  1. I miss the status updates. I used to love spreading my misery and frustrations to ever bugger else via them. I'm kind like that. I say bring back the status updates. In all seriousness, if people got into the habit of using them, it'd be dead interesting. One saying "Setting up PCSXR2" another saying "Designing new theme", another "getting lightguns working on cab." Damn.... I have been tooo long in this confounded hobby.
  2. On mine, both Hide Desktop set to No and Show Desktop set to Yes for specific Emu. However, GE still seems to run HideOS between GameLaunch and Emu start. A process/focus map: 15:05:07-50 [P] 14380 | 0792074 | ProcMessage | GameEx 15:05:11-55 [H] 14380 | 1776556 | GameEx|Playing:|Tai Fu - Wrath of the Tiger|57/60| | GameEx 15:05:12-03 [X] NO FOREGROUND WINDOW 15:05:12-61 [P] 11792 | 1251386 | GameExHideOS | HideOS 15:05:12-78 [P] 13280 | 1383390 | Focus Spy | FocusMonitor.vshost 15:05:13-60 [P] 09096 | 1776630 | PCSXR | pcsxr 15:05:14-81 [T] 09096 | 1776630 | PCSXR | State 0 | pcsxr ignore "Focus Spy" - that's the process logging the active window/process. My worry about deleting the HideOS file is that it'd be re-installed on update. Wonder if any way to have global setting "disable HideOS" or whether this'd be a ball ache? Could easily knock together a script to check for and delete the exe on GE startup, I suppose. Bet it feels like "small beer" in comparison to getting Evo ready + out!
  3. Permission to shoot me as I'm probably missing something really obvious. I have "Hide Desktop" set to No in Display settings, yet HIdeOS is still running on game launch. Searched through settings, can't find any others to trigger HideOS. I'm sure I've asked this before, but can't find the thread. Any ideas? Papers attached. GameEx.ini Theme.ini
  4. @Kustom Kid - nice to see MarqueeMasher native in the wild. Looks like you set up defaults for each system too? Nice work. @SIMPLY_AUSTIN - nice promo of GE, fella. Go UK arcade scene!
  5. Whutever happened to Mr Terrorvision? Liver failiur?

  9. Rez... you'll never know yer score, mind..
  10. Don't worry Tom, we'll keep you out of a job... (we can't have the father of gameex being salaried by the man) It could be the emu thing. I guess we all wait with baited breath the arrival of x360 + ps3 emulators - and there's probably a bit of a wait for the hardware to catch up to support these. I guess the hobby's also entering its autumn years (when was mame? 2000?) - maybe the peak being 5/6 years ago when people started pulling everything together with cab builds, emulators and front ends. I still think there's gaps though: - Comprehensive game controls database for non-mame games - Comprehensive assets repository for related images/manuals etc (programmer pictures anyone?) ...off the top of my head. We should make a "to-do list."
  11. A few years ago when I happened upon this hobby/obsession/life-thief, it felt like things were abuzz with lots of new innovations + new stuff happening every month. It feels across the board (e.g. also on byoac, ngemu etc) that things have hit a bit of a lull, with less of a buzz about it. Or maybe it's just me getting used to it...
  12. That really does showcase GameEx fantastically. Great job on the logos accommodation too. Will save a job...
  13. Cool - we're becoming a republic? Every cloud has a silver lining, I suppose. ;p
  14. Looks spiffing. Just in case it saves you a lot of hassle, CPWizBiz allows you to place 'stretched' images or videos via the Marquee function. This can happen dynamically (point it to a folder for a system and any images/videos matching the game or rom name are used) or you can do it manually per-game. Vid of a 'video marquee' in action below and one of how you set-up marquees below that (hopefully showing idea behind how to set-up marquees). If does look helpful for your task, maybe download to play around with, but I am nearly finished re-coding it, making it a lot more solid, responsive and faster. I'd wait for the new release for any 'final application'
  15. OK - so interested in the multi-monitor side of this. How are you splitting the middle display? Is the top an image and the bottom videos? If so, couldn't you just stretch the image and video to your new display dimensions?
  16. Another idea may be 3 smaller holes (5mm?) in your CPanel. If you put it in the centre (for when your playing pinball) and then 2 where players will stand when using joysticks, this would blast air upwards towards the player's face? The smaller holes may provide a bit more pressure too? Just a thought.
  17. Or.... run a shower hose from the ejector slot, into your trouser leg and up the back of your t-shirt to your hat. Then, ever time your cab blows off: 1
