  1. One thing you could try is running the example command line from the log file in a cmd window; "C:\PBX Recorder\PBXRecorder_x64\FFMpeg\bin\ffmpeg" -y -t 35 -rtbufsize 1500M -f gdigrab -framerate 30 -offset_x 1920 -offset_y 0 -video_size 1920x1080 -i desktop -vcodec libx264 -preset ultrafast -qp 0 -threads 8 "C:\PBX Recorder\PBXRecorder_x64\bg.mkv" If pbx recorder is hiding a ffmpeg error then this should be visible in the output. Don't worry about running a table with the command, it should just record whatever is showing on your backglass screen at the time as "C:\PBX Recorder\PBXRecorder_x64\bg.mkv"
  2. Do you have a DMD if you launch a table directly from visual pinball? (i'm not sure if the issue is only when launching from PinballX) Edit - log and ini files show you have 'Hide Pinmame' option set to Yes - as the hint "Automatically hide the PinMAME window when running Visual Pinball or using the setting below. This setting is for cabinets using real DMD displays and can automatically stop the PinMAME window displaying on the playfield." so try with that setting in PinballX as No. If that works you need to work out whether you want to use the pinmame dmd or freezys (as Mike says freezy's is generally recognised as the better option). If you installed visual pinball using the all in one installer then you should already have the files required and just need to configure freezys (again as Mike suggests!) (lets worry about the stats plugin later)
  3. The pbxrecorder log file shows the resolution of screen 2 as being 0*1080? Monitor Count: 2, Primary Monitor: 1 Monitor 1: 1920x1080 (\\.\DISPLAY1) Monitor 2: 0x1080 (\\.\DISPLAY2) As far as i know that information is returned from windows but pbxrecorder will then use the information in screenres.txt to work out the screen areas to record - so the monitor resolution as logged may or may not be the issue. Seems a good place to start though, how are your monitors setup in windows?
  4. All you have to do for that is win!
  5. Don't worry, I'll be having my pints and pool playing session tomorrow
  6. @lees1964 when you attach the files please also confirm that everything is set right in windows display settings for the backglass screen (correct 800*600 resolution and scaling set at 100%)
  7. I suspect you're right, maybe it's a flexdmd on win8 thing?.. i've used flex with win10 and win11 without issues. Not sure, but flexdmd uses freezy's dmddevice and that does have a stayontop option in dmddevice.ini that may mean the backglass wouldn't come to the front. The only other option i can think of from a PinballX angle is to move the ultra/flexdmd tables into their own system in PinballX and add -DisableTrueFullscreen to the launch parameters for visual pinball (assuming running in non exclusive fullscreen for VPX doesn't destroy performance for you), but the real fix will need one or all of the flex/freezy/vpx devs to look at it.
  8. No problem mate, glad to be of some help (although i think in the end you worked most of it out yourself!)
  9. Future Pinball came first but the development was stopped. BAM / FPloader came later to extend FP functionality (3d stuff, improved physics etc), and then pinup player / pup came along to add to BAM allowing video playback and improved DMD displays. That's how i think of it anyway, but as i haven't used used FP in a while i might not be totally accurate. Reading the guides should explain it better once you know the terminology. No worries, i have to deal with Mrs Scutters wibble!! Yep, it sounds like this is the real problem. Game manager and database manager wouldn't change the fpl files. All they really control is the game media you see in pinballx before launching the tables and what games are available. I'd have though the fpl files should come with the table downloads, it may be better asking in the table support / download threads for help there.
  10. You're correct, PinballX will hide the mouse when launched and then restore it on exit - if you're not exiting cleanly (using task manager) then that step is missed. You might be able to get round the issue by using your exit button/key after a failed table launch rather than using task manager. The real fix is to work out why the tables aren't loading and get them to work outside pinballx first. You mention they're newer tables so maybe you need to update FP BAM files, and possibly update pinup player if they're 'pinevent' tables - here's another guide link https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=15601 Sorry - think there's going to be some reading involved!
  11. There's a section in this document - search for 'hiding hud elements' Future Pinball and BAM Mega Guide by TerryRed - Installation and Setup - Visual Pinball Tutorials - Tutorials - VPForums.org edit - you have another thread for the tables not launching & mouse staying hidden issue so ignoring that here.
  12. From the ini file it looks like you're not using pinmame in PinballX - so PinballX should be using the media files where found (and the default video if none is found). You have file matching disabled so only media with a file name exactly matching either the table name or table description will be used / found by PinballX. Compare those first when you get a chance.
  13. The devil really is in the detail sometimes For the DMD issue i'm pretty sure you need to drag the dmd in the FP editor for each table - but i'm rusty with FP The FTP importing might have failed because of file matching (depends what your tables are called and what names are used on the FTP). You can also try Database Manager as a replacement for the standard Game Manager it can allow you to view available files from the FTP before importing (it comes with a manual too thanks to @Mike_da_Spike so have a quick read of that to get FTP etc setup if you go that way) Glad your making progress anyway, let us know if you hit any more issues you can't resolve
  14. The PinballX logo video is just a default if PinballX can't find dmd media for a game. I suspect your setup is working ok if some dmd videos are playing (unless you're using pinmame in Pinballx - attach your ini to tell us that) and that the issue may just be you don't have dmd videos or images for all tables - do you have files in the Pinballx\media\visual pinball\real dmd *** folders for tables that show the PinballX logo?
  15. Not sure if this is the main issue or not, but your FP launch parameters don't look right; /open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender/STAYINRAM Try adding a space between arcaderender and stayinram, i.e. /open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit /arcaderender /STAYINRAM
  16. Please attach your pinballx\log\log.txt and pinballx\config\pinballx.ini files. I guess this is the post you followed? https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/18508-guide-how-future-pinball-should-be-setup-for-bam-doflinx-pinball-x/ I don't have FP installed anymore so might not be much use, but from memory for the DMD stuff try searching for HUD and translite, i seem to remember having to move the 'hud' dmd in FP
  17. Even if you don't use pinsound studio you can still download the sound file packages and search through the files to find a suitable audio file, the 'reorchestrated' type packages normally have a lot better sound quality.. https://www.pinsound.org/machine/twilight-zone/
  18. Have you tried using it as a DMD video in PinballX and setting it to stay on after table launch?
  19. DwmRenderGesture error could well be a win7 thing. I'd try installing the latest 'legacy' version of PinballX https://forums.gameex.com/forums/files/file/2534-pinballx-windows-xpvista/ and see if that has the same issue. If that doesn't fix it then it'll be worth raising as a new post with new log files etc (and will probably need Tom to look at)
  20. I think what you're seeing is the Exit screen rather than a loading screen. One more setting to change!, set Enable Game Exit Images to No;
  21. Quick Blood Machines wheel from @hauntfreaks backglass, https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/9848-blood-machines-db2s-vpw-original-2022/ (i'll update the main download at some stage with new images, for now just right on the image and 'save as')
  22. @Tyboderek Looks like you are using B2S files rather than backglass media (images/videos) in PinballX. Maybe that broke in a later version of PinballX or the move to .net core? (dunno, never used that feature) Sort out the flash.ocx issue and change this Pinballx setting to No if you're sure you recorded backglass videos previously
  23. PinballX will close VPX for you with the Exit Emulator button. If you scroll down to the bottom of this post you'll see my old button set up for VPX & PinballX as an example, https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/22391-virtuapin™-digital-plunger-kit-v3-nudge-and-tilt-setup-for-visual-pinball-10/
  24. Best to update PinballX, but it does look like you have button 8 mapped to Exit Game in VPX and to Select / Start table in PinballX (i assume button 8 is the button you use to exit a game?) I'd remove the button mapping in VPX for exit game and then use the PinballX Exit Emulator and Quit button mappings to control table and vpx exit, but you'll need to review what each button does on your setup as a select/start button shouldn't also be an exit button.
  25. That is slow.. other things to check Do you use teamviewer? apparently that has a large impact on load times, as does running VPX as admin. Also make sure you have texture compression unchecked in VPX video prefs.
