  1. It just runs the last game outside of GameEx to help determine if the problem is with Mame or GameEx.
  2. I agree with most of what Orclord has been saying in this thread. I have a coin mech in my cab also, but if I release a coin counting app to the pubic, it's a little bit different to having a coin mech in my cab. These guys can write there own plugins, yes, they can write there own coin counter apps too, but if you release software to do it your encouraging the behaviour. That's the bottom line. I don't think sounding like a "tow the party line fanboy of Mame and MameDev" is necessarily a bad thing. Let's not bite the hand that feeds us retro gaming goodness
  3. Anyone try Rag Doll Kung Fu on a cab? I wonder if it's usable with a trackball, anyone want to check it out?
  4. Yup I'm getting the same error
  5. Unfortunately "how much money you would have spent" can too easily be translated to "this is how much money you have spent, pay up" by an vendor using a Mame cabinet illegally. This idea is probably going to get a big thumbs down from Tom. I wrote a coin counter program about a year ago and it kicked up a storm of protest. My program not only counted coins but it allowed you to carry over coins to other games. The problem with this is that some people want to use Mame machines to profit illegally from them. This is very much frowned upon by the arcade community and especially by Mame developers. It gives the scene a bad name and it gives Mame a bad name. It's a popular idea though, I still get e-mails from people asking for it today. Just my 2 cents, I'll let Tom have the final word on this if he gets around to reading this thread.
  6. I will be working on the plugin again Circo, and my main problem has being lack of beta testers. The Mala guys like loadman seemed to have plenty of people willing to help out and beta test, but I only had loadman to test my LEDWiz stuff and that was it. I had a couple of people who tested a few signs, and they seemed happy with the way the plugin worked so I never heard anything more from them. I guessed it was working flawlessly. I don't believe there was anyone who had two signs working at once, so I don't know if that ever worked, I assumed it did. As for how the plugin works, it shouldn't just take information from controls.ini and it should also take info from GameEx (which is ListInfo.xml) if there is no info from controls.ini. I'm not sure what is going wrong there, but I'm not working on the plugin right now anyway. Maybe you could PM me your e-mail and work with me when I go to release the next version of the plugin. This will hopefully be happening after the CPViewer has been released. Secondly my plugin doesn't work with Silvers lcd files because I painstakenly wrote classes from each Sign's protocol documents and created classes to deal with them internally. This will allow for much more flexibility sending info to the BetaBrite's. Right now there is no support for other emulators, but I intend on adding this feature in the next version. The second problem I have is I don't have a plugin tester like the Mala guys have. We really need to write one because testing plugins is a sure pain in the butt without one. For example I have my development machine in one room and my arcade machine with my LEDWiz in another room. Just to test my plugin I have to compile it, send it to the arcade machine, launch GameEx and test if it's working. As you can imagine it's a nightmare! lol
  7. Yes I should have posted that here since everything is getting lost in this forum due to the high volume of posts. You can jump to this thread to get the info on how to do it... How to convert V1 Theme's to V2
  8. Is this for HOTD1 or HOTD3? Mine should work in the full retail version of HOTD3 only. I'm not sure what demo version your talking about have you got a link? Also, any reason why you UPX compress your AHK script? It's not like they take up much space, or are you trying to prevent decompiling?
  9. No, the ledwiz.dll has nothing to do with Betabrite and BPP-440 you should be able to use them both at the same time. Although I don't own either hardware to test here. I don't think "freaks out pretty bad" is much of a technical term to go to help out in any way I'm afraid. I'm not sure why your having problems saving your LEDWiz configs. Make sure you have the latest version of GameEx, I remember older versions of GameEx was saving older versions of the plugin over the top and would mess up the configs. It happened to me a few times. The only way around it was to make sure your installing GameEx with a newer version of the plugin. Don't download the version attached to this thread. Noone else has reported saving problems in this version, so I'm not sure what could be going wrong.
  10. When Tom fixes launching PC games, this wrapper is still worth using because it skips the menu and goes straight to the game.
  11. Here is a wrapper I wrote for it. Place it in the THOTD3 folder and run it instead of the game's exe. hod3_launcher.zip
  12. I see your problem already, you don't have the keycodes assigned to your button's. They are set to NOTHING. To have custom mappings to work you have to also map keycodes to them. Let me know how you go.
  13. Game & Watch games are also emulated on the GBA http://au.gamespot.com/gba/puzzle/gamewatc...ery4/index.html
  14. Hey night why not put a link to your theme site in your signature?
  15. Okay I also need your LED.ini from the GameEx plugin folder, and you need to tell me which buttons/keycodes are not lighting up. Thanks.

    ROFLMA!
  17. Dont think I havn't noticed the speed increase Tom, it's a big one. Very cool
  18. Okay a few have requested this... This little pack is for converting a GameEx V1 Theme to a V2 Theme. Basically make a copy of the V1 theme you want to convert. Copy all the files from MEDIA folder included in the attached archive over your new theme. --- Below bit is only for if you want to change the size of the theme --- If you want to make a theme of different size other than 1024x768, then remove every section of Theme.ini except whats under [General], change the following lines to be your new size: [General] Width=1024 Height=768 XRESOLUTION=1024 YRESOLUTION=768 Change Width, Height, XRESOLUTION and YRESOLUTION to be the new size of the theme. The available sizes are: - 640x288 - 640x480 - 800x600 - 1024x576 - 1024x768 Next open the Theme up in the Theme Editor. It should hopefully create the correct layout for your new size. Save it, and that should be it. Enjoy ThemeV1ToV2.zip
  19. Looks like your right mate, just had a look. Only mpg is currently supported in the Theme Editor. I didn't even realise this. I will have to do an update some time.
  20. You can request a moderator to delete it if you want.
  21. Can you zip up a few of the non-working cfg files and attach them here.
  22. I think it's Shift-PrtScn to take a snapshot of the whole screen and Alt-PrtScn takes a snapshot of the active Window and puts it in the clipboard. Then alt-tab out of GameEx if your in fullscreen mode and open Paint, then paste the clipboard in there then save the picture. If you have trouble getting it to work, newer keyboards may have an "F Lock" button which is used to turn on the Function keys. Sometimes you have to toggle this so that PrtScn will work.
  23. Add the following to Theme.ini [General] Version=2 Width=800 Height=600 XRESOLUTION=800 YRESOLUTION=600 I believe the Theme Editor will take care of the rest. I'm not sure though I don't think I've tried it Oh yeah you will also have to copy the tool bar graphics from a V2 theme. The reason for this is I thought that one day someone might want to make a tool bar that doesn't look like the default one. The way I changed the graphics for V2 themes was supposed to make this easier. To be honest, I now think it was probably a wrong move as I don't think anyone will ever want to change the tool bar. Oh well.
  24. Never heard of this one. Um, I don't know what it could be. Perhaps try a different theme?
  25. Oh I didn't know what your were saying when you said "sink". V-sink made me realise you were talking about vsync. TV's are generally stuck at 60 Hz refresh rate, so setting vsync on a TV is probably not a good option. But of course there may be an issue of tearing. The reason VSync can effect the sound is because if you have the refresh rate of your output device (in this case your TV) set to 60Hz and you turn on vsync, then without frame skipping emulation may have trouble updating in that 60Hz range. I would turn off "Sync to monitor refresh" and "Wait for vertical sync" in Mame. I would also set to Direct3d instead of Direct Draw.
