  1. Exactly. Touchplay is optimized to use Sinden Lightgun as the control so would require the border in an "always on state" if I am interpreting the example in the video is correctly.
  2. Glad I got something right today and got you sorted! Enjoy!
  3. In researching it seems that there are mixed results running via frontends for this. I did come across this, however which may be helpful in converting the games into exe's (which can then have lnk files made and use the "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" command line successfully: Utility to create direct-launch EXE files for games
  4. Can you try changing ROMFILE to ROMFILENAME ?
  5. Did you try it with just single quotes "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" or double quotes ""[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"" as well? Is the issue occurring for all games? I noted in the log file: Running: cmd.exe /c 😧 rpcs3.exe "D:\Games\PS3\Rayman® Legends.lnk" Not sure if the ® may be causing a problem. Is that in all the lnk names?
  6. Hey, would you m8nd attaching both your gameex.ini and log.txt files? Refer to this post for proper command line and ROM filter: Let us know if that works.
  7. Not familiar with that image format but was able to open it within GIMP: Would definitely keep you awake!
  8. You could download and install the latest version of PinballX and follow the well documented setup instructions included with the download, then open new threads for any issues you encounter. This is the best way to learn how to use and maintain the program for yourself. You can also download the latest update from here. Based upon the quoted response, I get the impression that you are really not interested in doing so, but I will encourage you to do so regardless.
  9. I did find one that is similar to what I recall being in the first local arcade that I frrequented in the early 80's: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1289076417/galaxy-rug-space-rug-planet-rug-arcade?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=retro+arcade+carpet&ref=sc_gallery-1-1&pro=1&frs=1&plkey=4bfe9e4d9ac49c7f0c3e1ab17cc9524c64084e5d%3A1289076417
  10. Running Batocera on the VCS is probably the best way to go. I was going to try to stick with Windows 10 for running GameEx on mine but may pivot on that device. For now, the gun will be on my newest Win 11 Pro game rig with GameEx/GameEx Arcade Edition. Hopefully similar optimizations for Sinden Lightgun support found in Touchplay are in GameEx/AE. I don't think that the white border should be needed if the Sinden Lightgun is not the primary control device and, if I understand correctly, should only show up in-game for MAME or other games specifically configured for using the lightgun.
  11. I noticed a while ago that we have an OTA aerial antenna in the attic. It was likely installed there in '87 when the house was built. The flat cable connector is dry rotted and brittle. If I can get to it easily now that the temperatures are dropping, I will inspect it closer to see if I can adapt it to connect to the coax splitter to get better OTA signals to our living room and master bedroom using the existing coax outlets. Thanks Xfinity!
  12. Maybe you can start with providing copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files and describe something that needs to be fixed. That is the best way to learn how to setup and maintain your own setup.
  13. New support files please - pinballx, ini and log.txt files + PBXLoadingImage_log.txt to start. What tables are not working might also be of help to those helping you.
  14. Off topic - I have some racing sims, but most of my focus is on flight sims - nothing controlled by anything more than a HOTAS with pedals. I may have to look into the link you provided for a future setup.
  15. Not a bad price. Will have to bookmark this for after I overhaul my office... hopefully in the not-so-distant future. Right now it is a catchall for a bunch of crap that I need to probably just get rid of but haven't had/made time to address.
  16. Do you have blacklights?
  17. Think I found my answer here in this 11+ year old thread: https://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=272702&page=6&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&vc=1
  18. In going through logo fils for GameEx to update to a new layout I came across a MAMENet wheel logo image. I seem to recall experimenting online MAME play YEARS ago but, for whatever reason, stopped. Maybe it was discontinued or not sanctioned by MAMEDev, IDK. Can someone fill in my memory because searching turned up nothing.
  19. Since I am on "Christmas Lockdown" I have asked Santa for a Sinden Lightgun with Recoil for $159.99. They have recoliess option for $104.99. Sinden also has multiple gun and pedal (think Time Crisis) bundles. There are 4 different colors - red, blue, black, and grey. I am opting for the grey one. Below is the Indiegogo campaign video. What attracts me to this is no need for monitor-attached sensors to be installed. Overall the reviews are pretty good. I will provide my thoughts on it after Santa delivers it and I have a chance to install & configure it for play. In the meantime: - Do you own one or have something similar to recommend? - What are your thoughts or experiences with it?
  20. I am running Windows 11 Pro on both my new gaming PC and personal laptop. So far no major issues encountered. Many of the cosmetic changes I still find unnecessary. The File Explorer changes are annoying. Rumor has it that MS may be headed to a subscription based OS model in the next iteration (12).
  21. Updates have slowed to a crawl. A few more added to the FTP and more to come as time allows:
  22. Koronis Rift Remake by Georg Rottensteiner from 2006. Another LucasFilm favorite from my Atari 8-bit days. Fairly simple game play - Drive around, loot the "hulks", shoot the "Guardian Saucers" and return to the ship. Setup is a bit painful due to the limitations of the graphics/resolution which makes for a somewhat clunky experience, even with compatibility mode enabled. No video from the game remake but a video of the Atari 8-bit version:
  23. GameEx shouldn't care where the games are installed. I typically have my Steam library installed on a separate drive from the Steam executable. If that is working for you, you can install Steam and your games to a different and larger hard drive to remove any space constraints for your rig.
  24. Within the GameEx Arcade Edition Setup Wizard > Online Game Services > Steam, you can see the settings I use: This is all I have setup for accessing games in Steam and they load without an issue. This is also a new PC with a recent Steam and games installation. You may have to sign in initially with MFA on the same machine, but going forward it should not matter. GameEx_Start.._Steam_60_60_ 2023-11-19 19-25-16.mp4 Unfortunately, Windows video recording would not capture my game launch from the Steam menu, but I have had no problems launching a game with these settings without Steam loaded in the task tray or from PC startup. Also, you probably need to be connected to the internet to access Steam and launch the games. As for the references to a steam.ini file, that was likely an older thread for setting up Steam as a separate emulator prior to the integrated Steam settings.
  25. I haven't had any real issues using the integrated Steam support. Do you have an actual issue? If so, can you provide examples and attach (no copy & paste please) copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files right after the issue occurs?
