  14. The "uh oh" sounds means something is not right You'll here a "click" when everything is ok Seeing as you mentioned using MameUIFX you probably don't have DirectInput enabled MAME (you'd usually need to compile it yourself) so try unchecking "Enable MAME Snap Mode".

I see you've posted in the plugin thread too, so we should continue in that thread to avoid any confusion. See you over there!
  16. You can specify which directory the snaps are stored if you go to configure the plugin. Also, enter your forum name and the initials for in game leaderboards IE: EVL or whatever you use and the snapper will overlay the snap automatically with that and other info
  17. Yes It's also why your in-game menu is at low resolution coz the Hi-Score Snapper switches MAME into DirectDraw mode (by default MAME runs in DirectX mode)
  18. Yeah i think a lot of the time it's trolls sabotaging your efforts - it's too coincidental that no wormholes get used on the #10-#70 bosses then what a surprise, on the #80/#90 bosses UH-OH wormhole spam. You'll notice the #00 bosses always get mega nuked too - ijits! Anyhoo, scuse the rant - i got to 100M! BOOYAH! You can see it start to glitch (deliberately) as we get close to the end - then watch it when it tips over Our room was using a wormhole script, well 1/3 of us were, fighting all the nukers hehehe but we got there in the end, in just under 15 hours! I like that Valve anticipated us cheating coz you get a shiny new badge when you reach it - something as you know is impossible playing legit in 24hrs
  19. Never had to before, both of my comps are fine.
  20. Man, tell be bout it! The amount of times on a boss i've used a precious "raining gold" only to get multi nuked! LOL it's like BOOM! Boss dead, and i'm just sat there jaw on the flaw, thinking... Well, you know what i'm, thinking! Not to mention the total lag fest that it is! My connection i can get by most of the time, but this! This is something else..
  21. What do you guys think of it? I know some of you have been actively playing
  22. Well, it doesn't more than a few have had problems...
  23. @Wolf - yeah it's problematic man, maybe coz the site was designed with Chrome in mind? @Adultery - Never! Google can Suck My Kiss @Community - We really want you to participate! You don't need to be a prior participant, you don't even need to have entered any comps before, either here or anywhere! All you need is a working MAME and some fight in ya! You might be good at fighters, shoot 'em ups, sports, puzzlers, platformers.... anything! It really doesn't matter in this comp as long as you are willing to try! There is also a generous time frame to get practicing - no pressure at all! Represent us, sign up, be a part of something
  24. Absolutely awesome post RedDog! Couldn't have put it better myself Amen to that! It's so often requested i'd be quite surprised if it wasn't implemented in Evo in some way. I personally dream of having "genre lists" that will let me choose all fighters from all systems, or all shmups from all systems etc. Also the "series link" idea if feasible would be phenomenal!. Of course these things would need some quite thorough and intricate databases to pull off... If only we had a DB Guru on our side...
  25. I can see you ain't no newbie But yes you got my gist! Whichever you are most comfortable with - ClrMamePro or RomCenter, they both do the same thing, allbeit with different approaches. Now, i've had a look and honestly i'm not sure what to do with the XML's - when i last did this they were all DAT's - Maybe you can run them against an emu instead? Much like you would do with MAME? At least pre-160 anyways If it's Amiga you are trying to trim though i'm wondering if GameBase might be a better option for you? Once you have a DB running in GameBase you can eliminate/use filters to trim the database, and once done you can plug-it into GameEx. If you weren't aware - GameEx has GameBase plugin support! The best way for artwork downloads is to first create an EmuMovies Account, you can create a free account that will give a daily limit, then use the external app that comes free with GameEx! Hit the Windows button> All Programs> GameEx> "Download Artwork and Videos", run that program and you'll get some nice results
