  1. I actually asked for this feature awhile back. As of now it is not possible but I'd bet Tom is working on it. I wanted to have a forground each system as well as each game under that system. Thought we might be able to have a topic in the forum to put the various fortegrounds we made for all to share. I invisioned taking a foreground and inserting it for the forground in Draco's Space Invaders theme. If you madde the forground with the same openings as his forground, you would simply switch forgrounds for each system or game. I know I simplfied it and i'm sure it would be alot harder to do it. Do think the commuinity would jump in and make lots of foregrounds to share.
  2. Thanks Tom
  3. Thanks fRequEnCy Box was checked. I unchecked it. Got out of the setup wizard. Reopened it , rechecked the box and now works ??.
  4. I'm sorry Draco, I can't find that setting. I've gone thru the menu a number of times and even did a search.
  5. Have never had to mess with the menu editor before. I checked and it was not checked. I checked it and mame is back the way it should be. But I don'y have emulated games, favorites, multimedia etc. Before the update I had it exactly like your screen shot of your Space Invaders theme. And I'm use that theme.
  6. Srated GameEx this morning, and the update changed my view again to thumbs. While fixing that, I messed up and now Mame no longer has its own page. Everything is bunched together on the start page. I've played with it now for about an hour and still can't figure out what is changed.
  7. Posted Yesterday, 11:33 AM When ever I start up GameEx I have to wait while it loads various settings and Databases for systems that I'm not going to be playing. Since we are picking a system from a list, why not only load the settings and database for the selected system at the time I select it. Seems like this would reduce the cpu time and memory useage. I known it only loads up a handfull of the settings and databases, but why load setings and databases for these others systems that I'm not going to play. When we escape from that system and go back to the list GameEx could remove that database and setting from memory.
  8. Unfortunately, I turn mine off every day. With 200 plus emulators it takes awhile to load. At my age every second counts My problems is when I'm adding emulators or tweating. (always tweaking), Everytime I get out of GameEx and make my changes, I restart GameEx and have to wait each time. How do I move this Draco to the other section.

  10. Did something similar. Changed the name of the roms folder to a different name. Created a roms folder with the old name and only put in several roms. Ran GameEx. Changed the view to list in the theme, exited GameEx, and put the video path back in. Don't know why Gameex reacted like it did or what caused it. Thanks to Adultery and Draco for their help. On a side note for Draco have you created any more system pics for your theme. I don't see one for AAE Sega Computer 3000 (SC-3000) Sega Super Control Station (SF-7000) Sega Pico TurboGrafx-16 CD
  11. Here is my GameEx.ini. Been working on this for several hours. Gonna call it a nite and try again tommorow. Was wrong problem happens with any two other theme i've tried
  12. Found two setting to true, changed to false. Fidn't fix problem. I tried a default theme and it worked fine. Went back to space invaders and problem returned ????????????
  13. Evening Draco, All ready checked that. I have text everywhere, except when I click on Mame, then All Mame Games. That is where it wants to show images. All other emulators and menus are fine and show text.
  14. I recently changed to the Space Invaders Theme. I am testig it and setting it up on a slow computer before porting it my cab. My problem is when I open all mame games the view is showing the different picture boxes and not a text list. Becasue it requires so much computing power it never loads the images so that i can change the view. As a result it locks up my computer. Is there a way to change the view in the ini file so I can load the list and not the boxes. If so where do I make the change
  15. Another great fix.
  16. Thank You Tom.
  17. Thank You Tom for all you do.
  18. The 4 items have new updates and downloading them will update the sets. I don't know of a way to remove a single item. You can uncheck the box that says check for updates and it won't show you any updates. Unless space is a problem I'd get the 3d boxess and add a path for them in GameEx. They look cool and someone in the community went to alot of work to make them. Be a shame not to use them on your system.
  19. What set do you use when no-Intro doesn't exist?
  20. I too want them all for collecting purposes. But, as Frequency stated I want a list of all the available games without duplicates. I've toyed with the Hyperlist and it gives me a pretty good list but it still leaves out a lot of games that are not duplicates. I've also played with Dato-matic and because it's only No intro it requires a lot of editing to add the other games. Due to the naming different naming conventions of the different sets, it can become a nighmare trying to get a complete set from all of the them and have no duplicates.
  21. Unfortunally I tend to be a purist and want everything. I tend to use no-intro sets. The problem I run into is there a lot of systems that No-intro doesn't support and then I use TOSEC. TOSEC as you said have a lot in their set that are bad etc. that I don't what. But what In have found is there is a lot of roms in the other sets that are really good but No-Intro doesn't have. I also tend to have homebrews, prototypes that are really good and aren't in any of the sets. There a number of games from members here that don't show up in any set and are excellent. I think that i'll continue to have my sets as above for audit purposes. But, create a set called "Myset" and put in the best from all of them and point Gameex and Emumovies to that romset. I was hoping for a way to avoid all the copying and pruning as I'm sure like everyone else here, I already tend to spent more time cleaning up my sets then actually playing.
  22. Under the rom section of each of my system I Have the following setup: I:/Roms / Atari 5200/roms No-Intro Goodroms TOSEC Unclassified I then point GameEx and the Emumovies download service to the Atari 5200/roms directory This then gives me alot of videos, roms, snaps etc. of duplicate games with slightly different names. And even with merging alot of duplication. How do others set your system up avoid the duplication that take up HD space and slows the frontend down. I want to get away from the duplication of roms, videos etc. but I also don't want to leave a rom out that is maybe in one set and not another.
  23. I running in excess of 200 emulated systems including MAME, MESS etc.. I have these on 4.5T of external harddrives. I have all the snaps, videos etc. from Emumovies on these drives and all the roms. On dvd's and cd's I have another 2T of CD based games. The biggest problem is not getting HD space because costs have gone way down. The problem becomes the more space you use up the slower the system runs.
  24. Heck, the service is so good I didn't even use my Gameex Coupon. I paid full price. Well worth it.
  25. Thank you Circo...........
