I think it depends, how you use GameEx. As many gamers tend to use LCD in their cabs, weecades, bartops, htpc´s.. this can be a usefull feature. I dont need it, but as long as you can turn off / on features, I dont care and see it like a benefit or a extra plus for GameEx. You guys are really amazing.

10 years no witchin´and bitchin´. 10 years pure Retro fun. another 10 years and GameEx itself, will be Retro... hell, yes

Can only agree with stigzler, it is bundled and you need just to activate it through the Plugin-Manager. Dont know if point 4 and 5 of your list will work, but the rest is possible to do. MAME is easy, as there are lists for lighting the right buttons for each game, but all other stuff needs to be done by yourself. I hope you have LED light buttons, as in my case I was not aware of my buttons and realized way to late that they had lightbulbs . I needed a extra poweramp for them, as my pacdrive didnt had enough power (because USB 500ma only) to light them. The good thing is, my fingers will never be freezing while playing . Its a nice thing and I never regret it to have. Ben aka headkaze did a awesome job with the LCD plugin and its funny to play with it.

You also need to update your MAME list.... this option is found in the MAME section of GameEx (where the show "all games", "show 4player games" etc. is) and is on the bottom (last item). Its not enough to just set the catver.ini path in the setup-wizard and I agree with nullPointer... there must be at least some entries.

Sad to hear that it dont work for you. Like I said, I can only test with Resident Evil and I did setup Dolphin in like 10min. What for do you need that .BAT files? I dont get it sorry The commandline can only work, if everything is setup properly i.e. you specify the romfolders (scan subfolders enabled), workpath for Dolphin etc. In my case, the romfolder contains 2x .gcm files for Resident Evil and they appear in my GameEx-List. I can start disc1 with that mentioned commandline. When I press escape, game exits, Dolphin quits, image unmounts and I am back in GameEx. But ok, i am not with windows8 and if that is the cause for your problem, i just know one more reason, why i will not upgrade to win8 . Maybe that link from Adultery will work for you. I am at my wit´s end, at least it works for me, without that hassle.

I think your commandline for Dolphin is problematic, as you point straight to Dolphin with a path in quotes "Q:\Emulators\Dolphin\Dolphin.exe". Normally you would browse the working-path to where Dolphin is, that way GameEx knows where your Dolphin lies on your harddisk. A normal Dolphin commandline looks like this: Dolphin.exe -e "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" There are no path in quotes as you see. Define the workpath for Dolphin in the Emulator Setup Section and use the above commandline. I am on Windows 7 too and i dont need to kill anything. As the only difference to your setup, is the commandline, i would guess that this is the problem, as it seems you didnt define the workpath for your Dolphin emulator and GameEx for sure, needs to know this.

I am glad to hear, that your problem is gone, but I am still sure, that your graficscard in your cab setup (Radeon HD 3800 series) is capable to do 1920x1200, this is even from the AGP specs (which is a really old grafics-port): Two integrated dual-link DVI display outputs Each supports 18-, 24-, and 30-bit digital displays at all resolutions up to 1920x1200 (single-link DVI) or 2560x1600 (dual-link DVI)Is your 32" LCD a TV or a monitor? It may have to do with refresh rates, that you only got 1366x768. If you can, try to hook up your cab-pc to your 40" Plasma and see if you can push the 1920x1080. However, I am pretty sure, this can be solved.

Check also the "Input Section" of the setup-wizard and there, under Global Exit, if the "Enable Escape Key Exit" is enabled. At least, all these settings work for me. Just for clarify, you can start a game through GameEx and when you leave the game, you dont come back to GameEx instead you are in Dolphin, right?
-
In the Emulator Setup check that "Map Keys" is enabled, then Dolphin will close itself, if you press escape in a game. This also works for ANY emulator that you setup .

To be honest, i dont understand a thing at all . Please keep that HTPC stuff away it just confuses more and explain me, what you want to do in your cab. Which Resolution has your Display? Is it ´tated? Is it a monitor or Flat-TV? Your card should be well enough for HDTV resolution. I am sure the problem is the strange resolution your display have. Normally it should not be a problem, to use bigger grafics in a smaller theme, but in your case... everything matters, therefore i would resize all your grafics to the native resolution that is intended. First find out, what resolution your display from your cab is capable of. Whats it native resolution? good luck

Well, i dont know what SSF mean, but i tried Resident Evil for Gamecube. Unfortunately its not .iso, its .gcm but it shouldnt make a difference. Sadly I dont have anything else to test with Dolphin. On the other side, everything did worked as expected. Daemon Tools mounted disc1 and after leaving the game/Dolphin with escape, it unmounts disc1. Only difference, I used a SCSI drive. I dont know, if you did setup a SCSI drive with Daemon Tools, because you need to do this, if it should work. It does work for me

Funny, i heard it the opposite way for PS1 . I will setup a Dolphin emu right now and look how far I will come

In the Advanced Emulator Setup section, are "Launch Before.." and "Launch After..." fields... I unmount my ISOs in the Launch After field with this commandline: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -unmount scsi, 0 This is assuming, you are using Daemon Tools Lite off course. Your commandline just launches a game, but you need GameEx to say, what to do, if you are over with your game and wants to return to GameEx. Just a suggestion , good luck PS: commandline for Dolphin should be: Dolphin.exe -e "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" therefore in the Launch Before field should be: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -mount scsi, 0,"[rompath]\[romfile]"

Judging by your GameEx.ini, i would say, that the problem maybe lies in the resolution settings: [General] Xresolution=800 Yresolution=600 DisplayOnSecondary=False All your resolution settings like 768x1366, sound really odd to me. What is your display resolution? Is it really capable of 1920x1080? Is it a Monitor Display or a HDTV (cause it sound like a HDTV)? What are your theme-resolution settings (check it via Theme-Editor) ? If you setup your theme with 1920x1080 or 1080x1920 and your display can only show 768x1366, then you need to consider that your whole theme needs to be downscaled everytime. this can be resource hungry and causing problems, as you dont drive native resolutions. If you intend a Vertical setup, then maybe its not good to start with 1080x1920, because you said GameEx to rotate it. I would start like with a normal 16:9 1920x1080 resolution, as GameEx will rotate it later into 1080x1920 anyway. I think somewhere here is the error. Hope that are some suggestions for you, wish you good luck u-man

Hello Yarselph, I tried my Demul 0.582 settings in GameEx. I just exit with escape, no problem at all. However in your Emulator Setup Section of the SetupWizard, there is the "map keys" option. If it is set to "yes" and escape is pressed, then the application will close and focus will return to GameEx: http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/GameEx:Emulator_Setup_%28Setup_Wizard%29#Map_Keys That are at least my settings that work. So I think your problem has to do with the "~" as a escape button. I wouldnt even know, how you have achieved this in GameEx . Also check the Input Section of the Setupwizard: http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/GameEx:Input_Settings_%28Setup_Wizard%29#Global_Exit the "global escape key exit" is by default set to true. Maybe your setup with "~" will work, if you turn this function off. good luck

Model 2 Emulator 1.1a (From Nebula) - Change Window Resolution
u-man replied to MoggFanatic's topic in General
If you are into Racers, I can recommend Viva Nonno, a System 22 Emulator. Then you can play Ridge Racer 1+2 and Rave Racer. Also check Demul Emulator for even more Arcade Race games, that you cant play with MAME. -
Model 2 Emulator 1.1a (From Nebula) - Change Window Resolution
u-man replied to MoggFanatic's topic in General
it may be possible, if you move your second windowed instance to your second screen and then go fullscreen there. cant test it right now, as I have only one monitor here. If you want to use Daytona (looks like ) , you should try this patch.... it is awesome. Daytona HD . http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=137497.0 -
Model 2 Emulator 1.1a (From Nebula) - Change Window Resolution
u-man replied to MoggFanatic's topic in General
Hello MoggFanatic, You can change it, in the "emulator.ini" file. You can find this file, in the installfolder of your model2 emulator. There are two parameters: FullScreenWidth and FullScreenHeight, change them accordingly, and it should work. Are you trying to link instances on a single pc? or do you link two pc´s together? Its not really clear for me. You can only set a higher resolution, if the screen on which you are trying, can support it. If your screen i.e. supports only 1280x720, then you cant change it to 1920x1080, but maybe I just didnt understand well enough, your last two sentences. -
if you have a running MAME outside of GameEx, than i guess you have a working mame.ini file, because you allready started MAME with a lightgun successfully. If that is the case, it would be enough, just to put "-readconfig" (without quotes) in the MAME Options field of the setup-wizard. GameEx will read your mame.ini then. If there is nothing wrong with your mame.ini, it should all work.

Feature & Enhancement Requests
u-man replied to Tom Speirs's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Thats what i didnt like the most with custom lists, that you cant sort the MAME menu and custom lists always appear at bottom. On the other side any MAME UI is not doing it better with custom list . I guess there is no submenue because it could take a long way to fire up a game. -
Ha, ha, my fault. I unchecked this, to show up in the setup-wizard . Now i need it and forgot about it . Yes, I can confirm that this is working and it is a nice feature. Is there anything more in that direction (other than Daphne and Zinc)? Like use Demul for Naomi / Atomiswave? If not, where or how it would be a good starting point to create one?

Sorry for also jumping in here, but yesterday i wanted to achieve exactly this. As I far as i understand, you mean if i pick i.e. Daytona from the mame list, it would start the Model2 emulator, because thats exactly what i am searching for .
