  1. I'm not going to change the way it works any time soon as generally it all works pretty well, and GameEx still needs to sleep during its loop as it does other stuff too. Any simple source code would be helpful for future use though, especially if in c# or vb.net Thanks. Tom.
  2. Yes that would work. My code does pause and resume MAME, so if you say MAP the P key in MAME itself to something else, then GameEx could succsesfully monitor the P Key. GameEx can monitor keys used by MAME but you have to hold the key down, as MAME captures the key while GameEx is sleeping (CPU Sleep). Would that work for you??
  3. For anyone displaying windows on a TV: The software program Powerstrip is likely invaluable, although modern ATI and NVidia software sometimes do enough of a job. Here is the link to Powerstrip. At least evaluate it for free to see if it's what you need. In addition don't forget the deadzone settings available in GameEx for final tweaking: http://entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm Ideally for the best setup you will want to setup a resolution native to your TV, whether NTSC or PAL. Not sure off hand what these are though. Tom
  4. Should be out Today. It seems to be working perfectly now after a fair bit of work. I just need to make the key programmable and that's it. It has to be a key not used by MAME because of the way I capture input, so P won't work, but anything else not used does.
  5. Works fine for me in the latest version of GameEx, at all font sizes. There were some fixes relating to your issue in recent versions, so make sure your running the latest version of GameEx.
  6. No, but I plan on making it possible.
  7. Only concern, is that you need a keyboard attached to do this. Not sure what sort of key combo to use for cab and remotes, if any. Thought I'd use '9' for remote. Thoughts anyone?
  8. Yep, that was it, seems to be looking good, might even see this released Today
  9. Just wanted to say (again), anything that contributes to the GameEx project or community is activly encouraged by me, assuming it's not going to cost me personally $1000's (me hosting stuff is fine though) or is illegal. Bring it on (in general)
  10. Great idea Headkaze. I had a go at implementing this yesterday and had some success. I've got GameEx displaying the control panel for the selected game after pressing a key when MAME is running. Only thing I have not managed to do yet, is get focus back to MAME. Any ideas or code how to do that HeadKaze?
  11. Just very quick fixes, to small things that 5.34 broke. Just trying to always provide a bug free and stable GameEx, and quickly
  12. Thanks for the donation, much appreciated mate. Just curious where abouts are you in England?
  13. Don't worry we are friendly here, although it sounds like you need a lot of help, and need to figure out a bit more about emulation in general before getting into GameEx. Although your welcome back once you get it figured out. In the meantime, here is a site called easyemu which hopefully will help http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ Check it out, and come back when your a bit more savvy with all this.
  14. Wasn't meant to be a hint at you in particular. GameEx is still mostly a fun project for me at the moment, and it wouldn't make a big difference to my costs, but would take up more of my time.
  15. Why do you think I introduced the nag screen!? At the moment the donations and ads are covering it, don't see that changing any time soon. At least it looks that way at the moment. So all is good for now But I do need the donations to keep coming, and theres no reason why people cant donate more than once considering all the updates. Even 5 bucks is a help. Cheers.
  16. New Tron theme. From my news page: 10th January 2005 - New Tron theme Being a fan of the movie, video game and whole Tron theme and genre, I've knocked up a little theme. Its on the downloads page. Hope you like it. Let me know on the forums. http://tomspeirs.com/gameex/download.htm

  18. 10th January 2005 - GameEx 5.34 First off happy new year to all GameEx users and supporters. 5.34 is the first update of 2006 but probably just one of many. Its only a maintenance release. I do however have some WIP. I've started work on custom menus, this should be complete fairly soon. And I've also started work on something I'm calling GameExtender, which is the equivalent of an LCD Display but on an actual PC monitor/projector or TV. It can be run on a different pc on the LAN, and will display game artwork, and information about what your doing or playing in GameEx. As you can see there is future potential with this for future 'networking' support in GameEx but I'm not saying anything else or promising anything for now (but its nothing to do with XBOX!). But in the near future I see it being used by people who wish to add or have another display on their cab. Once I release the first version of GameEx with this, Ill as usual accept requests trying to enhance it. TV Support is still planned. I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. It will start off very simple but stable, and grow. So don't expect MCE in the first release (or ever), but expect solid timeshifting and analog channel changing. Anyway this is what's new in 5.34 Media controls now show at all times in supported themes, even if your not playing the Jukebox. Aspect ratio is now remembered when restarting GameEx Fixed glitches when Toolbar set to only display when mouse is over it. GameEx will now install if you only have .net framework 2.0 installed. Happy new year.
  19. Assuming you waited for the nag screen, then I guess you must have got an error. If so post your log, otherwise wait for the nag screen to time out. Thanks.

  22. The key combination is not for during gameplay. Why dont you use Create Snaps with resuming, that way it should skip any existing snaps?
  23. Hi, There is no cache that needs clearing. Check you dont have the option to create snaps on thread, in the config under Tweaks/Performance. That's all I can think could be the problem at the moment.
  24. Sorry for the delay. Unfortunatly this is not currently possible in GameEx by itself.
