  1. Yeah, not too many good Star Wars games out there. Shadows is up there pretty high on the list. Probably tied for first with The Force Unleashed (the 2nd one sucked so bad, I hate that I bought it). The problem is that the N64 got the development rights to the game. So many N64 games are also available on the PlayStation. I wish it was available on the PSX, I'd probably still be playing it. I just hated the N64 controller. But then again, Nintendo has released a new controller for every system they've ever made. Kinda silly if you ask me.
  2. +1 to Adultery's. Never heard of Draco's, but definately heard of Adutery's!
  3. Glad I could help. Least it was something simple! I'm terrified of those tough problems Adultery and Draco seem to resolve!
  4. That's just a really great idea. I'd definately go that route if I even build my own cab. With your advanced functions though, I can really see the advantages of having it on a 2nd screen that's always on for easy reference. I might have to go buy an Xbox360->PC Cable, or a wired controller (probably cheaper) just to use that layout setup. While my controller is nice, It doesn't exactly have colored buttons, they're just numbered. And they're not even number in an easily rememberable way: 1 2 5 3 4 6 Plus, the red "Shift" button is actually more like a 'switch' in that you don't hold it down and then get another set of buttons, you press it, and they toggle to their next set. So if you DO switch it, you have to remember to switch it back for it to work (too much hassle for me). I'll probably end up getting myself a copy of Xpadder before it's all said and done. Everything just works ok for me. It could be better, but it's good enough.
  5. Shadows of the Empire was great. It was LucasArt's attempt to go all out with a production title that includes everything under the sun as if a new movie was released, but wasn't. And I've got most of it too. We had the N64 game, and I loved it. I also had all the comics (somehow they're gone?) and the Trade Paperback (still got this!). I have the soundtrack (woot!) and the novel! I had (but grew out of) 3 tshirts. The only stuff I didn't have were the board game, trading card game, socks, hat, pens/pencils, toys (like they went ALL out on toys/action figures). Ok, well maybe I didn't have most, but I certainly have/had a lot! I even had a keychain with the logo on it, but I sat on my keys and it broke! It was a great story, and really filled the gap between episodes 5 and 6. Kinda made me want to go back and write my own novel for the mid-story between episodes 4 and 5, but figured somebody else out there in the world would probably beat me to it.
  6. @Kustom Kid - Oh yea, I forgot I had used My Channel Logos too. Haven't ran it in a long time, since I got all my logo's I needed. I used to use Radiotime, but didn't like it too much. I also dabbled in Live365, but dislike the occasional station break. I'd like to use something that has Shoutcast, so I can listen to some of my favorite channels from there. Never heard of Remove Potato. I also use Media Center Studio (the beta I guess) to move stuff around, and made my own "My Media" bar where I have Media Browser, MiraTV, Collectorz Movie List (forgot to mention that one too!, only it's just a databasing program since I use Media Browser instead for streaming). @Everybody Else - Slap me harder guys! I keep slipping up about my 'piracy' hijinks. I really don't do it on purpose. And I'm trying my best to catch myself. I'm not posting links or anything, I know THAT's just way way wrong. The little slips I do are just cause I'm too ignorant to notice. I felt bad about mentioning it, that's why I said I now have a fully licensed version. But anyway..water under the bridge. I've done my time. I'm over it. I'm moving on. Just wanted to apologize to the community, and thank you guys for catching me again before I really got into trouble.
  7. Great update Draco! I'll have to install Steam now and see how my games looked merged into GameEx with the new database!
  8. Go to the Setup Wizard, choose Custom, go to the Audio menu. Make sure 'Audio in snap/preview videos' is [YES]. If it is, I don't know what else to suggest. Maybe your ambience is just too overpowering, and you just can't hear the audio in the preview over it?
  9. If I could afford a TV to build one I would, but I can't even afford to replace my dad's old 20 inch CRT we have in the living room. I'm kinda luxury living in my bedroom now, with a 42 inch and surround sound. He's got a stereo tv, with 1 speaker blown. HAH! Can't wait for this next tax season!
  10. hehe, i was thinking the same thing
  11. /me slapped /me over it /me moving on
  12. I don't use GameExtender myself, since I only have one display. But you raise an interesting point of something I've wanted to point out to you for awhile.. It seems your GameEx GameTag isn't updating either. For the longest time, it was stuck on SNES/Super Mario. I thought perhaps you were just addictively playing it, but it's possible your GameExtender is getting conficted. Especially now since you notice your MAME is still displaying a SNES screen on the Extender...

    Noob Needs Help

I remember when 128mb was a LOT of ram, not to mention 512! I agree with the other guys though, a new video card should be in your future plans. Preferably, an AGP or PCI-E if your motherboard supports it; PCI (or even ISA (if they still make them)) is gonna be too slow a thru-put for you to have any advantages. You can do a lot with GameEx on bare minimum, having flat 2D menus, no animations, no video previews, etc. But it's not work it IMO. GameEx is just more awesome with everything running full blast! But if you can't afford a new card in the forseeable future, I'd recommend cranking down those settings to see if you get any kind of better performance. If you're still getting that error message because of drivers/etc, you might just have to hold off on GameEx for awhile. But ALWAYS make sure you have the latest drivers! It's not a hard thing to check. Here's the latest from ATI: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/WXPR1286133279.exe via their website at: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/legacy-xp.aspx
  14. Guh GuhGUh Buh uhg wow. Mine just totally suck! Man I wish I had some better ideas. I might just havta steal yours. That works so much better, rather than drawing the lines. Kinda makes me wish I had a Xbox 360 controller for my PC now. I assume your 'advanced' controls are all thanks to the power of Xpadder? Thats a good idea.
  15. What kind of adddon's do you have/use for Media Center? I'm always looking for things to improve my experience. Right now, I just have Media Browser, MiraTV, and a weather app called Vista4Cast that actually puts a 3-day weather icon (like the new v4 themes) in the corner on my Media Center Start page. Very nice apps.
  16. +1 for this recommendation. To be fully honest, I had used a 'pirated' version before the fire (i wasn't working at the time). Since I've now got a job and have been rebuilding, I actually did buy a full licensed copy. I think it's great. It's got a customizable interface, and as Adultery says..it updates every single day. I too have never had a virus with this. I also have a purchased license to Malware Bytes AntiMalware. I have both scanners set to run a quick scan every other day (Avast one day, Malware the other) and then they both do a full deep scan once a week. Plus they do their regular 'behind the scenes' scanning all the time. Been clean so far!
  17. Thanks for the update Tom. Hope this is preventative and not post-attack.
  18. THAT is why I don't drink. Never have, and probably never will. At first, I felt sorry for the guy. I used to know somebody who was handicapped, and he reminded me a lot of this guy. Then I just realized this guy is just sooo out of it, it was just funny to watch. The best part is, he was getting MORE beer! What a moron, they'd never sell it to him even if he made it to the counter!
  19. Have you tried playing them outside GameEx? Maybe theyre corrupted? Might need to just re-get them.
  20. Don't remind me! I was at work (Kroger Deli) and they were blasting it on the intercom. I left when it was still 2nd period, 15-7. I decided it wasn't worth watching when I got home. I'm glad they made it (barely).
  21. Man! I decide to take a nap today after work rather than get online, and what a suprise to find waiting for me after dinner! 3 updates, and a whole lotta threads! Busy day today, must be a Saturday. Anywho; thanks for the great work Tom! Looking forward to the new manual feature.
  22. Wow, what a thing of beauty! I'd love to have a video pinball machine!
  23. You don't need to request this. I've already got it in the request thread. The only solution I can think of would be if Tom devised a way to copy the rom names to a file that the EmuMovies app could read. Then when it matches, it would have the proper naming to match the roms, not the actual title the database displays. I've not actually tried this, but in theory if there are avi's instead of jpgs, I think GameEx would display the videos. Since the rest of the emulator setups read videos first and images second, having videos in the screenshot path might work. I wouldn't just rip out all your screenshots first, back them up before trying incase it doesn't work. I've had a few other requests about GameBase too, like the ability to have controller art displayed before launching the game. I also find it annoying that GameEx displays the Title screenshot in the main screenshot window, rather than the In Game screenshot, but it's something I'm learning to live with.
  24. I'm glad you got it fixed. Sorry my original suggestions didn't really mean anything, and didn't help at all. As I said, I don't know anything about .net, and never encountered that error before. I'm glad it was a simple fix, and Tom is the greatest at smashing pesky bugs like this. Enjoy!
