  1. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2021/04/play-this-dreamcast-castlevania-game-20-years-after-it-was-canceled/
  2. I've only had time to really skim the first fifteen or so pages, but it's a different book, in a good way. In just those few pages I noticed a good bit of pin-holing in some of the solid backgrounds, hopefully this isn't wide spread.
  3. My copy arrived in acceptable condition, although I surprised it wasn't severely damaged. It was shrink wrapped in micro-bubble pack, then placed into a box that would have held six of these books with no additional packaging. This is something I would expect from half-ass Amazon shipping methods.
  4. It will download video snaps from EmuMovies if you input your account information into the GameEx setup wizard. If you have a free account this will take longer due to the daily download limitation EmuMovies has in place for free users. Unless something has changed that I'm unaware of; and I don't think it has, then the repository here doesn't contain any of these snaps. The repository is aimed at an entirely different purpose, one mainly built around pulling down selected emulators, themes, etc. based on user made choices during the completing the setup wizard steps. Tom has been nice enough to put up some system packs to fill the need on some systems though, but these are not completist type collections.
  5. Wow, probably my age showing.
  6. Want something that's pretty rare and at the same time a unique piece? Van Burnhan (Supercade) has something you may be interested in, but it's not a book! Supercade Timeline Poster
  7. Well, I'll give T-Molding a go on the book, it looks to be a worthy addition to the original (the gutter jumps are distracting).
  8. Woah, that shipping is insane. The book looks awesome, but shipping to the US is much less than shipping to the UK, from what I've gathered from Van's book anyway. At least that's how it's been explained and some googling seems to verify subsidizing of some sort for inbound shipping to the states. Still, if it's packaged good enough to arrive completely undamaged, that in itself is worth it. So is it that much better than others you've seen? It does look like a very unique layout and composition, in a good way!
  9. I wasn't aware they released a revision, but I understand why! Have you ever ordered from T-Molding.com? Packaging on these is always a concern, and Amazon sucks at it....so I'm gun-shy of unknowns.
  10. You've got to become "one of them" in order to understand.
  11. Emergence of Chia Crypto to bring SSD and HDD drive shortages I briefly saw mention of this elsewhere, but didn't look into it. I'm tired of this crypto bullshit messing with my gaming setups!
  12. Took care of that, if you’re interested the next batch ships to the US at the end of April. Right at $38 bucks via PayPal if you’ve got a card that waives foreign transaction fees, CapitalOne and lots of AMEX cards for instance.
  13. This is one I've been meaning to pickup. Tony's blog is awesome!
  14. This is a good one as well.
  15. I've actually got both of these and can vouch for them. I pre-ordered them and thought I had posted a thread a long time ago that had some others in it to. If you snag the poster book, then get two so you can keep one in book format.
  16. Hello Teppy, welcome to the GameEx forums. Could you please post your gameex.ini and log so we can see how you've got things configured? Thanks
  17. It's apparently a popular control panel stand, but seemingly out of stock everywhere but their store. <edit> there are lots of customer pictures in the amazon link in his video.
  18. With the above TV stand combined with this one https://theatlanticstore.com/phoenix-gaming-hub-tv-stand/ your done for under $500 and it looks cool and is completely finished as soon as you put it together. Just add your TV, control panel and it's game on. I guarantee I've invested WAY more in what I was doing, and it become so overwhelming as it went on. Granted, it would have been cool and unique, but you've got to have a lot of time and energy in order to persevere.
  19. Nope, it's just all piled in the corner pretty much in the same state it was years ago, which puts it in good company with the rest of my personal items. If I had the opportunity to do it over, I'd be going this route without a doubt. Plus it would make much more sense from a physical perspective given the extremely limited space I have now compared to what I had when I started dreaming up that design.
  20. I have no affiliation with this, but it seems like an amazingly cool solution and reasonable to me, having built much more overthought monstrosities myself.
  21. I would think that at the very least you could run one MAME version via the GameEx integrated MAME feature (which has filter options built in) and another configured in an emulator slot. I've never specifically tried this, but suppose you could as long as you give them recognizable names and directories to distinguish them apart in the paths and within the GameEx Menus. Even so, it's gong to get awfully confusing and filter options already exist in the GameEx Integrated MAME feature that makes it easy as just selecting them from the menu, Vector Games, Atari Games, etc. I would really suggest playing around with that first in an effort to circumvent a lot of extra work, as you may be able to achieve your goal quite easily just with this feature.. By default, no, but it can be done. https://www.gameex.com/instant-sheller-and-shelling-guide/
  22. Well, someone forgot to tell that to the 78 million Switch owners!
  23. I always knew there was something to these things, no way they would just be popping up all over the place if someone wasn't trying to send a message. Mystery solved!
  24. Yep, they're pretty steep, but if this provides proof of concept then you know others heavy hitters will go after the market. Plus, cheap knock-offs are likely just months away once the design information is shared all over the manufacturing sector over there.
