  1. Can you both post your logs, OS info, and hardware info. Thanks, Tom
  2. I do like the sound of it on concept. Are you thinking along the lines of a Item on the Start Page which will select AND launch a random game across MAME and all emulators, or just simply jump to a random point in the current list based on a keypress? I personally think the first option is nice, and if its an item on the start menu, will fit in nicely to the GameEx design, as it can be turned on or off. I think I'll implement that. Good idea!
  3. Do you think this might be something to do with the way you are launching GameEx from Sage perhaps?
  4. Have you tried setting the resolution to a proper ArcadeVGA resolution? In other words 640 x 288? Simply turning on the ArcadeVGA setting should not affect anything big at all or cause a crash when one was not happening at all. It really only comes into affect when you launch a MAME game, it does not affect GameEx in any other way. GameEx ArcadeVGA usage really changes when you make the resolution 640 X 288 rather than the ArcadeVGA settings. Are you sure nothing else has changed?
  5. Hi Joey, no idea at the moment sorry. Perhaps you can be a bit more descriptive about exactly what you mean be screen flicker? Have you tried different resolutions? Tom
  6. Evilpenguin, No idea sorry. Your message seems to hint this is with lots of emulators. Are you sure its not with one (or two) in particular? Jeff, oh well I thought we conquered that one. Did you try the sleep setting as I suggested?
  7. I like this.
  8. Are you sure this is not just by design?? After exiting a game, GameEx 'resumes' the sone that was playing. It also loops the songs in the queue when it reaches the end. So if only one song has been selected it will keep repeating. The Jukebox 'queues' songs. Think of it like a physical jukebox. The first song you select is the first in te queue, any songs selected after that are added to the queue and will play next or later. Check out the keys to skip through the playlist, or use the mouse.
  9. Hi, This can probably be resolved to switching to a recent oficial MAME build. I dont think the custom combo is causing this. http://mame.net This has been reported before with an old version of MAME32. Latest is 0.94 I think. I suspect your running a much older or different version to that. Some web sites are out of date, so although you may think you have a new version you probably don't.

    Error

Hi, Sound like this is deffinitly not a GameEx issue. You are experiencing corruption on your hard disk. There are a few reasons why this could be happening, probably hardware, but here is not the place to ask. Sorry.
  11. Sorry Toonces, no time yet.
  12. Hi, yes I like this idea, have thought about it before. Look out for it soon. Thanks, Tom

Just call me 'da man' ! I am very pleased you have it working now. All the best, Tom.

Hi, yes, I can see its an issue with the Sound card. GameEx should be using the primary sound driver, and as it seems to not be able to use it. I think that's what's hosing up. I don't really have any suggestions on how to fix this though at the moment. You could experiment a little with you sound config in windows. Or try reinistalling the sound card etc, maybe in a different slow. Let us know how you get on. Thanks, Tom
  15. Just to let you know, I'll be out of the Country shortly now for a couple of weeks, and wont be on the forums much.

Hi, I will try and get you a solution for this and help. Can you try turning off the Jukebox and Playlist, and see if that makes any difference? Do you get sounds in GamEx when navigating? What sound card is it? Could you ensure you have the latest drivers for it, and latest version of DirectX. Could you also post your log please?
  17. Hi Chris, Only possible thing I can think of giving back a little CPU utilitisation by adjusting the setting under Tweaks/Performance. That might do it as you have a powerfull machine. Also, is this still an issue with the Jukebox disabled.

    Error

Hi, are you getting this problem when launching from MCE?
  19. I think I have found the problem, and am just uploading a new release. Should be uploaded in about 10 minutes. (3.45) Can you both try the new version and let me know?
  20. Are you both running .net Framework 1.1 SP1?
  21. In order to help troubleshoot, could you see if you can figure out what filter it is using on the 49 games. What do they have in common?

I'm thinking something has changed in recent versions of MAME perhaps. What version are you using, and would you be able to try a version prior to 0.92 to be sure about this?
  23. You can run all games at the same resoultion by modifying the cmd line options in GameEx. Look at Usage and Congifuration in MAME32 help file for cmd options. Otherwise you can create an ini file for these games. In the MAME ini directory. Tom
  24. Please post the log (after crash) and gameex.ini. I also recommend you at least try a different version of MAME. I am pretty sure its a MAME issue.
  25. It sounds like a MAME issue. Try a different version. What version are you using? What OS are you using?
