Thanks, that's the one I'm going to use. I owe you. Emph

I just wanna use this emu for a while as my controller is giving me a headache with MAME at the moment. How do I get GameEx to present the game names nicely, and so on? Emph
-
Just out of curiosity, what MAME builds do you guys use? Regular MAME, MAME32, MAME32 Plus!, or MAME32FX? Or something else? Thanks. Emph
-
Some people (including myself) has a lot of problems with controls hanging and so on with the X-Arcade Dual, but this is ONLY in MAME. PC games and everything else works tip-top. Emph
-
Thanks for the tip, dynamik3! Powerstip is cool, but not free. Emph
-
Yes, very nice. Although the old one wasn't bad in any way. Emph

But, GameEx's functionality for sending keys is still working, right? Check out my feature suggestion in the thread where you do that: Feature description in short: Totally hide loading process for MAME games. Now that GameEx has functionality for sending keys to MAME only when needed (skip disclaimer), how does that work exactly? Does GameEx 'sense' when there's a dialog window open in MAME? If that's so, could it be possible for GameEx to completely hide all the "loading", "decoding" and such messages until the game itself is loaded? As the game is loaded, GameEx could either display a black screen or a "initializing game" screen instead. Or perhaps some artwork from that game? Emph
-
Wow, that is very cool! Is it possible to modify the patches to work with other MAME builds as well? Such as MAME32Plus! or MAME32FX? Emph

Completed Feature Requests (Moved)
emphatic replied to jr9770's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Support to view PCB images in the game info page for MAME games. There's a new MAME build called MAME32 Extended that already has support for this, so there are also .dat-files around for this. http://www.progettoemma.net/dany69/ Emph -
I have a coin mechanism in my MAME cabinet since I feel it adds to the experience. I don't see how a coin counter would add to the experience though. Unless you were an operator in the past, there would be no nostalgic addition to the overall cabinet authenticity either. Right? But what if it was a GameEx live! only feature? Emph
-
Thanks. I use the X-Arcade Dual in my cabinet, so I don't suffer from the gamepad support much. Emph

I've had Dreamcast games running before in my cabinet with a lot of workarounds to get it to appear nice and work just as well. Now that a lot lot of fine tuning for emulators other than MAME is available for GameEx users, which is the Dreamcast emu that runs most games at nice speeds AND how do I set them up in GameEx right now with minimum hassle? I have mostly .cdi images for my games, but also some other image files like .img and .iso. I have been using DaemonTools to mount these before (best results for me). Please advice Emph

Wow! It's really hard to keep up with all the GREAT updates (having two small girls to take care of) but Tom and whoever else is involved, you're doing a kick-ass job! Emph
-
I compare playing for example Twin Cobra in MAME and then playing my Twin Cobra arcade PCB in my JAMMA cabinet. The response time difference is VERY noticeable. Emph
-
Wow! This is a HUGE DEAL. And it means a lot to me at least. Great work! So how big is the keyboard latency for PC (non-emulated) games? Is it as noticeable as the delay in MAME? Emph
-
Oh no! Just kidding. Emph

Cool, that's actually sort of what I meant with this: "It would also enable letting both players navigate through GameEx menus using the control of your choice. (Checkbox in configuration)". But your way is more flexible I guess. My additional vote goes to "E-Book / Comic book reader support" Emph
-
Name: Integrated full control key remapping An integration of remapping of keys (some use AutoHotKey, some use other apps like Joy2Key) into GameEx. It would work like this: In configuration wizard, as you setup your emulator/app/e-book there's a checkbox; "Enable custom key mapping option" and then another checkbox "Show link for remapper window". If both options are checked, as you run GameEx and select any game for any Emu/PC Game/App you will see a link on the info screen for each game "Remap keys", if only the first option is checked you won't see the link, but GameEx will apply your custom controls upon launch of the game. It would also enable letting both players navigate through GameEx menus using the control of your choice. (Checkbox in configuration) Emph
-
Do you have links to the emus please? Note: Not the roms, but the emulators? Emph
-
Have you tried starting the setup wizard, and using the settings for choosing the keys for GameEx to use? I'm very tired at the moment, so excuse the fuzzy english. Emph

What are the key mappings for your controls? Do you by any chance have "o" or "k" for you firebuttons? Because if that's the case, when GameEx is set to "skip disclaimer", it will send okokokokokokokokokokokoko to MAME in order to skip all of the "press ok" messages. If not, I don't know. Emph

In the program group on your windows start menu, go to your Raiden III folder. Now there are two different shortcuts here, one i red I think (start the game) and the other is either black, white or both. That's the "Settings" shortcut. You have to figure out yourself what goes where though, but it's all just a little bit of trial and error. Emph
