  1. Looks great, your perseverance certainly paid off on something that's not the easiest thing to configure. Thanks for posting back your solution and guidance, I'm sure it'll be a big help to others! This thread would make a great addition to the "Guides" forum.

  5. Found the below at CDCruze, hope it provides some insight. demul.exe -run=naomi -rom={0} demul.exe -run=awave -rom={0} {0} is a placeholder for your ROM name. To get the correct ROM name, in DEMUL hit File > Load NAOMI or Atomiswave. In the column that says Name, that’s what needs to in place of {0}. Also do not put the full path to the ROM file, just put the ROM file name.
  6. Has your romset been updated to match the mame 0.235 release via clrmamepro or similar?
  7. Could be getting filtered out from one of the settings under the Advance MAME Settings. Have you tried specifically listing these titles in the "Don't filter these ROMS"

  9. Check this and give it another go.
  10. Thanks for pointing this out @Tom Speirs will need to take a peek at this one.
  11. Ok, that explains the head then. I've not seen one of those, but I've had more than my share of the other.
  12. Are you still having an issue? You may have been trying to connect during maintenance.
  13. Nice copperhead!
  14. MiSTer makes this pretty easy, even on LCD's. The main problem with MiSter currently is that it is so young in development. There is still much ground to be covered, which is thankfully trucking along thanks to some really talented people. In that regard, there are many similarities to MAME. I'm tweaking mine to run cooler currently, but it's a very cool platform that is well worth the cost of admission. It's biggest downside is the fact it will likely never have al the eye candy support that MAME brings. The gameplay however, that's where it breaks away from the crowd.
  15. Oh Glad you got it sorted out!
  16. I've upgraded GameEx time and time again without touching the previous installation. It just installs over itself and backs up your gameex.ini to give you something to revert back to if for some reason things don't go well. Even if for some reason something fail to "take" for one reason or another you should be able to reinstall it over itself again to correct whatever it was that went wrong. Obviously there will be exceptions to the norm and perhaps that what you've just experienced. Some themes don't play well though, so that could be it as well.
  17. I'm just wondering if anyone here has a PC CRT in their cab? If so, what's your experience with these higher resolution monitors and retro gaming? I never got rid of my IBM P260, which sports a SONY FD Trinitron under the hood, and now see these topics of people using 19" and above PC monitors for their MiSTer setups. It always was a great monitor, but seemed way out of place for MAME. Given that, it's been in storage for the last ~ 15 years. Even shadow mask based VGA displays are a seemingly popular. The scan lines will make a believer out of you! Quality CRT's in both the PC and TV realm are becoming rare now, especially good ones with component inputs. Still wish I'd picked up that 27" Sony a couple years back, for FREE, but oh well. Check the prices, they are now expensive again.
  18. What happens if you change your theme back to default? Tom will need the regular files at a minimum in order to see if he can replicate this. GameEx.ini and log
  19. The info you're seeing, is it GameEx Online username and password type stuff, or actual configuration from the past? Doing a search of my HDD shows a lot of info in this folder. C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\100 I would be hesitant to recommend just blowing out stuff, but it can always be recovered. Something like CCleaner may get you where you want to be, but that will depend on your level of confidence with that application.
  20. I do not know that answer.
  21. I don't have GameEx AE loaded up to verify, but it should be similar to regular GameEx. That being the case, the GameEx.ini and the GameEx.ini backup (created when updating) are in the config folder. See this post In addition to ClassicGMR's suggestion, you may want to run your OS (Windows 10) through the DISM paces. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

  23. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WORLD’S LARGEST COLLECTION OF CLASSIC ARCADE GAMES AND PINBALL MACHINES TO BE AUCTIONED OFF AS HISTORIC MUSEUM OF PINBALL CLOSES ITS DOORS -- Captain’s Auction Warehouse to Auction Over 1,100 Games From Museum of Pinball’s Remarkable Multi-Million Dollar Collection Of Pop Culture Rarities -- BANNING, CA., August 10, 2021 – Lucky bidders from around the globe will have a chance to own a piece of history as the entire collection from the world-famous Museum of Pinball, the world’s largest pinball museum, will be auctioned off next month. Over 1,100 vintage and modern pinball machines and classic arcade games will be auctioned off over two weekends in September, allowing both live and online bidders once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to rehome the museum’s extraordinary trove of collectible items. The auction, which has an estimated value of over $8 million, will be hosted by Captain’s Auction Warehouse — the only arcade game and pinball machine auction house selling coin-operated amusements on the West Coast. It will take place at theMuseum of Pinball’s 40,000-square-foot facility, located at 700 S. Hathaway St, Banning, CA 92220. Owner John Weeks’ extraordinary personal collection of over 500 pinball machines is housed at the museum, and all are up for bid at this historic event. Among the hundreds going under the gavel will be such remarkable items as an iconic Addams Family Gold Special pinball machine, a Big Bang Bar pinball machine, and a one-of-a-kind Magic Girl Pinball Machine. - more - The auction also will include hundreds of rare solid-state and electro mechanical games dating back to the 1960’s, and a stellar collection of arcade games from Weeks’ collection that includes Atari Star Wars Cockpit, Bally Midway Discs of Tron, Atari Paperboy, three Original Nutting Computer Space games, Atari Major Havoc, Death Race by Exidy, and many more. According to Collector’s Weekly, Computer Space was the first mass-produced videogame, developed in 1971 by Atari’s founder Nolan Bushnell and modeled on a popular space battle game that had been designed by MIT students. Museum Unable to Overcome Covid Consequences In July, the nonprofit museum announced it was closing its doors after enduring extensive economic challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and attempts to relocate the nonprofit Museum to elsewhere in Southern California were unsuccessful. “While it’s disappointing to see the Museum of Pinball close its doors, I am confident that Captain’s Auction Warehouse will steer the games in the right direction as we’ve worked together for many years,” Museum Owner John Weeks said. “I’m thrilled to be working with John Weeks. This once-in-a-lifetime private collection of games from the Museum of Pinball will never come up for auction again. Although the Museum’s era is coming to an end, its legacy will continue through the distribution of its iconic collection, as pinball and classic arcade fans all over the world play on with the very items that made the museum so special,” said Chris Campbell, owner of Captain’s Auction Warehouse & Captain’s Arcade Showroom in Anaheim, CA. The Museum of Pinball’s historic auction will take place September 10-12 and September 24-26, 2021. Friday sessions will begin with a hands-on preview at noon, followed by bidding that will begin at 3 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, hands-on previews will begin at 9 a.m., and bidding will begin at 11 am. This monumental event is open to the public but will require a fully refundable $300 cash deposit at registration for in-person attendees.
