  1. I know where your coming from about Mothers! I often see my PC's screwed up but with a sparkling keyboard, when she decides to come round and clean! By the look of your log I think what happened, Create snaps was exited with the escape key. Then later started again by the enter key. Blame Mom I think, rather than a bug.
  2. It is already on a timer, about 10 seconds.
  3. I dont know, I have serious smeg ups on my HTPC now since messing around with the unstable builds. MAME only works within GameEx! Even if I run the exact same batch file it just does not launch the game, with no MAME errors. Whats up with that!
  4. Funnily enough I am having similar issues on my HTPC PC. My games only work from GameEx or an old CMD line version of MAME! Any 32 version directly the games just dont start with no error. I am still trying to figure out whats up. This happened around when I installed .99u6 I think. I've deleted pretty much all the configuration files but still same issue. I am assuming the latest MAME builds screwed something up.
  5. I think its the bypass disclaimer setting that's causing this, as reported yesterday. Have you got it turned on?
  6. It seems to be an issue with the bypass disclaimer setting. Are you using it?
  7. Its been on my list for some time, just not a high priority bug. Thanks anyway though.
  8. 99u6 and 99u7 are causing various problems with GameEx at least on my system. I'm getting GameEx just silently exit when MAME crashes. Which its seems to do quite a lot with these latest unstable builds. There also seem to be a few issues with mp3s etc playing in the background, I'd say as a rule now, really dont use alpha builds with GameEx, unless just for testing. It seems its become the in thing to use the absolute latest release of MAME, but if you want a stable setup use a stable release. Cheers.
  9. See post about 99u7. GameEx has a lot of issues with it such as random exits.
  10. Thanks for reporting Julian. Both should be fixed in 5.04. Upping it now. Can you please tell me though what version of MAME you are using, and are you using the Bypass disclaimer setting? Cheers
  11. The latter. I can implement it as a configuration option/s its just never something thats going to be for the Low/Medium Res Arcade Monitor crowd.
  12. 7th September 2005 - GameEx 5.00 Video/DVD on screen display now displaying again, and now always showing when it needs to. Fixes/tweaks to MAME bypass warning and disclaimer settings. Should fix functions2.isplaying start up error that some users where experiencing. The biggest change is you can now specify an advanced configuration file for any emulator. Featuring joytokey style Joystick to keyboard mapping. Play visual pinball with a gamepad! [*]Ability to check for additional processes before exiting a game. [*]Monitor X-Arcade/SlikStik/Back button for exiting game, and/or Escape key. [*]The ability to send a key to the emulator to exit cleanly instead of ending the process. Example: Alt-F4 for Project 64, Q for ZSNES [*]Specify a joystick combination to exit emulator. [*]Also in this release: Enhanced SendKeys functions for emulators and applications. Now uses API calls, allowing SendKeys to work with all apps. Use Gamepad to key mapping for daphne, including credit and start button.
  13. I think this is the version of MAME you are using, in that it might not be shutting down properly. Could you try a different version of MAME, just so I can rule out GameEx. Thanks for your words, that's what keeps me going.
  14. I'm sorry but zips are not supported in the latest version, at least for the moment. Still you should be in for a trreat with other features for such a big upgrade, at least I hope
  15. i'm pretty sure its the drivers then, lots of people have issues with that. Symptons are as you say, runs really slow.
  16. Fixed.
  17. I notice your using an Nvidia card, what version drivers are you using? Theres issues with newer versions. Theres more info on the docs page. If thats not the issue, please run the debug version again now its working and post the log. So I can see if any other exceptions are going down. As I said though please try the version above, I think it will fix issues with your modifed theme. EDIT: Are you saying your game videos are now not working with 4.99? Thanks. Tom
  18. [Also posted under Feature Requests] Just so I dont raise hopes, Vertical support is never likely to happen. The reason is simple, in that the GameEx GUI will just not fit on a vertically reported display at Low res Arcade Monitor resolutions. It would need to be running at at least 1024X768 and as low res arcade monitors cant support this resolution thats the reason. If there was actually demand for running GameEx rotated but at high res, then I will certainly implement it. What are your thoughts?

  20. Might sound like a silly question, but your not still using the debug version are you? Here is the latest full production release build here. I'd also be interested to know if it works with the other theme too. Cheers. GameEx.zip
  21. It seems you have a custom Background video in Themes\Default - Default. This is causing the error, although may not be the video itself. What is this video, does it play OK in Windows Media Player? It will be called bak.avi or bak.mpg. Try renaming that to something else, and see if GameEx works now. I suspect it will but check out the video is valid too, and you have the codec installed. Let me know, and many thanks for the donation wrench. Cheers. Tom.
  22. Its on the docs page, but the way the GameEx user interface is, its really not likely to ever support Vertical displays. So sorry, but don't hold your breath. I've heard Mala is a very good alternative if your looking for a front end that supports verticallly mounted monitors.
  23. I dont think its a MAME issue as MamU suggested. Can you replace GameEx.exe with the attached Debug version and post the log? Cheers. GameEx.zip
  24. Can you try this version. GameEx.zip
  25. Can you try this version.
