  1. Hey, if they eat poop they won't eat me! I love me some shrimp, lobster, & crab!!! Ultimately, don't we all eat poop, at least indirectly? If you eat Cheerios, the whole oats were grown on a farm in a field fertilized with POOP! The milk came from a cow that ate corn, grown in a field and fertilized with POOP! Like blue cheese (or any cheese for that matter)? Guess what - bacteria POOP! Drink beer, wine, or liquor? Yeast POOP! And, if we are what we eat, we are all POOP! I'm hungry, what kinda poop is in the pantry?
  2. Have you tried using a third-party app, such as SnagIt? You should be able to run GameEx in windowed mode, get the snap capture you desire, crop out the window and save the file (same name as the ROM, of course). You may also want to ensure that you are using the correct codecs, especially for your videos. Recommended are the Shark007 codec packs.
  3. Thanks! Will be a few surprises with this theme - a bit of a departure from the previous to leverage against the recent v4 changes a little more.
  4. About 2/3 complete, here is a snap from my latest theme. Let me know what ya think!
  5. Nope. It is smaller that normally used. It showed once when I first started working on my new theme, then vanished. It did, however, reappear when I loaded another theme, so I will try reloading it as if I am starting a new one to see if this remedies the issue. EDIT: I am not sure exactly how it happened and why it would not resolve, but the X coordinates were out of range for the Menu bar. Odd thing is that when I changed the version indicator from 4 to 3, the menu bar reappeared. Change to 4, disappeared, even after manually correcting the out of range coordinate. I then copied all of the data except the coordinate/size info in the Layout section to a copy of another Version 4 theme that worked without a problem and this restored the Menu bar. Odd indeed. I wonder if we may have a bug in how Version 4 themes are handled?
  6. d'OH! It was late and I had house guests distracting me and that's my story! New issue - anyone ever experience the Menu bar disappearing? It shows placement in the theme, but when I load GameEx, no menu bar.
  7. Does anyone know what configuration file contains the background file names for each of the emus and MAME? I am trying to get the custom menus to pull the correct files and hitting against the wall.
  8. Was just curious about the Nyko system as it has been out a awile and is sold in most of the big box stores.
  9. How are the Nyko charging stations/batteries?
  10. What happens if you launch without the wrapper?
  11. Ok, let me get this straight. YOU put in fat batteries and and you assaulted your 360 wireless controller because it lost connection? MS must love ya! Anger management classes, anyone?
  12. That feature is automatically supported by Version 1 and 3 themes. Using the Theme Editor, you may need to "create" a new theme using your current theme as a the basis for this new theme, and select Version 4 then click OK. The caveat to using Version 4 themes, however, is that you lose the nav bar functionality at the top of many of the themes.
  13. What size monitors are you running for the main and the deck?
  14. Being a military brat, I am glad to see you got your Port and Starboard fan lights in the correct placement! Looking good!
  15. Again, there are different executable files for different applications that come as part of the whole of GameEx. Not sure where the confusion would be in that. Same applies if you purchase MS Office. There is not one executable you access to load Excel or Word, etc. When you use GameEx, you are using a suite of programs. Sometimes you will invoke them from within GameEx, other times individually outside of it. There are some, such as the Advanced Configuration utility and the Setup Wizard that replicate the same functions, just in a different way.
  16. Work is continuing to improve the setup wizard and advanced configuration to streamline some of the core default locations of various emulators and the file paths . As with any program, it continues to evolve and is dependent upon its users to submit Feature Requests to drive features & fixes as is possible. I can tell you that, since it is a front end, you will never get away from separate .exes for each emulator. Those programs are not the author's and, as emulators come and go, this is something I would not expect to change. The forum is the best place to locate documentation that is not covered by the FAQs. If have any suggestions and examples, please post them in the Feature Requests thread.

I believe that HS does support both 32 and 64-bit flavors of MAME so your response is not entirely accurate. There are some video tutorials sins0729 can access via the HS site if he/she explores from the link provided that show how to install and integrate MAME in HS.
  18. First of all, I would suggest try the troubleshooting steps as outlined so that you can hopefully take full benefit of the latest version of GameEx and, if it turns out that there is a bug in the current version, it can be anylized and fixed. Second, you may want to go to the Nvidia forums for your video adapter to see if there are any reported issues with the cards in this series regarding DX/D3D. There may be a setting in the GPU software or D3D that needs to be adjusted and may resolve your issue.
  19. Likely he is running Boot Camp which allows for dual booting of Mac OSX and Windows on the same machine.
  20. @Adultery -Not sure but have there been any changes with the way the themes cache is handled? Odd that a theme that had not been changed and was working fine would start going wonky following an interim update and only within one emulator. @Mesk - Have you tried running MAME as an emulator and, if so, did you get the same response? If not, can you try doing so to see if, as an emulator, the issue still occurs. My thought is that it should not if run as an emulator.
  21. Sorry to hear that but like I noted, if he had any interest in maintaining this derivative beyond 0.125 he would have done so. It is safe to say that he has moved on and does not appear that other than looking at what he has suggested that there is much more you or anyone can do.
  22. Tom - could a malformed .avi file possibly cause issues when attempting to load? If this file is removed or replaced, would be interesting to see if the issue resolves. I know that he had been recently converting files from FLV to AVI (not sure if this was one the files he had recently converted, however) but I think it worth a shot.
  23. Using the Advanced Configuration utility, go to Display settings, click Next Page, and 3rd entry from the top. Select No a for Display 16 Bit colour, then click Save. The other place to check is in you Display settings for Windows to make sure that 32-bit color is selected.
