  1. Is what for?
  2. 24th August, 2006 - GameEx 6.58 Various optimizations and non cosmetic fixes that may make GameEx run a little a faster, startup faster and return from games a little faster. Please let me know if you notice improvements Fixes games missing from the end of emulators lists The last and most played games now only show at the top of an emulator list if theres more than 25 items Radio stations now load on a thread, so there is no waiting or long pause when loading stations. They will start to play when complete For non theme editor themes theres an additional animation when an item is selected on the first start page where the selected item zooms in a little GameEx will not exit with an error if an emultor is not setup correctly but will just disable the emulator and log the error When paging through long lists after a while GameEx will start paging two pages at a time I think that's everything. Enjoy
  3. Hi yeah, it was reported a few days ago, it will be fixed in the next release. Thanks, Tom
  4. Hi Nivo, its the FE and theme, I'm aware of it. The theme your using is a Version 1 theme and was designed to be used at a fixed resolution full screen. I doubt this will be rectified any time soon.
  5. OOPS, yep Ill get it fixed. I'm already working on the next release. Tom
  6. Yeah it should be there. Is the cd playable in windows media player and showing the track and album information?
  7. Are you a registered user, if not you dont have cd ripping. Problem with connection was temporary, thats how the internet is.
  8. Did you select the playlist menu and click rip the cd?
  9. 20th August, 2006 - GameEx 6.57 Jukebox Enhancments: Can now view albums by artist Can now add all tracks to playlist queue without clearing When loading an emulator your last played game and 5 most played games will be listed at the top seperatly
  10. MOVED
  11. No, no changes to radio functionality for a long time. Must be something else.
  12. Just wanted to say for the benefits of new users: Please check out the Pinned Feature request topic. Feature requests are actively encouraged. Even if your freeloading If you look at the completed feature request topic, far more have been completed than are currently outstanding. Go ahead, nothing to loose, and you may get a GameEx version just for you! Also wanted to say thanks for all the regulars and old timers who have helped maked this project almost all it can be. Still plenty to come though I hope. Hope your enjoying the weekend.
  13. Look at the PC Mouse Games advanced emulator config. GameEx does now have the ability to emulate the mouse with a joystick. Its specifically for use for these kind of emulators. Take a look at the advanced emulator config, and let us know if you need more help, although myself Ive not setup that emulator.
  14. Hi Headkaze, for the rotation I do manipulate the memory. For straight memory copy I use bitblt, I think thats gotta be quicker than manipulating memory but dont know for sure. Only thing with manipulating the memory I found is the directdraw surfaces cannot be in video memory, otherwise its incredibly slow. Also for the MNG videos this has to use DC's and API BlitBlt. EDIT: By the way that articles been on the site for ages, in fact thats where it probably came from Although, if you do spot other reviews or sites about GameEx please do let me know, including things like docs not in english. On the GameEx site on the extras page, yourll see links to what I have already. Please let me know if theres anything else out there I should be aware of. Also if you want to add a comment for the comments page, please drop me a mail. Its always best though if I can have a name, and site if there is one, but not required. Cheers. Tom
  15. I'm thinking probably not at the moment, as GameEx uses LCD Smartie for output and this seems to have its own software which will likely conflict.
  16. Hey, no deffinitly did not want to cause any problems, maybe the tone came across in my message. I just got a little frustrated perhaps because this was a MAME issue rather than GameEx issue, and I have so much else going on trying to earn ends meat. I do deffinitly like to get a heads up on issues with new MAME releases, but mainly only when its going to be helpful to the project and its not just a support request. Anyway, deffinitly no problems as far as I am concerned. This is always supposed to be about fun, for me and for you folks. I dont want to put you folks off posting anything. Its probably my fault, I should have just kept out of the thread. I always have that option Anyway have fun.
  17. Why are you all using Beta versions? Was there some major breakthrough in u3 or something? Its sound like it might be some kind of bug in MAME, but you didnt say what happened when you ran runitgame.bat? If it dont run, either its a bug in MAME, or they removed one of the command line options above or something.
  18. Try this:, after launching a failed mame game, exit GameEx. Got to C:\program files\gameex\data Edit RunItGame.bat with notepad. add a new line on the end, and put PAUSE Save the file, now run it. As long as your running Vanilla MAME you should see the error from MAME.
  19. 16th August, 2006 - GameEx 6.56 Updated default themes thanks to Amos New Spinner MAME games list, listing dial and wheel games New Trackball MAME games list NOTE: Auto update wont download the updated themes. So yourll need to do a manual install to get the new and updated images. Sorry about that, Ill try to get that fixed in the future. Thanks.
  20. Yeah, the fix was actually for another issues with creating videos, which I broke a few versions back. I have looked into your issue in the code, but really cannot see what the issue could be. Its very strange. Does GameEx work ok normally? Do you get as far as the message box asking to confirm?

    For Amos

Hi Amos, I could really do with your help. Im going to be adding mame lists for both spinner and trackball games. Thats easy enough, but I need some logos for them. Your the Guru of GameEx themes, and I was hoping you could do an update for the MCE glossy theme and also provide a couple of generic logos (or modify some photos out there) for the other themes. Can you help out? Id really appreciate it. Thanks, Tom.
  23. I dont even know what a Vista media strip is!
  24. Its not like 7zip support, they just all show in one list. You need to make sure VerifyRoms is turned on then update the list. You should then see the clones. Not sure if yourll see the sets. Also I may have the terminlogoy wrong. Ane yes, thats all there is, you will see no difference. Its just that merged roms are now supported, so in other words you see the clones, if your using merged roms.
  25. Just wanted to add, have you guys tried using the Jukebox in file tag mode? this should take a long time first load, but subsequently be quicker than WMP. To be clear if you use File Tag mode GameEx wont use WMP at all for scanning, and it does not use WMP to play audio anyway already. GameEx does require WMP 9 or 10 to be installed though. Edit: Theres also various software available to rename/create your ID tags based on folder/filename
