  1. Would it? The games loading off a magnetic drive in this instance would seem to be the weak link, or am I completely wrong thinking this?

    PCSX2 Peeps

I absolutely love many aspects of the emu world, but reading this makes me think "wouldn't it be easier to just obtain a PS2?" I know there are many objective opinions about this, but I struggle with the frustration factor emu's like this bring. You guys have amazing patience
  4. CliffsNotes: If you're reading this, and still haven't jumped at this great deal being offered, do yourself a favor, and get it while it's hot!
  5. Again, I'm not participating, but watching never the less! IMO, You have done a great job pushing the team forward! I suspect this will build anticipation for the next round of games, and serve as a boost to the enthusiasm for the 2015 competition!
  6. For me with just a 0.154 romset (no chds) the snaps are right at 9 GB. Personally I prefer everything on the root drive, but this isn't always possible, especially if your tight on disk space already with plans to expand your collection. If you find yourself in that situation, and it's financially feasible, I would view it as a good reason to upgrade to larger drives. Whatever you decide, just make sure you have enough memory to handle the swap files without working your drives to death. Soaking this up a bit more, I think I would prefer to have GameEx and the romset's on my root, and point to the snaps on any secondary storage (as I can't imagine this being a problem) in order to retain the best possible response time within GameEx while browsing/launching games. My .02 anyway!
  7. Cool, thanks for the heads up!
  8. Nice try!
  9. Same here. Cool stuff from the man himself!
  10. Sorry to hear of your loss Riffman, my condolences to you and your family.
  11. Ah come on man. that's funny! Dude wacked him good with that club
  12. I picked the lifetime sub for $60, but I believe either gets you the 480p snaps. I was only looking for MAME snaps, so I can't speak for the rest, but have no reason to suspect it works different. In the configuration options you point to your snaps folder, enter username and pass, exit config, and open GameEX. It downloads snaps that are available according to what games you have. In my case it was about 9 GB for a full set (w/o chds) About as painless as it can get IMO.
  13. I heard that, I'm all about saving a buck too. I may print my own too, but I one of m ideas works it will need to be translucent, which I believe scratches the home brew idea.
  14. Looks sweet! Where did you get your artwork printed?
  15. 2nd that I just subscribed to Emu yesterday, and a combination of GameEx and EmuMovies made for a painless installation, as everything that was needed was automatically downloaded. Highly recommended!
  16. Nope, I've never been to Boston, LA, or anywhere that I was aware of that they would have been playing. I was however born in Kentucky, Louisville, Kentucky to be exact, and basketball is king in Kentucky (regardless of how good or bad they are). I grew up watching the Louisville Cardinals play, my dads Alma mater, and recall the 1979 Championship between the Spartans, and a team I had never heard of. Even though Bird had a bad game, he had already made a name for himself, I was just unaware. I was only 12 at that time, and truth be known, I was into watching college ball because my dad was. I have much respect for Johnson and Bird, but enjoyed the 1980 NCAA Tournament considerably more.
  17. Finally managed to get signed up with them today, been sort of crazy here lately. Simple addition of the un and pass in the config, and it was off to the races. All to easy! GameEX makes this process painless!
  18. Score! Congrats on a sweet deal!
  19. I have never been a fan of the Lakers or the Celtics, but there was no escaping these NBA dynasty's if you've ever watched the sport. I really had no idea these two had any sort of off the court relationship, much less one that grew into such a tight bond. I recall watching Bird in agony during many NBA finals, but no idea he was such a introvert. I remember Magic's press confrence almost like it was yesterday, it was surreal. I'll second that!
  20. You guys are pretty close to taking 5th!
  21. I saw this post earlier today, and was just about to watch it, until I realized that wasn't one minute 27 I watched these guys in college and pro ball, so I'm betting you're spot on about this one. I'll check it out for sure!
  22. Another (albeit small) possibliy is if you udated your set via clrmampro (I've not used romcenter much) did you re-zip them after rebuild? If this is the case, it could be files that are shared between folders, aren't being found. <edit> resulting in the same problem Dazzle is describing, but for a different reason.
  23. Hope you have a great day!
  24. Feliz cumpleaños!
  25. Thought of you when I saw this in the inbox this morning.
