  1. Sorry to hear this Tom, this is unacceptable
  2. Ah, the good old days when everything crawled blazingly fast in at 56k speeds (if you were lucky) at a snail's pace over dial-up. Who doesn't remember anxiously waiting for the last few graphics to finally load in anticipation of clicking the next available smorgasbord of links? The internet of those days is certainly gone, but it's fun to look back at some of these sites that shared similarities with these early designs. Naughty Dog's site especially reminds me of sites from those days. https://www.timeextension.com/news/2022/10/gallery-take-a-trip-down-memory-lane-with-these-classic-video-game-websites
  3. I know some of you Sega fans out there will appreciate this, so I had to post this when I saw it. "This is the hypothetical Sonic 4 on Sega Mega Drive that never happened"

  4. I purchased one of these along with a yoke adapter a couple of years back and the quality is superior to the original in that it addresses the shortcomings of some of the internal gearing. I "think" a short run of the Arcade 1up Star Wars cabs was available with these and with the additional manufacturing quantity that the overall price dropped to where it currently is. I can't seem to find that info now but do seem to recall it. Regardless, there are kits to convert the 1up cabs to these available at Alan-1. This is a bargain for anyone looking for a first-rate quality reproduction yoke considering I must have put at least 1k in restoring my original.
  5. I've been waiting for these to become available, looks like a modern replacement for the Dell 2007FP https://www.retrorgb.com/arcooda-20-240p-arcade-monitor-review.html
  6. Good read over at Bob's. https://www.retrorgb.com/makemhz-announces-xbox-mod-project-stellar.html Looks and sounds impressive. https://makemhz.com/products/xboxhd
  7. “Yanko Design”
  8. Ah, makes sense. I never played either back in the day, and only played Sinistar after your many mentions of it here.
  9. 2. Williams’ Blaster Cockpit Looks just like the Sinistar cockpit. The duramold cabs are interesting, never saw one though, in fact I never saw a lot of these! http://duramold.rotheblog.com/
  10. The Rotheblog used to be much more active until several years ago when the forums closed down, but I visited it again last night for the first time in years. I had found some reproduction side art for "War of the Worlds", which I was completely unfamiliar with. I stumbled upon this article while searching and thought it was interesting to see this run-down on classic and sometimes very rare games from 2008. https://www.rotheblog.com/2008/08/arcade/15-most-valuable-classic-arcade-games/

  13. Glad to see they went with Sean Connery era bond for these https://arcadeheroes.com/2022/09/22/james-bond-007-pinball-revealed/
  14. It's no secret that Tony's blog is among my favorites and in this update Tony details a Defender cab he picked that needs a bit of TLC. https://arcadeblogger.com/2022/09/12/weekend-pickup-williams-defender/ Clearly a bit of Wilma Deering influence in that poster.
  15. This is a decent kit that I found a while back and put it on the back burner until I had some extra cash. I was surprised to find it locally, but iFixit had refurbs for $29 that everyone claimed looked new, so I thought I'd just pick it up on a future order. Long story short, it seems it's gone from their site now, so I ran to my local Home Depot to grab one of the six they showed in stock. Got there to find a single one left on the shelf. Anyway, I can vouch for it and it if you're in the market, seems like a good assortment of necessary tools for consoles and controllers. https://www.homedepot.com/p/iFixit-Mako-Precision-Bit-Set-67-Piece-IF145-299-4/308082198

  16. "looks" like decent quality for a stamped frame, I would guess they would retail for perhaps as much as $50 ish each. For that price and in a pincab I think it would be worth rolling the dice. Sucks to see people getting taken like that though, It's hard to imagine that people can be such asshats to others!
  17. My guess is a bunch of vendors got hung with unpaid and undelivered orders. I've seen this in the speaker industry more than once, AV123 left their suppliers high and dry and much of that inventory was later purchased or otherwise acquired by Danny Richie who had spent his time and efforts on the R&D. Better something than nothing from a bunch of defunct branded inventory.
  18. I stumbled upon these while looking for some replacements for one of my HT subs and thought it may be of interest. Looks like a crazy good price, but I'm not familiar with this company, "Deeproot" pinball. Evidently, they went out of business and I can only guess that these are fire sale priced until they are gone. GAME OVER for Deeproot pinball New Lot of 2 8" Subwoofer 4 ohms 250w Replacement Speakers/Woofers High End
  19. Great to see you pop in and a nice offer to anyone lacking some of these titles. I have so many games from these collections that I find myself in a similar position. I recall you moved some years ago, as did we. I had no idea how severely this would cut into my gaming time, but once that hurdle started to clear we were faced with the GPU shortage. Always something!
  20. Well, I found a new PS3 Super Slim 12GB on ebay and won it for $200.01 delivered. I had a new 1TB Toshiba spinner from a laptop I bought and immediately upgraded to an SSD and it along with the Sabrent drive caddy brought this right up to speed, albeit spinner speeds. I went ahead and picked up a vertical stand for it so I'm leaning towards getting a spare laser while they're still only around $30. I'll clean up my 80GB phat over the winter plan next steps with it, if I recall correctly its a CECHK01.

  22. Tony has posted a great Star Wars launch story over on his blog. https://arcadeblogger.com/2022/09/04/atari-star-wars-launch-videos/
  23. I see a lot of people talking about replacing the "laser lens" on the super slims, which just seems to be the sled assembly of the blu ray drive. Do you have any experience here? This drive is more like a laptop style drive and I haven't done a lot of digging on it. Is this married to a daughter board or similar?
  24. Well you certainly got me thinking about the what if’s and looking into contingency planning for the long term. It’s already getting late in the game for the PS3, and you know all to well how prices skyrocket on these things with age.
