I need to do that as well, just haven't got to it yet, this great app makes it a snap <edit> I saw this and thought a new version was released Han, did going to 0.154 fix the Tetris launch inside of GameEx issue by any chance?

[PEDESTAL] Draco's Pedestal Project (It's dead, Jim!)
tthurman replied to tthurman's topic in Gamer Rigs
That design would probably be near ideal for a viewing angle on a TN panel. I would love to have it mounted as if it were the surface, but I'm sure on anything less than an IPS monitor it would look horrible. Depending on the material the top is made of, you may be better off with a piece of tempered glass, it sure wouldn't scratch as easy. Also, if you do go plexi, have it cut, we've attempted cutting/drilling this numerous times at our weekly shop night, it's maddening. Perhaps we are doing something wrong, but as that stuff heats, it just starts doing weird things, splitting being the most common. I'm not a fan of mdf, but for something like this you could route an inlay with a rabbit bit for the clear piece to drop into to keep it level with the desktop surface. -
Thanks guys! It's really cool how such subtle changes effect the overall look. I used the Contra theme Adultery included as a base, and just changing the text had huge impacts on the appearance. I noticed Draco had a pretty wild font for the Pac-Man theme, Is there a go to source for the fonts?

I tell ya, I suck at graphics applications , but I've managed to muddle my way through, somewhat. Looking back at how I attempted to do this last week is comical! I'm grasping the basic concept quite a bit better now.

Are you still planning to use the LCD pole mount for your main display? I'm wondering that if you follow the angle of your control panel all the way to the rear of the cab, and simply mount the secondary panel flush to the deck how that would work. Might cause the viewing angle to be off too much, but that's sort of where I was thinking of putting mine. -
Nice score!

Wow, a decade of maturing and support! How many others can make that claim.... Congrats and thanks !

Ah, I appreciate that Dazzle. I just gave this whole post a thorough re-reading, and I'm ready to take another swing at things. NP post indicated he found the most help from post 119 by Adultery, and I think I'm beginning to get a bit of a grasp on things. Basically use the template to create your layers, save them named individually, and in the same directory structure as the sample themes that come with the plugin, then edit the xml code to point which image at whatever desired layer? Test, and repeat as necessary. That's what I'm taking from it anyway. Cool stuff for sure Adultery, plugin updater is sweet too BTW! Thanks!

[RESOLVED] v13.28 Strange startup behavior with GameEx since new install.

I switched things around yesterday to auto, mainly since I didn't get a prompt either. That said, I played around with the online portion of things on and off all day yesterday, and never so much as saw a hiccup. Just wanted to post this, since I didn't see the anomalies that some others encountered. I'm running Windows 8.1 FWIW. As always, thanks for everything you do! -
A complete lack of xml knowledge. I'm a hardware guy I want to learn though, so I would prefer to try before throwing in the towel. I took the GIMP template you had, and after much trial and error, edited it for a "start", then realized that isn't how it works. Basically, I got my avatar in the avatar box, and selected a different background, the layer under "text goes here"....pretty much left everything else alone, then saw the xml extension when going to put it in the tagger folder, and had an OS moment. I've got way too many irons in the fire right now, and I won't even be in a position to look at this again until mid next week, but I would appreciate any pointers anyone can offer. I fully understand that you guys are swamped, and have your own RL things to deal with too. Thanks for taking the time to look into this for me, I've edited my sig to show your tag with the default theme, for now.

I've been playing around with this, admittedly graphics isn't my strong suit. I took the gimp template and edited it to look like I wanted to, then figured out (I think) that is not how it works, soooooooo I went with the default theme. When I paste the BB code I get a image exceeds size limit message.

Hoping you enjoy a fantastic day, with many more to follow!

FWIW My rig is on the test bench, so I didn't get a chance to update until earlier today, this morning actually, but I didn't get any update notification either. -
I already have more games than time to play them, so I decided I wasn't even going to look at this sale, but caved and did anyway Didn't buy anything though, yet!

I heard that for years until I bought a SB6120, and still had the same problems. Finally after a ale induced rant, a manger called and admitted the node we were on had been terribly oversubscribed for years. He knocked $15 a month off for 6 months, which was about how far from completion the new node was. Once this came online things improved, but I still had drop outs, until finally it never came back. I got lucky, and they dispatched a very competent technician who quickly identified the feeder cable from the curb as the problem. He strung out a new line on the ground until a crew came and put in a permanent direct burial cable. Speeds are greatly improved and stability is like never before. Our line was probably installed in 1991 when our house was built. If they are running loss tests from your service feeder at the house and seeing hot signals, beware if they try and tell you otherwise. I've seen them install signal boosters inside houses to unused ports to draw the the hot signal to them in order to get your modem signal down. They are very creative at band-aid's for sure!

[PEDESTAL] Draco's Pedestal Project (It's dead, Jim!)

Here's another one I ran across some time ago, that I just now found again. The poster was nice enough to post his plans in the thread, should be easy enough to convert. Thought you might find some value from it since it removes that protrusion. -
Thanks as always, the ongoing support here is second to none!

My response to this seemed to invasive to your thread, and I'm afraid it will only serve to be confusing if left here. Due to this, I've moved my design explaniation to the appropriate thread, but will link it here. -
Welcome to the GameEx forums Well, seeing how you used the same email address, I would have thought it would have done so auto-magically. Since it has not, and it's registration related, check Tom's post here for directions on how to get help with this.

[PEDESTAL] Draco's Pedestal Project (It's dead, Jim!)
tthurman replied to tthurman's topic in Gamer Rigs
Well, I finally found a pic of that pedestal I was talking about. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I plan to take some design elements from this one, and incorporate them into mine. This is pretty other side of the spectrum from what you're currently considering, but it may inspire some ideas that you otherwise may not have considered. The design element that sold much on this concept to me is the back panels flared out on both sides in the rear, as it should have a stabilizing effect on any right/left movement, while allowing the sleek look of the slimmer center section. I've never planed to have the front covered, it will be open shelving, so I really needed something to give it that rigid feel right to left. without further ado -
For a brief second there I thought, "what's Sméagol doing in this video?" FreeLancer had similar lofty goals, that to a great extent, never materialized. Hopefully this won't suffer the same fate.

[PEDESTAL] Draco's Pedestal Project (It's dead, Jim!)

I think I'm following you, but do you mean doing it with side art, or well in this case front art, or actually building out everything 3D style with mdf? Honestly, your thread has me going back to the idea of incorporating a 17, perhaps 19" monitor in the speaker panel to display the control panels, or just as a oddly placed marquee, considering I'll be using my 40" LCD for the primary display. <edit> This though could defeat my keep it simple plan, I've never used MAME Hooker or the like. -
That's actually the card I would like to have, well the super-clocked or whatever the dual fan version is called. Do you happen to be running Supermodel? I'd love to know how this card does on Star Wars Trilogy!
