  1. No problem buddy, see the latest release.
  2. 30th July, 2006 - GameEx 6.51 Fixes the attract mode/screensaver when using MAME 0.107 or above.
  3. Your issues should be solved or at least much less of an issue, in the latest version just released. Go grab it.
  4. It has to be GameEx not getting the Key Up notification from the CTRL key, as this is the paging key. This should not be an issue with DirectInput. EDIT: As far as I remember turning on custom keyboard input will automatically enable directinput.
  5. 30th July, 2006 - GameEx 6.50 New version of the theme editor fixing saving issues Fixes vertical games not being correctly detected with MAME 0.107 Fixes issues where the jukebox was scanning for audio twice when loading Hugely faster loading of Jukebox when in tag mode and new music has been added New feature to have GameEx automatically exit any game after a set amount of minutes (regardless of whether its in use)
  6. Movieman, we cannot support older versions of GameEx. Why are you using 5.97? Please upgrade and then post errors. I'm not accusing you of anything, but you may no why I'm suspicious of you. I'm banning you from the forum, youve been on incredibly thin ice as it is, requesting roms on numerous occasions, having an attitude on occasions, and requiring more support than anyone else ever has on this forum. I dont think anyone would have put up with you for so long. You may not be doing what I think your doing, but I'm still banning, long overdue. Sorry. EDIT: If your a registered user, or do register then I'll reenable your account.
  7. Hi, the jukebox scanning was changed a little in version 6.19, but this was meant to be an optimisation, and this was only where it checked to see if there new songs and not adding them. If using the windows media player mode, it loads the data from the wmp library every time. If your adding new cd's this will be quicker in your case, but the new music needs to be added to WMP. The file tag method rescans your entire music collection every time a new song is added and gets the tags, and it rescans everything so this can easily take 30 minutes or more. I think what I will do is perhaps make it only scan for new music in the next release. I think that would make fix the issue. I still dont think the version upgrade would affect this.
  8. Hi, the update issue was a problem a few versions back, but I'm not too sure why the Jukebox is any slower than what it was in 6.28, nothing has changed in the Jukebox since then. You could try switching the jukebox mode to file tag mode or visa versa. Initially the tag mode will deffinitly take a long time, but unless you add new music it should be quicker subsequently. I do realise there is a problem with scanning when you have a lot of songs.
  9. Hi, You can turn off the skip disclaimer, its one of the first settings under Advanced MAME settings in the config, but yes sounds like it might be GameEx sending OK over and over.

    Game Extender

It displays the same as is shown on the GameEx Live page: http://tomspeirs.com/gameEx/live.aspx
  11. Does it work with MAME? Works for me.

    Game Extender

GameExtender runs when GameEx is running, and runs on the IP address and port that you specify. So open the port specified. I think the default is 8383. The question really is how do you want to use it, either on the same PC on a second monitor in which case you can specify of 127.0.01 or on your local network to perhaps your laptop etc, then you need to specifiy the IP address of the network card of the PC gameex is running on and if using a personal firewall open up the port. If you want to have it enabled across the interent it gets a little complex, and your probably better doing some reading elsewhere.

    How Long?

hi, I got your email, and you should have recevied it several days back. If not let me know, but reminder to everyone, if I'm up and around its normally within the hour, but it can take up to a day because of time zone differences.
  14. Hi, I apologise, and I do intend to look at this. Although it was my intention to have automatic emails as I liked it so much on the previous google group. I also hoped it would make things more active and more of community. Ill post a support request to Invision shortly, and find ot what changed in the upgrades. There should be an easy way for folks to turn it off and it should be in a sticky I'm thinking. Tom
  15. Hello all, I'm back from my vacation, and sorry I only had very limited access to anything, and theres been loads of posts I could not respond to. I am sure the forum regulars and gameex gurus have doing a great job helping though. If any support requests (not feature reqeusts) specifically need my attention, can I ask that you please bump them. Thanks. Tom.
  16. Its supposed to do it already, but I think you found a bug. It seems it was not working if using an advanced emulator config, and had joystick mapping or mouse emulation enabled. Do you have that on?
  17. Is the selector bar animation running slow or normal? How much RAM do you have in your system?
  18. This may be related to GameEx hunting for snapshots like you mentioned in your other post. What you dont say above crucially though is in what screens the slow down is occuring, if its just while in the game lists and the start page etc is not affected that could be why. You also say slow but you may mean just unresponsive, but is everything in GameEx slow? Are the menu animation transitions smooth? Read the sticky about performance, and try turning off the find snapshots option, or make sure the snapshots match the game names.

    Alt+Tab

OK, I think that may have been intentional on my part, sorry. It should still only take a couple of seconds though, and not wait for the nag screen. If its waiting for the nag screen and taking more than a few seconds then that is a bug, but it is supposed to be showing the nag screen now, sorry.
  20. Just in case you missed it, this is fixed in the latest release.
  21. It's working fine for me, and I can't really think of anything that would have caused that. What version did you upgrade from and what version of MAME are you using? Did you change your version of MAME at the same time?
  22. Tom Speirs

    Alt+Tab

Can you explain what you mean by "Reset"? It appears to be working as it always has to me. I know it resets the jukebox/radio but its always done that.
  23. 18th July, 2006 - GameEx 6.49 Quicker startup Fixes MAME categories with periods "." not being listed Fixes goodmerge support when games are unzipped and are read only Improved screen positioning and sizing at High Definition resolutions Compatible with latest MAME XML game list output
  24. Tom Speirs

    Alt+Tab

With full screen applications such as games etc it also normally does the equivalent of minimize.
  25. Tom Speirs

    Alt+Tab

Thanks for reporting, the Alt+Tab issue will be fixed in the next release. I'm happy with the theme picker, you say "Now", has something changed for you? Seems to be doing what its always been doing when changing themes to me.
