  1. I've given it some thought.. A plugin maybe isn't the best solution for something like that as the plugin would need to know when it is meant to be in use rather than the pinballx wheel navigation (so you'd need another button to turn it on/off) - and it can't really tell pinballx to launch something (it can only amend the command then when a user launches a table). It might be possible to create an app that goes in the application menu instead that could search with some form of alphanumeric selections, with a list of matching games and then launch a game of choice via the pinballx online api.. but, my guess is that method would be slower than selecting a game via the PinballX wheel with more button presses to get to the same place. As you're a supporting member the pinballx api is available to you so maybe voice control would be easiest (the functionality already exists) and quickest to use (no buttons to press at all).
  2. Hi Tom, Just a quick note that the same error occurs in the .net 6 V5.23 version as Mike noted in the last post (with .net 5 v5.22), i.e. game manager will let you add characters and will convert them into entity codes in the database xml but PinballX cannot then open and will crash (if some double byte characters are used)
  3. Just install the latest version straight over the top of you current install. Media and settings will be preserved. https://forums.gameex.com/forums/files/file/527-pinballx/ LAV codecs - https://forums.gameex.com/forums/files/file/2451-lav-video-codecs/
  4. I'm still not sure what you mean by 'pinball x dmd showing during game', is it a pinballx dmd video or something else, is it EM tables only or SS tables too, in VPX and FP etc?. Maybe a screenshot / video would help. The log file has me a bit confused too, i think there's a couple of game launches in there (both showing 'Hide DMD') - but i don't see the VPX command for launches (the C:\Visual Pinball\VPinballX.exe /play... type line), and it shows Displays = 1?. It also notes a Flash.ocx error, maybe that messes up something else in the pinballx initialisation so may as well sort that out and then post a fresh log file with table launches where you see the DMD showing problem. To fix the flash ocx error just follow the information shown in the log file; 09:52:32.86 11/19/2021: Please try deleting flash.ocx in the installation folder and then reininstall PinballX. 09:52:32.86 11/19/2021: You may need to change security properties on the file. 09:52:32.86 11/19/2021: If PinballX does not initialize you should address this issue.
  5. Do you mean PinballX DMD media is showing in game now for non DMD games? That does sound like the auto show dmd media option, but i can see you have AutoShowMedia=False set in the ini file so maybe it's something else. Need more info on what is showing on the dmd and when.
  6. A (windows) reboot with all monitors on should normally correct any issues, unless you're adding new monitors or changing GPU ports around. Might be worth checking the registry locations mentioned here https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/736116-windows-display-properties-identify-numbers-are though and possibly going through the rediscover monitors guide (maybe not for the unconfident pc user though)
  7. Having the offset at 1920 and monitor set at 0 should have moved the backglass. Not sure why it didn't.. are you performing the edits via settings.exe or by manual edits to the pinballx.ini file (and if doing manual edits the file is located in pinballx\config folder? - just want to be sure it's the right file) Next thing to try would be to set the x offset back to 0 and then try backglass as monitor numbers 2-5. I run PinballX as admin, main reason is because i launch pinsound studio with it (and pinsound did at one time require to run as admin too)
  8. It does sound like something strange is happening on your cab with the issues you are having. Windows event viewer may have more information on the cause so please also check that when you post the other log. Look for anything with a red error indicator at the time of crashes. You could try unplugging all usb devices and disabling all PinballX plugins (via plugin manager) to see if PinballX seems more stable then. Worth ruling out if there's no extra info in the windows event log. edit - bit of an afterthought but please also confirm you aren't running pinballx in a windows compatibility mode as well

Sorry, we need more information. What system / emulator and table is raising that error? (it sounds a bit like future pinball BAM?). If the table errors outside PinballX with a manual launch then that should probably be raised on another forum (where the table was downloaded from). If the problem is only present when launching from PinballX then please provide the files requested above along with more information on the table etc.
  10. Try using the x-offset 1920 for the backglass screen but also change it's monitor to 0 (the playfield screen)
  11. Did you try installing to a new folder location or over the top of your current install (and was it the latest version you tried)? If it was a new install with the latest version to a new location does windows Event Viewer show anything at the time of the crashes (under Windows logs - Application section)?
  12. Most people will use ffmpeg from a command line. Examples - https://vpuniverse.com/forums/files/file/6033-terryred’s-ffmpeg-video-converter-scripts/ Were the rotated videos downloaded from somewhere? - if you record your own the orientation should be correct.

Did you install any software other than PinballX? PinballX comes with sample media and table entries, but that is all they are.. they are no emulators installed with for those entries so the table launch will fail and return to the PinballX wheel. You need to also install the software to run the tables, e.g. Visual Pinball. Future Pinball, Pinball FX3 etc.. See https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=tutorials&article=160 for details on Visual Pinball installation. If you have installed the game emulators then please attach your pinballx\config\pinballx.ini and pinballx\log\log.txt files after a failed table launch (and let us know the install paths you used for the games)
  14. Can you confirm i understand correctly, setting the X offset made no difference to backglass location in PinballX?
  15. Please attach your pinballx\config\pinballx.ini & pinballx\log\log.txt files (after a crash occurs) Can you also let us know if there is any pattern to the crashes (same table in the wheel? etc, might be corrupt media for one table)
  16. I think he just wants to replace the default loading.gif image with a 'smoother round the edges' loading.apng version. (so not using loading folders but playfields images option under Table Loading media mode where the image is overlayed on a snapshot table image) If he attaches the apng frames or the apng as a zip could they maybe be added to the loading video builder as an alternative?
  17. The plugins don't 'talk' to each other so it's not possible with how they currently work.. but Mike's right, when launching a random table i think the chosen table should remain unknown until it's loaded. Let the suspense build!!
  18. Strange. Maybe it was a corrupt file in your loading videos folder or something, i can see how that could have caused an issue... but's it's just a guess!
  19. I think it needs to be in an enabled systems database folder. So amend one of your existing ini files, but leave it where it is. Then remove the others. Probably best if you have all your 'all systems' ini files in the same database location for maintenance.
  20. Hmm, still quite a lot of button pressing involved in that!. Maybe best as a feature request for PinballX to add a jump by 5 tables in the wheel, or by 5 letters in the alphabet if a a flipper or page button is used in conjunction with another button instead of single table / single alphabet letter?
  21. Not sure a plugin could interact with the wheel without being creative.... but what game would it then select? However the table name is entered it's going to be a lot of button presses anyway as far as i can see, so not sure it would even help either.
  22. I think you're attempting to re-use existing buttons to make them dual purpose? E.g. during game a nudge button and a flipper press as the same time will adjust volume, but one at a time will be normal gameplay?. I suspect that if you do get this to work it will be far from ideal, and when adjusting volume the in game nudge will also fire along with a flipper. Maybe you could try something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ecarke-Keyboard-Mechanical-Keyboards-Programming/dp/B096ZR72QV/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=usb%2Bmini%2Bkeyboard&qid=1636459090&sr=8-11&th=1 mounted out of site under the cab or something if you don't want more visible buttons on the cab?. Note - i don't have one so i can't confirm how well they work, but the description indicates it can work for windows volume control (or you could map it as a key input for volume in pinballx?).. 2 key version for vol up/down or a 3 key version for up/down & mute etc.
  23. https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/25676-resolved-creating-a-multi-database-filter-list/
  24. I'm not sure how well that would work as you'd also need a 'launch after' to stop pinemhi monitor - and that may stop the monitor before it has had chance to read the score from nvram and submit it to the leaderboard. Nothing to stop you trying it, but pinemhi is tiny really so i don't think it'll be much of a factor even on low ram systems. I'd try it starting with windows and see how you get on.
  25. Not sure you want to adjust volume in PinballX or 'in game'.. A plugin could work for in PinballX but not sure how much use that would be, pinvol is generally recommended as the best for in-game already (maybe you could use it with joytokey?). Me?, I have a griffin powermate mounted vertically below my plunger that works as a volume dial. Don't think they do them anymore, but you might find one (or similar) cheap on ebay that could do the job for you instead.
