  1. Are you running LAV codecs? Assuming you did not notice the latency issue prior to installing the lightgun, have you tried disconnecting your lightgun to rule out that change as a possible cause? An observation of something that could cause adverse functionality and latency: MAME and assets installed in C:\Users\vzboo\Documents\ - typically best to avoid installations under areas that Windows considers as "protected" or requiring higher elevation. Think about installing MAME and assets paths under the root of c:\. Additionally, I am not seeing the latency you are reporting in your log.txt file: 20:51:21.07 5/20/2024: Opening Configuration File 20:52:11.78 5/20/2024: Bye Difference of roughly 51 seconds - pretty decent times. Please attach an updated log.txt file (NO copy and paste please!) from right after starting and lagging as you originally reported. Thanks!
  2. I moved your thread to the correct subforum. In addition to posting within the correct subforum, attaching copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files goes a long way in allowing us to begin to review the reported issue. This is a first report of such performance. Please be sure to attach the requested files right after the error occurs.
  3. Definitely out of the scope of the app and GameEx select bar. You could submit a feature request and, if it is possible and Tom sees merrit in the request, it might get implemented.
  4. What ping-pong feature are you referring to? For mine, I used Scutters' app exclusively. I would definitely read through his referenced thread if you do choose to use it. Lots of tips and tricks noted to using it in different ways.
  5. Did you see the Spinball app reference from this thread?
  6. They are currently only supported in place of the logo files within the theme\media\logos and there is no way to direct GameEx to point to a separate folder (path) to find them.
  7. Easy miss. He talks a little faster and softer (to me at least) when making note of the brand. I had to replay a few times.
  8. GRS spinners and trackball with the Tankstick Max (about 2:48): The tables should help in your case!
  9. If I were to guess, probably TurboTwist 2's or at least that was what they had been selling for a while.
  10. I would recommend uninstalling the Shark007 and K-Lite codecs entirely and installing the latest version of GameEx again but using LAV codecs instead to see if that remedies your issues.
  11. Glad you got it sorted! Yeah, LAV has been a requirement for some time now, having replaced Shark007 and others. I turn 62 next month, and noticed that I "hide my own Easter eggs" more often than I did 10-20 years ago. We'll muddle through it together, right?
  12. Do you know what kind of spinners they are using? The table I adapted and created here may be of help in setting them up:
  13. Can you please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files from right after the error occurs? You may also need to make sure that your are not running GameEx, MAME, and any other emulators as Administrator as this can cause some odd behaviors during write back processes. Thanks!
  14. It may be a full screen setting in the emulator itself. Not sure if there is a command line switch for that so you may have to "google" that setting. Under Windows-Only switiches you will find reference to -v # (with # corresponding to type of window or fullscreen with desired resolution). depending upon what you want to display. Not sure how it all works so you will have to experiment. Add it to the end of the command line noted previously. Example (for 1024x768 DS FULL): zsnesw.exe -v 20 "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" https://zsnes-docs.sourceforge.net/html/advanced.htm#command_line
  15. Can you please provide a screen capture of your GameEx Arcade Edition Setup Wizard Advanced MAME Settings? Below is what I show (highlighted in green):
  16. For ZSNES try: zsnesw.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" A good resource for popular command lines:
  17. I would strongly suggest opening separate threads for each issue you encounter to avoid confusion for you and us. Also, please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files to each so we can see your setup. Thanks
  18. Look in the Advanced MAME Settings section of the MAME Settings section within the Setup Wizard.
  19. Correct Part of the issue with older MAME builds - I want to say pre 0.197 but it may even be a little later 0.265 is the latest out. As for ROMs and where to find them, I cannot help you other than to say they are out there if you look for them.
  20. Problem with older MAME is that there are some conflicts with newer GameEx. Your version of MAME and ROMs must be the same. If you are mixing new MAME with old ROMs you will experience what you described. Since you are "new building" not a better time than now to update both. I'd just start all anew including the config. Once you start setting things up it will come back to you. You can still reference the old gameex.ini file for specific command lines if need be. My two pence.
  21. Hard to give this kind of advice. Assuming that you will have much newer kit and a more recent OS - at least Windows 10. A few things: - Get the latest MAME version and ROMs. Older versions can be problematic. - Install the LAV filters. Much better than the old recommended Shark007 codecs. - Consider running GameEx Arcade Edition. Derived from GameEx, it is a bit more streamlined with arcade in mind.
  22. Thanks! I like to think that I get more right than wrong and am of help to others.
  23. You may need to alt-tab, then x out of HideOS.
  24. Below is a list of features that may not appear in GameEx or GameEx Arcade Edition Setup Wizard. This will be a WIP as new features are discovered/disclosed:

  25. Thanks, Tom. Still learning what is still functional in Arcade Edition despite removal/absence from the Setup Wizard. Would it still qualify as a Feature request to have it added?
