  1. I thought that's where I said I was going to put it?
  2. I am saying convert you A4 sheet to HTML. Add it is an HTML app. Create a post it size sheet. Write: For instructions select More applications, Help & Controls. Post this smaller size paper to your TV. Help & Controls would be your page explaining whatever you like. Rename More programs & Games to More programs and HELP
  3. You cant. They would appear under More Games & Applications, or on the Start Menu if your using Flat Menus
  4. Well thats quite possible, and easy too. We already have a web browser. Now do we have the option for image, web page, or either (selectable), or autodetect based on file extension (my preference)? I'm assuming you prefer my approach over Smiff's? Smiff, you could always do your approach by just setting up the controls as html applications. I am pretty sure the GameEx web browser will load file:// shortcuts and probably just images on there own. Do you want to try it and see if it works?
  5. Smiff ,please give a bit more detail on your solution, I am not really sure where or how this row your talking about is going to appear? What's everyone else think? [i use that res too, with powerstrip on a 4:3 XGA Projector] Laters PS. Why does the PJ64 site say your missing in action!?
  6. Glad you find a solution. Although if you have time, would you mine doing a right up on how to do it that's easy for all users. I think this info would be great for others. I may even be able to build it into GameEx and make it seamless, or at least add it to the docs page. Can you help please? Tom
  7. Yeah, not keen, sorry. Let's see what others think. I am also seeing this as a way to display more than a controller. Like a help, information screen, or a Nostalgia screen with pictures of the system. This would need to be viewed full screen. Also most people are over the moon if they can get upto 640X480 on a cab or TV. I dont want different features for different res's. GameEx not = Mamewah
  8. In that case, please detail how exactly that would work or be implemented. I cant see it fitting. If they dont use them, I am guessing they alreaqdy know what there doing and dont need help, or they dont use them now perhaps. Remember its not MAMEWAH. I am not keen on people having to press a combination of keys. The GameEx UI is about navigation and useability.
  9. No theres two. View Controls, and about the NES emulator. Just examples. What I am saying is you can have two custom images for each emulator, which will be available when you select a game for the emulator. Tough week Smiff? Could be: - Play This Game - Cartridge - Box - Add to Favorites - Help - NES Technical information
  10. Not without some significant coding changes, sorry. Although Ill add it to the list. Post a feature req.
  11. Theres really not much to do here as long as MCE loads eventually and the error clears after time. Is this happening, or are just stuck with the error? GameEx just cant catch MCE loading in time if a game is running. Unless its not working AT ALL really nothing that can be done with the current version of MCE. Does it clear up, or is is not working at all?
  12. I like the idea of showing emulator information. How about this: when showing the game info for a game. ie where add to favorites is etc, how about having two optional custom list items, which can display an image of choice based on the emulator number (not the rom). The image will display much like the artwork does, as a image in the corner, and the option to view full screen by selecting. Like This Super Mario Brothers - Play This Game - Cartridge - Box - Add to Favorites - View Controls - About the NES Emulator I am keen to do this, and this really is not to do hard this way. Looks like it will fit in perfect like this. Who's in favor? Cheers.
  13. Dont worry about shooting from the hip. It is only down to configuration though. Anywhere I am sure there others that feel the same as you, and I still really aim to please with GameEx. I have added an install option in the version just made available which allows automatic configuration of GameEx just as an MCE MAME Plugin, and only the enhancments since v1.x that relate to using GameEx that way. Go check it out. I am almost certain its what you want, and even more. I appreciate the feedback, hopefully I've acted on it well. Thanks, Tom
  14. 7th October 2005 - GameEx 5.13 New installation option to setup only as an MCE MAME Plugin, like original versions of GameEx (eg. V1.x), but with MAME Favorites, most played MAME games, and last played MAME game. This disables a lot of features and configures for the initial GameEx crowd, including removing the startup banner. NOTE: All of the above can be done through the configuration of GameEx, but I guess people don't realise that initially. http://gameex.net
  15. Yes, turn off what you dont need. With configuration it can be exactly the same as version 1. You should have had a little play before posting. Your bad really. Have a good look and your see.
  16. Hi, I'm betting noone here knows how to help with this. I'm expecting you wont get help, just because we dont know. To save you hanging on for days/weeks, I suggest you go to the smartie and MCE VFD forums for this. It may even be a bug in smartie, or the VFD Drivers. Or they just dont get along with each other. Although we'd like to help, your simply asking in the wrong place. For your info the GameEx plugin is just a standard .net smartie dll. Only thing a little odd it does if I remember is check GameEx is active and if not show blank info. Let us know though if you get anywhere. EDIT: It would probably be possible to write a smartie plugin for the MCE Drivers, and have a setting in the MCE Drivers to use Smartie so smartie and the drivers dont clash. Again no point asking for someone to code that here. It would require the programmer/s of the MCE Drivers to do this. You could put in a request wherever those guys are located at I spose. Cheers.
  17. I can think of a workaround for this that should work. Hopefully you can follow: Create an advanced emulator config file. For Process1 put the epsxe process name. For the normal emu config (not advanced), tell it to send a random key at startup that does nothing in epseecutor or epsxe like "h". Set the wait before keys in the normal emu config to say 10 seconds. This will give epsxe chance to load up, once its loaded it wont exit because GameEx is waiting for the process1 defined in the advanced config. Give it a go. Others feel free to help. Cheers.
  18. Hi, I'm pretty sure this issue is with MAME and not the screensaver, you could try a different build, perhaps not MAME32FX if that's what your using.
  19. MAMu_, I've just tested with MAME Plus, it works fine with the latest stable build, I see where your coming from but just add -skip_gameinfo to the command line. Theres no need to send the select key from the MAME Screensaver. Its that simple. Cheers.
  20. Can you check out the version I just uploaded to this forum. Let me know if it works. I've never really tested MAME Plus. What your saying there is an additional screen in MAME Plus, that asks you to press ENTER??
  21. This also sends {ENTER} to hopefully bypass screens in MAME Plus. Please test, see if it works with MAME Plus, and does not break with other builds. I have no time to test at the mo. Cheers.
  22. Not too sure off hand without a little more digging. Can you please provide the gameex log for a machine that is doing this, along with the version and build of MAME you are using. It may be its just a bug with whatever MAME build your using. Dont know for sure, but it would be worth playing with different versions etc.
  23. No worries, thanks for posting back. That way I know its not a bug
  24. Thanks for letting me know.
  25. Yes, there should be a setting under Display settings in the standard Configuration application (might be on the next or more page). Dont expect every emulator to work on a secondary monitor though.
