  1. It's a highly requested feature which I plan on doing soon....
  2. 5th February 2006 - GameEx 5.50 Enhancements A new theme with two variations is now included - "MCE Glossy" and "Default New". Many thanks to Alan R. The MCE Glossy theme really is something special and worth the download. There is a new theme picker available right within GameEx to allow you to preview themes and change on the fly. GameEx now plays a "Please Wait" animation when its performing tasks that are going to take several seconds. Its now possible to continue playing music after launching an emulator, and its possible to skip go to previous and stop the Jukebox music while running an emulator. GameExtender Viewer application has been optimized to run faster. Fixes Fixes attract mode when its set just to play videos GameExtender Viewer now resizes correctly when the resolution is changed Fixes Jukebox not disabled when installing for MCE or Games only usage. [*]Changes Replaced the rectangular blue GameEx logo in all themes.
  3. Normally this kind of thing is solved by adjusting your controls on your monitor to find the sweet spot. Put it this way I've had two cabs now, and I never get every single resolution to work perfectly. Nothing to do with GameEx its an entirely physical hardware thing with Arcade Monitors. You can stop GameEx using certain ArcadeVGA resolutions by editing data\arcadevga.txt but it kind of kills the point of you having an arcade monitor and ArcadeVGA card. Centipede is running like it did on the original hardware resolution. If it does not run at the resolution it will run at a different one, and be stretched, and not look as good. I know GameEx makes all this look simple and I get a few questions like this, but using an ArcadeVGA card and Arcade Hardware is something actually quite technical, requiring a lot of tweaking and investigation regardless of GameEx.
  4. Can you explain 'doesnt fit'?
  5. Thanks for reporting ill check them out.
  6. Screenshot archive is available again. See here: http://localarcade.com/screenshotarchive/
  7. lol Thanks so much for your support guys. I hope to keep it up!
  8. 31st January 2006 - GameEx 5.48 After listening to some feedback (and criticism), and so everyone can fully evaluate all features, the only feature that requires registration of GameEx - GameExtender (one of the many non emulation related features of GameEx), can now be used on initial start of GameEx for several minutes for non registered users. GameExtender now also features logging to help me troubleshoot and support your problems.
  9. You can. search the forum for "Powerstrip". Pretty much mandatory software for real TV use. You can also set MAME to always run at a certain resolution, by default it switches. Also, don't forget the deadzone settings in GameEx
  10. Only other thing I could think it could be is the jukebox playing it, either as the only media file in Windows Media Player Library, or the only file in the playlist file or directory. Either the Jukebox playing it or the Arcade Ambience track is set to the ping sound. So check Windows Media Player and the audio settings in GameEx config. It would be bizzare if it's that, but similar thing have been known!
  11. Thanks a lot for that info Amos, I really had no idea when people were asking me why it was not appearing. I'll add it to the FAQ. Cheers. Tom
  12. BTW The error log above appears to be something else completly unrelated to Daphne. Check your theme for starters.
  13. Because theres tons of MAME snaps already created by people to a much higher standard and widely avaialable to download. It's pointless to add this feature IMHO. http://www.mameworld.net also just produced a whole set of snaps for MAME. Just download a set from there or from elsewhere!
  14. Welcome back Vynce, just out of pure interest and curiosity what made you switch and then come back? I have spent a lot of time looking at the issue, I even took the turn to modify the sound routines to be cleaner in the code, something I had not got round to previously. GameEx should really never play a soundfx is sound is disabled, I checked the whole code it just should not happen. I also checked the code for system beep commands and found none that wernt commented out. Sorry, you might have to bite the bullet and rebuild the OS. If its not a hardware or driver issue that should hopefully do it. Cheers, Tom.

For each emultor config there is an option to specify an advanced emulator config file. Look at your emulator config in the GameEx configuration file and the advanced config setting. ZSnes V2 is an example included with GameEx. Edit this file (in the config), and look at the keys to send on exit. If set GameEx will simply send these keys to the emulator, INSTEAD of killing the process. By default for ZSNES it sends Q. I am guessing you can modify this to also save state before quitting.
  16. Your system is having an issue with the Font 'Joystix'. GameEx install, installs this font. Because of some issue with your system not relating to GameEx it has an issue with the font. Can you translate the actual error to english?
  17. Yes GameEx has its OWN screensaver. My MAME Screensaver and MNG programs are seperate applications and nothing to do with GameEx.
  18. Assuming you only have one user to click/on the system with no password: Try this: Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users Double Click the ASP.net user and Disable the account.
  19. I think TalkingBull is referring to MAME artwork not GameEx. IE to show a Bezel round a game that is playing. Correct? I personally never tried that so don't know. Although I am guessing your'll get a good answer on one of the mameworld forums, don't confuse them there by talking about GameEx, its a MAME specific question EDIT: You will probably need to add to the MAME cmd line in GameEx config. Look at the usage options in the MAME32 help file. When MAME32 is launched from GameEx, ie the command line, it does not use settings set in the MAME32 gui, it uses mame.ini Cheers, Tom
  20. There was never an option there for MAME games.
  21. I can see the problem now. It's because youv'e commented out some of the mappings. Probably wernt the greatest idea, but by default GameEx will assign to button 0 if it cant find the setting in the ini.
  22. Thanks Wrench. Nothing should have changed to the affect, that option has been there for at least a year. There should be a setting called Audio mode under the screensaver settings. Select the second item in the drop down. Not sure why it changed for you.
  23. The emulator issue is now fixed in 5.47. Go grab it. Thanks for reporting it
  24. This is now fixed in 5.47 go grab it.
  25. Hi, nothing I am aware of yet. Can you post your GameEx.ini? Cheers.
