Yeah I do like the idea of having some kind of chat room. This forum has been so busy of as late with nearly 600 members now, I think we warrant it and it would be cool. Ill see what I can do.

Is it just happening with Favorites?

The official DivX install does this. Are you using it? If so uninistall and try ffdshow.

How are you selecting the games when this happens, mouse, keyboard or joystick?

You can remove games by pressing the delete key in GameEx. Theres a setting to always show certain roms also, under Advanced MAME settings. Not so easy though, you need to specify the rom name.

Yeah I am almost certain its caused by hard reset of GameEx. GameEx saves the MAME game list on exit, and if this file gets corrupted currently MAME favorites will be lost. Sorry, Ill have a think what to do about it. For now just backup the data directory if youve spent hours adding favorites.

Tips: Try a different version of MAME. Make sure Start / Wait is not turned on. I'm normally pretty good about helping folks with little information, but a reminder to everyone, I've spent hours making sure GameEx logs incredibly vital information to help troubleshoot problems. In other words please post your logs when asking for help or reporting bugs. It states your operating system, hardware, installed software and tons of stuff that really is there for a reason. Cheers. I think GameEx is working properly, but could be wrong. Dont know why its not listing all 3000 are you using any other filters? However for example Pac Man is a clone and that's why that is not showing. Its a common misconception to some folks that everything was created in America Besides its been said before but who wants to play "super mahjong porn hack bootleg 2000"?

Nah, Im only an expert on GameEx not MAME. I think there are issues getting all games when using Merged sets. ie all clones rolled up into one file. This never used to be an issue but Mame Dev removed some command line options that stops MAME being able to verify every single rom including missing ones. My advice is to use split roms (not even sure I've got the terminology right) meaning every single rom has its own file. With the only existing roms setting turned on and verify roms turned off, and ensuring your roms are only good using CLRMAMEPro or similar. Cheers.

Its pretty much by design and does it for everyone. Wouldn't call it a bug. I personally close GameEx and launch the config app from the GameEx program group.

If you want do this with your actual files, use windows search. So in Explorer or my computer, right click the roms folder click Search. Where it ask for filename again use wildcards such as *(U).* for USA games. Perform the search. Click Edit Menu, Click Select All, then copy. Create a new folder then Click Edit menu - paste. Then delete the original folder if you want to. Basic computer stuff to me, but I guess to some others its stuff they don't know. Tom.

Sounds to me like its working as it should with those filter settings.

I though this was already stated but - Its not implemented fully yet, currently only for demonstration purposes.

Here is a small guide on the easiest way to update a language translation. Open C:\program files\GameEx\Config\GameEx.ini with notepad Keep that open then open C:\program files\GameEx\Config\Languages\[Language.ini] Replace Language.ini with the language your updating. Go back to the GameEx.ini in notepad. Do a Find for [Text] Highlight that entire section going up to the next section beginning with [. Make sure you dont select any of the next section, then delete the selected text. Now post the entire contents of [Language.ini] into the blank area in GameEx.ini making sure its not in overlapping another section. Then save GameEx.ini Go into the Config application, and select Language/Text. Make sure you select Custom Language at the top. Now update the text, you can also test this in GameEx. When the language translation is pefect, open up GameEx.ini find the [Text] section and select again, this time copy the selection and post the entire contents into the language.ini file, deleting the existing contents first. Now Go into the Config app, and select the language you just updated, and test with GameEx to see its working right. Final step is to email me or upload the updated language.ini, for inclusion into next version of gameex. If you get stuck or have any questions post here. Thanks, Tom

Yeah that would be great if you update it and post or email it to me. My only other options with translations is to pay a company to do it which is not just costly but time expensive. So any user submissions are always greatly appeciated that goes for any submission.

OK, the french translation is out of date. Needs to be updated to work with newer versions of GameEx.
