  1. The only other option that nobody mentioned is running MAME as a separate emulator (the same as you would setup for an N64 or other emu) instead of through the GameEx Basic MAME and Advanced MAME settings.
  2. I would defnitely put in a value in the Wait Before Keys section for the emulator. Maybe start with 2000 (I believe this setting is in milliseconds but if I am wrong, someone please correct me!) and see if that resolves some of the difficulties you are encountering. Also make sure you have the latest DirectX installed.
  3. You're welcome Traffik! We'll mark this as resolved then and Welcome to the Forum!

You're welcome and welcome to the forums! Are we OK to mark this issue as resolved?
  5. Will probably be a few weeks before I am ready to share the pack but will keep ya posted!
  6. Mesk - we KNOW you were just trying to start trouble.. LOL! So about those AVI snaps....

You are using a Version 1 or 3 theme. As of now, there is not an option to toggle on/off. You could import the them into the Theme Editor utility and convert it to a a Version 4 theme, save it, and you should be good.
  8. I agree. I think that if someone has a question about another product or support being provided, the forum for that product if a functionality or general content question is more appropriate. If there is any feeling of impropriety, then email the person directly and give them an opportunity to explain. There may be an issue preventing the content from being used or other reasons and private conversation may be preferred. I don't think that it was intended to place blame in as much as to see if anyone else in our forum was experiencing the same, but probably more appropriate to contact that author directly if any concerns as such. He is usually pretty receptive and has been very helpful to me even when not asked directly for assistance.
  9. Please provide a copy o f your gameex.ini file (will need to open in Notepad and Save As txt file to post to the forum) Don't do anything as drastic as reinstalling Windows unless you are having other issues outside of GameEx regarding.
  10. I noticed that the file you posted shows the following: 15:57:21.9 13/04/2011: AVI Snap Path: Not Found Please go into the Advanced Configuration utility Under Basic MAME Settings on the first page and set the path to your video snaps (AVI or FLV format - does not matter). Likely the path will be D:\Games\Assets\MAME\AVISnap or at least thats is how I have mine setup separate from the Snaps directory and it works just fine keeping them separated for MAME. You will mix them under the other emulators in the same directory path.
  11. Have you posted anything on the emumovies forum or to Circo directly?
  12. Have to agree with both Adultery and KustomKid. It really depends on what you can afford at the moment or in the near future. I feel that 64-bit is the way to go, especially if you have more than 4GB installed (that is the limit for 32-bit) and are looking at more of a HTPC setup vs a cab. Otherwise, 32-bit should be just fine. I know there are others in the forum with similar setup to yours with a dual core processor and 2 GB RAM running 64-bit - hopefully they will chime in on their experiences running the higher demand N64 and modern PC games. I don't see you running Crysis on it, but some of the lower demand games should be fine.
  13. Hate to see you go so soon as I think there is probably a solution. There are plenty of low profile video cards that would likely work with your system, but since you are attempting an NES mod setup, I may be incorrect. Good Luck!
  14. And.. thanks Tom!
  15. Usually not a problem, of course, it is generally recommended you have backups of the important stuff when installing or updating any software.

    IE 9.

I like it better, have not noticed quite as much slowness as with IE 8. I prefer Firefox 4 though.
  17. Except to the Miss-us (spelled correctly according to my wife). She keeps threatening to attach a keyboard to her body so I will play with her more than my PC.
  18. I don't think it will come to blows with a flame war like threads dealing with Microsoft vs. Apple vs. Linux... yar!
  19. So far so good. Just looking a the loss as a needed intervention to rid me of my hoarding spoils. Sux that I have to reinstall my emus and redo my custom menus but was threatening change it anyway.
  20. The failure of my 8800GT was the first in many years of using nVidia graphics adapters (1 out of 15 or a 6.6% failure rate - not too shabby). Overall, they have been very reliable for me. I have only worked with ATI a few times and driver compatibility issues were a constant issue. No problems to speak of physically with the cards, but if I can't use something reliably every time the wind blows or MS updates a service pack, well, it has to be replaced.
  21. VIdeo drivers can cause some strange things to happen. OK for us to mark this one as resolved?
  22. If you wouldn't mind posting a copy from each of your arcade cabs of your gameex.ini file (you will need to save as a text file to upload to the forum) and if you would label each according to cab that works and cab that does not. We will also need to know about your configuration - Windows version, 32 or 64-bit, machine specsz such as amount of RAM, video adapter, screen resolution, etc. Thanks!
  23. I have had both, usually end up with nVidia as I am most familiar and comfortable and had the fewest hiccups. Just replaced my 512 DDR2 MB GeForce 8800 GT that died with a 1GB DDR3 GeForce GT440 that I picked-up from CompUSA for $90 and so far working like a champ.
  24. I would verify that you are running consistant screen resolutions. It is possible that your GPU may not support 640x480 or less. I would set GameEx and my theme to run at the same resolution if possible, 1024x768 is fine for most. I noticed in the log file 3D Alpha Blended Animations are enabled. Try changing this to 2D in the Advanced Configuration utility. You may also want to experiment a little with the Tweaks/Performance settings and set defaults to those that equire the least amount of CPU usage. That may help to free-up resources for the GPU and minimize some of the display issues. As many will tell you here, drivers can still be a problem. I have seen it often where there are issues when a driver is upgraded from one version to another insteald of the old driver uninstalled adn new driver installed fresh.
