  1. The lightgun is sitting at the UPS Store .5 miles away waiting for my daughter to get back in town to go there and sign for it. She originally had it going to her address where she mostly works from home before Christmas, but due to the delays, she was scheduled to be out of town this week so she had to have UPS redirect it to one of their authorized drop off points. I cannot sign for it so.... 🤮
  2. Arriving Saturday. Should be fun testing it out! YAY!
  3. Not sure how but could it be done as an overlay?
  4. Knowing a bit more about your system (What Windows version is installed, etc) may also help. Were you able to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to Task Manager and attempt to End Task Instant Sheller? One of these threads may be of help: Let us know your results.
  5. Actually easier than you might think -- look in the \GameEx\DATA\PINBALLX or \GameEx Arcade Edition\DATA\PINBALLX folder for a file called LIGHTGUN ALL.XML is created by GameEx or GameEx AE (Using Notepad++ works great) to see what the specific ROM names you have within your collection - see screen cap below:
  6. The only other way I can think of would be to page through Genres until you get to Lightgun Games.
  7. Correct with the exception that you just point to the snaps, vids, etc for your base/integrated MAME setup. Only the ROM path would point to lightgun games. So same MAME exe, etc. GameEx will only display the logos and other image files for the games in that ROM path.
  8. You could setup MAME as a separate emulator - display name Lightgun Games or the like, with a ROM path to a location with only lightgun game ROMs in it.
  9. Will close the thread. Thanks for reporting back with a solution!
  10. @Mike_da_Spike should I split out this troubleshooting series to the PinballX > General subforum?
  11. GAME: South Parkâ„¢: The Fractured But Wholeâ„¢ (Steam) SYSTEM: ROG Ally Extreme w/ 4TB M.2 2280 mod (Windows 11 Pro) The sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth. Going to copy & paste "Works "out of the box" with the built-in controller and play is great! No changes to dsiplay quality required. A fun game if you are a South Park fan! The cosplay episodes are amongst my favorites and this one does not disappoint. So far no issues to report, plays the same to me as it does on PC - because it is on a PC, only in my hand!"
  12. GAME: South Parkâ„¢: The Stick of Truthâ„¢ (Steam) SYSTEM: ROG Ally Extreme w/ 4TB M.2 2280 mod (Windows 11 Pro) Another I have been playing. Works "out of the box" with the built-in controller and play is great! No changes to dsiplay quality required. A fun game if you are a South Park fan! The cosplay episodes are amongst my favorites and this one does not disappoint. So far no issues to report, plays the same to me as it does on PC - because it is on a PC, only in my hand!
  13. GAME: Brutal Legend (Steam) SYSTEM: ROG Ally Extreme w/ 4TB M.2 2280 mod (Windows 11 Pro) I'll start - many newer games sold through Steam will work by default with the Xbox series of controllers. my current game of focus is Brutal Legend. So long as you remember to select Gamepad mode via Armoury Crate it plays out of the box with Xbox compatibility.
  14. Your response gave me an idea - whould you mind going into a little detail about the game or other favorites here?
  15. What are your favorite games for the ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go , GPD Win 4, or Steam Deck portable PC Gaming handheld Systems? List them out or post a single thread for a game - your choice! This may also be a good place to post information about configuration issues and solutions for each if they do not work with the built-in controller schema "out of the box."
  16. I do not own any lightguns (yet) but waiting for a Sinden lightgun in the coming weeks after a manufacturer's delay so I am unable to test settings for use with MAME and via GameEx. You note that you have programmed MAME to recognize the lightguns & that they work without any issues. I am going to elevate this to @Tom Speirsattention for any feedback he may have for making these work via GameEx. I am not giving up and certainly invite others with experience to contribute any suggestions.
  17. Added the following accessories: This is a good idea for quick connecting the ROG Ally to Ethernet and peripherals such as an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, additional external drives, etc. = pretty much turns the Ally into a desktop PC if you'd rather, however, I find it easier to work on configs and installing games rather then dealing with the text pad keyboard. iVANKY Legion Go/ROG Ally/Steam Deck Dock with 65W PD Charger, 8-in-1 Hub Docking Station with HDMI 4K@60Hz Gigabit Ethernet, USB-A 3.0, 100W Charging USB-C Port for Valve Stream Deck A little protection and for on the go. ButterFox Large Carrying Case Bag For ASUS Rog Ally Handheld 2023, Fits Charger and ASUS Charging Dock, Large Pocket for 65W Battery Pack, Slim Mouse and HDMI Cable And screen protection with anti-glare (matte) finish that also helps hide finger prints and smears JSAUX ROG Ally Screen Protector 2-Pack, Anti Glare 9H Hardness Tempered Glass Screen Protector with Guiding Frame, 7 inch Full Coverage Anti-Scratch Screen Protector for ASUS ROG Ally Gaming Handheld
  18. Are you using an interface or plugging the guns directly to the PC via USB?
  19. P.S. Your response with the gameex.ini and log.txt files attached was accidentally deleted as I noticed a duplicate post. Attempting to delete one deleted both, so we will need another copy of your gameex.ini file as well. My apologies and thanks!
  20. Can you attach your log.txt file after attempting to use the gun(s)? Thanks!
  21. I do not run this emulator so not sure I am going to be much help. In looking at the log.txt file I did not see any "missing file error" noted. Can you try loading one again and provide a new log.txt copy? Also, look for a copy of runitgame.bat and attach - thanks!
  22. Also, you may want to review the response found here for correct command line:
  23. Please attach (no copy & paste of contents please) copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files for review. Thanks!
  24. IF the dispatch goes out as planned, I fully expect the package to be held up at customs in NY for a week or two, so maybe early February-ish?
  25. I finally had a chance to load a game from Steam - Brutal Legend. Not a current "AAA" title, but compatible with the "Xbox" controller layout which to me is gold because I don't have to wrangle button or stick assignments. So far the temps have yet to exceed 62C during game play which is below my expectations. I see online where others are throwing every graphic enhancement and Turbo Mode and max FPS on AAA titles. Then they wine about thermal issues. Many don't have any heat dissipation on their stock or mod chips. I am less likely to play most stuff in Turbo Mode even if they support it as I am playing to a 7" 1920 x1080 screen. Works for me!
