  1. 1. I'll preface this with saying that there have been numerous upgrades and feature add on's along the way, and I haven't been using GameEx since 8.17, but I do not believe the basic configuration has changed enough to warrant a "from scratch setup". That said, you may want to wait around for some other responses before making any moves. 2. Your full license is good for current GameEx upgrades, it will not however carry over to the new version, "Evolution" when it's released. Explanation of Member Groups 3. Check this post for contact info regarding registration information, you will need to provide the email address you registered with.
  2. This build just keeps getting better, and those buttons put it over the top! Good work

    Os choice

I'll defer to those with direct experience on model 2 and p64, but MAME runs fine on both 7, 8, and 8.1 64 bit, as does GameEx.
  4. Stern "The Walking Dead" pinball machine It's good to still be seeing new pinball machines being released.
  5. I've looked into this, but I'm certainly no expert. Unless someone is holding out on us, I haven't seen a GameEx setup using this posted in the Rigs section. I don't believe any major powerhouse card is needed, this guy does it with a 4350. The best looking ones seem to be all using the ultra-wide displays, with this one being the one from the video. What would you display in place of the marquee on other emulators, custom artwork? I think the whole idea has an incredible amount of "wow" factor to it, but in the end I decided the extra expense and configuration was something I couldn't justify. <edit> If you haven't already done so in your searching, I would recommend you check out MAME Hooker too, as it may answer some of your other questions. I ran across this a while back looking for the same information you are seeking.
  6. Great post! A fav of mine for sure, but unfortunately one I still struggle with.
  7. Yes, all default paths. The only thing really outside the norm about my setup is it's raid 1, but this is on 2, 2 TB drives in one partition.
  8. Is there some setting to have it display Steam games I'm playing? When I play FX2 I get a default GameEx logo, and upon exiting Steam, then GameEx it goes back to the last MAME game I played. <edit> it occurred to me that I don't have any artwork for Steam locally.
  9. Sounds like your OS got wrenched after the 8.1 update, it happened to me as well. Check this
  10. Alternatively, you could use this installer rather than the cmd prompt.
  11. Do you have the installation media? If so have you tried installing this way from an elevated cmd prompt? Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:<DRIVE LETTER>:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
  12. I haven't played Halo much since the second one, but just some quick searching comes up with all kinds of possibilities, should be a really cool theme. I really like the honeycomb effect in this one!
  13. Much better, just had a few rounds on the Avengers table
  14. I ran across that Pinball Arcade logo during the developers logo project, but had no idea what they did until I followed the link in your profile. That's cool they are bringing those classics back to life in the virtual world! I'm sure my pin newbness is showing here, but for anyone else who hasn't checked them out, give it a look!
  15. Do your version of MAME and your romset version match? If you are running 0.153 have you tried Dazzles fix, and then updated?
  16. Glad to hear that it helped
  17. It appears that whatever was wrong with the down loader has been corrected. I just finished up a round of Star Wars (my best score) at over 5 million, only to be welcomed by Dazzle's 20 million plus score. Granted I'm still a bit of a newb, but I'm gonna have to break out the 360 controller and see if I can improve on that some.
  18. Goto more reply options, look at the bottom menu, browse, attach this file, add to post.
  19. Here's my config screen. Since GameEx supports such a wide range of emu's and apps, for the most basic MAME config with Emumovies support, there are really only a select number of pages you need to be concerned with. Welcome back, and happy gaming!
  20. You can use anything you like, personally I run 64 bit vanilla MAME. In my case I simply renamed MAME32 to MAME in the config paths within setup. I suggest you follow the basic directory tree structure that already exists, and modify to your names needs. For instance I have all emulators in an "emulators" folder on the root directory of C. Then in the MAME config screens just browse to emulators/mame and pick the appropriate folder to what you are configuring to point at. If you have MAME Extra's, your going to need to move those contents into the MAME folder as well, and then browse to the specific folders in the configuration screen to get your marquee's, control panel, etc., to display correctly withing GameEX. For Emumovies, simply set your username and pass in that configuration screen, and it will pull down what you need, and put it where you need it. Just give it time to pull all the snaps down first. The emulator setup is for other emu's and is not required for MAME.
  21. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960438592 Okay, so my profile link is a number for some reason Anyway, a clean install of Steam has welcomed me to a 98 meg download for FX2, and after a little digging it seems there is a bug downloading the installer, only the DirectX files are coming down. I tried all the recommended "fixes" aside from creating a dummy Steam account to download the base game, and then changing users to get the dlc, as this seems a poor workaround. If they don't fix it, I suppose I'll be left with little choice but to do so eventually.
  22. I use my gaming PC almost exclusively for playing these games with the possible exception of FX2. This is just because I prefer to be kicked back in my chair, and on TeamsSpeak or surrounded in 5.1 as opposed to standing at a cab while playing titles associated with these services. Regardless, I agree with U-Man and see it as a plus!
  23. Man, I just logged into my account for the first time in months, and haven't played FX2 since Dec 2013. I need to do some profile housekeeping (else nobody will know who I am....wait that may be better ) then leave a tag!
