  1. Can you try 3.64 (just uploaded)
  2. 3rd April 2005 - GameEx 3.64 I have a strong suspicion I forgot to turn on exception checking in the last version, so if you had problems please try this version. Now features a configurable snap delay for the time gameex waits before showing a snap or video. Its slow by default so if you feel snaps are taking to long to show up or the timing is wrong for you reconfigure the setting under Tweaks/Performance. Medium or Fast is pretty much how it was before. The GameEx install now includes Rob's (Pavolv70) amazing BlueEx themes directly with the install. These have been updated to work with the latest version of GameEx. When in Service mode there is a menu item to delete All favorites.
  3. Hi Evil, i am not too sure. I was thinking the .net framework was not installed but you say you can run the configuration application? All I can suggest is try uninstalling the .net framework and reinstall it (direct from Microsoft).
  4. If anyone else has either 3.63 working OK or has crashes please post here.
  5. That sounds a bit worrying. Can you replace GameEx.exe with this version, and 'email' me the log. Assuming it crashes. Thanks, Tom GameEx.zip
  6. OK, it's going to happen anyway. thanks
  7. Also wanted to say that GameEx does support tthe X-Arcade by default anyway. Cheers. Tom
  8. I didn't know but, I guess we just answered the question At least on your system at 1024 x768 @ 32 bit. I'd be interested to know if 800 X 600 @ 16 runs on your system at 32MB. Perhaps you could test for me? and no problem, its helped me get a better idea of requirements needed for future posts like this.
  9. Secondly I wanted to see if the display of Date/Time could be optional. And also if time display could have a AM/PM / 24 hr (military style) display choice? Yes, at some stage. Im not a yankee either. And on another matter, could you line up the descriptive text with the buttons like I've drawn in the attached picture? 'Cause now it's kinda floating somewhere in the middle. No. And no problem making feature requests. Feel free.

    jukebox

You need to import (add files) your music into the Windows Media Player Library, not export (sound like you already have this). Enable the Jukebox. Run GameEx, go to jukebox. If no music shows up Select Playlist then hit All Music. You should also be able to select any other playlist that is defined in Windows Media Player. You dont need to export. GameEx Jukebox reads from the WMP Library.
  11. I am afraid your out of luck if you want to use OpenGL. At least for the moment.
  12. Yep, my life is too sometimes
  13. And the correct answer is A Just File Delete Gamelist.txt and Gamelist.ini
  14. Yes do that. I did all this as I thought it was a bug in GameEx, but it seems its down to your config (work done will be useful in future though). Seems like it does not want to blit using directdraw anymore after its drawn the background. You could also try 16-bit colour and running at a lower res.
  15. Can you delete the themes directory completley. Then reinstall 3.63. Then replace the exe and then post the log. Can you tell me what video card you have, and do you have new drivers for it? Thanks, Tom
  16. And again please. GameEx.zip
  17. Hi, Please do the same with this version.. GameEx.zip
  18. Please extract the GameEx.exe in the attached zip over your current one. Run and then post the log. Thanks. Tom GameEx.zip
  19. I need your config. Can you post Config\gameex.ini. Thanks.
  20. Sorry, I dont plan to add support for any more builds of MAME other than official and legal ones. I did not realise MAME More is an illegal build, and I certainly dont want to get tied up in that or have any such talk on this forum I am afraid, and I certainly dont condone it Sorry but my official stance is to abide by MAME Dev's wishes and licence. I won't risk jeopardising this project or the wonderfull thing that is MAME. Use a legal build, or go elsewhere. If this was Mame.net youd be barred already. Tom
  21. I guess I am getting old, not too used to slang/text/abbreviations Well at least it did not require a coding fix!
  22. 29th April 2005 - GameEx 3.63 Fixes loosing MAME games after log off or shutdown Improved and fixed transition between Radio and Jukebox Optimised/removed some of the code, should run a bit faster now. Added German translation by CU cupid Added Spanish translation by DoctorM Thanks. To all: All the translations need a little update because of new features. Please chip in if you can help. [*] Updated support files. Please support these guys. GameEx would not be the same without them http://www.arcade-history.com/ http://www.mameworld.net/catlist/ http://www.mameworld.net/mameinfo http://nplayers.arcadebelgium.be http://fe.donkeyfly.com/controls/controls.php
  23. Thank you for providing detailed information. I have found the bug now. It will be fixed in the next release. Thanks again. Tom.
  24. 'Minimum requirements' you already have, and there on the web site. Browse the forum and find out what people are using to get a better idea if people dont respond to this. I am still trying to get a better idea myself. Once I have more info I will post on the web site. Its impossible to know how fast GameEx will run on as it depends on Hardware your Software, your OS, your Drivers, and how much you have tuned your PC, and know about PC's. Ive had it grind to a crawl on 400Mhz PC but run OK on a 550Mhz Compaq Laptop and play all the old skool games. Others have pretty good results on an 800Mhz, as have I. You say it runs badly on a 1.2. So its hard to anwser. I'd say anything above a 2.2Ghz with a decent video card and 512MB and it will run at full speed, so 'recommended' requirements would be that.
  25. I also want to clarify for others making posts like this. The following: GameEx is a high end Front End. It is developed to run on the latest hardware. Much like the latest game software and windows media centre. Do NOT expect every single feature to run a 60FPS on anything less than a 2.4GHZ, and Radeon 8500. GameEx will run on older harder: In order to make it run on older hardware, you need to disable certain features, optimize the PC (thoroughly) have all the latest updates and modern driver, and follow all advice in the docs, and this forum. It requires effort and some skill to run GameEx on older systems with acceptable userability. If it still does not run good enough for you, ask for help. If noone can help - try another front end or build/buy a new pc.
