  1. < chants "build thread, build thread, build thread...." Who sent you a pic of my soldering?
  2. Thank god for that! God knows why I was recommending the gameex.ini file when it's obviously the gameex.ini file that's needed. Please ignore my previous advice, helpman and post the gameex.ini file instead... (one cannot over-labour an over laboured gag by its very definition. Just hope helpman forgives you all for not taking his post seriously - whereas I am the epitome of sensibility and sincerity)
  3. Good point. Alternatively, the gameex.ini may help..... Only messin, helpman
  4. Are you looking for feedback?
  5. Tidy. Is it difficult to shorten the usb cable? Does it effect its performance?
  6. Tempest is the author. Sadly, he also describes himself as retired, so not sure how things stand with this app.
  7. Just to chime in - it may be helpful to have your gameex.ini file, helpman. Whatcha reacon, Draco?
  8. I think your project would have real value. For example, there are around 1,300 PlayStation titles. If you could raise 10 peoples' interest in this - that'd leave you with 130 each. if you did 5 per day - you'd be done in a month. I did look at the mame icons with renewed interst. I though they were pseudo-pixelated, but they're just little pictures. Therefore the task of producing them would just be simple image editing and formatting. You might have to translate them into a specific file format? (haven't looked that far). Lastly, I made an app specifically for collaborative image projects like this: https://gamesetmatch.codeplex.com/ So the task is do-able and the tools are there. The real challenge will be to find collaborators, which can be very difficult in this scene... And of course, i'm not sure if GE or Evo can accommodate icons for none mame games lost. That doesn't mean that a set of game icons for systems wouldn't have value, though! Oh and then there's which naming format you use...
  9. Didn't know where to put this - but thought I'd share. For a couple of years now, been trying to find the best screen cap software that's versatile/fast etc etc. Finally found something that's just amazing - does everything - grabs destop/cam/audio + deals with fullscreen games no probs. Also allows you to put picture in picture of other displays and windows. Seriously - coudln't find anything it couldn't do. Best of all - the recording framerate seems phenomenally high (I was essentially capturing a 1920x1080 screen, with another 2 displays as picture in picture + two audio tracks + I'm sure it's at full vid framerate @ 30fps. I've tried loads of other software capture progs - this just blows them out the water! Couple it with the audio software mixer I also found and you've got a fab vid production suite. Bestest bestest bit is they're both proper free - OS + donation ware. Just thought I'd share if any of you are needing/wanting to make vids. They are: Open Broadcaster Software: https://obsproject.com/ Voice Meter Bannana: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/index.htm
  10. Skegness:
  11. Man, that is difficult. First to mind would be schmups - 1942 or R-Type, can;'t decide. I was crap at them, mind They allowed girls into the arcades where you lived, tthurman!? Wasn't like that in Skegness. Mind you, it was the 80s.
  12. I'm not aware of a way and it might be that the Mame Games List page is coded differently to the Emulator Games List page (not sure). However, it feels a little academic as I'm not aware of any game icon sets for non-mame systems and to create them to completion would be a huge piece of work. Like the idea though. I'm normally a so-and-so for leaping on seemingly impossible completionist ideas and enthusiastically saying "cummon - we can do it." But the idea of creating individual mame-style icons for the thousands of games on each system..well not sure it's do-able. Unless you want to start a new user project, shroud? Essentially this a a User Enhancement and Requests fingy - so you could log a ticket in there.
  13. Noticed Headkaze had been busy uploading obscure emulators! And, as ever, the "invisible hand" of GreatFlash improves things continually. I always feel there's a risk that database toilers go unnoticed - appreciated here, fella.
  14. Seconded. Matthew Smith. Ben Dagleish. Rob Hubbard. Liverpool studios. Peter Molyneux. etc etc. It's not very often I'm patriotic, but I think a lot of modern gaming's roots lie in the UK.
  15. Bonkers innit? Imagine telling someone in 1980 that one day your watch will tell you when someone over the other side of the world has just started playing pacman. And then you tell them that they can watch it on their phone, which they are carrying around in their pocket.
  16. Apologies, Tom. Duly noted.
  17. Ta very muchly. Added with credit. I did do a quick search and it looks like there's no other command line switches?
  18. good thinking, batman.
  19. So - the kids never had it so good, no? I gone got myself a PS4, and find out that you can live-stream gameplay! So I'm kicking back + playing a bit of fallout 4 tonight if you want to watch + put me off my game:
  20. Just to bring you up to speed, Hans, he actually finished it. Personally, I love the juxtaposition of his wife's ornaments (towards end of the vid). At least, I assume they're hers!
  21. I do now! That'd been a cool noise when you were 8. Oh who am I kiddin' - cool noise!
  22. Red's on it! I'd never heard of this either. Made a bare bones Wiki for Higan if you guys know the command lines: http://gameex.info/wiki/index.php/Higan
  23. Dunno about the "solid" (personally speaking naturally)
  24. Way hack, that is.
  25. You did allow it to update the registry? You can just do it again just to make sure - it wont hurt anything. Depending on how confident you are, you can check that it has 'installed' the key by examining the registry: Press Windows Key + R type "regedit" + press return navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GameEx There should be a node called "Key" on the right hand side - obviously don't post that here! Don't change anything in the registry Let us know how you get on.
