  1. Based on the view to response ratio, your problem seems to have been pretty unique. That or others simply haven't had the misfortune to stumble upon it as of yet, and so it's great that you figured it out. Your persistence paid off for sure, congrats!
  2. Hoping you have a great birthday! Also, happy birthday to members 21up and cs2908
  3. An' when I need somp'in to soothe my soul, I listen to too much rock n' roll

  4. Thanks for the info (my wife loves that stuff, I'll have to keep it a secret )
  5. It's back!
  6. Makes sense that it would be just a manual url update
  7. If you're going to compile anyway, just load up MC64. headkaze mentioned he had to manually keep the files up to date, and I just compiled 0.158 Thursday, and they were available. nm, i didn't keep them
  8. Have you tried playing 1944 on both to see if it has any effect?
  9. Welcome to the PinballX forums buzz880. Always a good idea to furnish some info so everyone can get a peak at your config.
  10. Try Don't filter these roms If that doesn't get it, I suggest you post your gameex.ini
  11. Welcome to the GameEx forums Duglim. Sorry the feature you're looking for isn't available, but you can always request it!
  12. Might want to try out custom menus. Dazzle has an excellent guide for this.
  13. It may have nothing to do with your config, but it never hurts check. Info on where to find the .ini can be found in this thread. This isn't the first time I've read about this issue, but it seems pretty random and very infrequent. I would still post the .ini so the PBX experts can take a peak. With GameEx many times you can install right over the top to resolve annoying after upgrade issues similar to this, but as I'm not well versed in PBX, so I hesiitate to recommend that without some qualified backup.
  14. I suppose you could manually download them, but it would be a huge time eater. I would think that it is at least a possibility that you could cull your set, and the down loader would only pull down snaps for those titles that remained, but this is only a guess. This would of course become quite cumbersome with continued MAME releases. I sort of look at it like the extra's, no way I need it all, but it is what it is, and I'd rather lose some storage space than screw with it.
  15. Some suggestions: Right click your shortcut in startup > properties > shortcut, and under "run" and verify it's set to normal window or maximized. Compatibility > Check "Run as administrator" If you can post your pinballx.ini this could provide more insight as to what it could be.
  16. GameEx takes a lot of titles out of the picture right away, games you almost certainly wouldn't play, and a good portion of what your seeing is exactly that. If you weren't seeing arcade classics for example it could be one of the other settngs, but I see you've disabled verfiy roms, which is a often times the culprit, so that's not it. Might help to check this thread for some other tips and suggestions, but for GameEx, you're showing a large number of titles. Additionally, you may want to try removing the "Japan" filter, as you may lose some games you actually want.
  17. It's been a good run for Star Wars games fans as of late, and Humble Bundle keeps the good times rollin'
  18. It is in the emulator list, arcade>MAME, but as nullPointer mentioned, this is NOT the preffered method for running MAME in GameEx. That section is more ideally suited for consoles etc. nullPointer's third link (scroll down) is the preferred integrated method, and gives you access to the extra support features for MAME that GameEx offers. This is where you will set your paths, d:\emulators\mame64 in your particular case, and as you keep going you'll see where to set your paths to the other directories you mention. I would recommend getting your basic mame games working before venturing into the chds, and when you do, pick the ones you are interested in, as so many do not work in a playable state. They go in the roms folder too, but require some additinal directory structure. unclet sums it up in this post
  19. Disclaimer, I'm don't have a pincab, and so don't currently run PBX. Whenever I'm dealing with sensitive data that I've got a lot of work involved with. I run RAID 1 on the system it's installed on as a first line of defense against single drive failure. Then I create a batch file using XCopy. and then via Task Schedular in windows, have it dump the specified folders in XCopy to an external drive at a specified interval.
  20. Ouch, ever read any Dale Carnegie?
  21. Good call
  22. You know, I've never tried this app, and based on this thread it seems like a good thing. I'll never know what I was missing. 😃
  23. I picked up Republic Commando used off Ebay several years ago after hearing how great it was. It's not a bad game, but even though the scenery changes, the game-play gets a bit on the repetitive side. I have JK:DF2 too, and recall being super disappointed with it after the original Dark Forces. I never saw what everybody else did in that one, but it's probably just me! I don't know anything about Starfighter, although it looks like it has potential, I will hold out hope that these produce enough revenue to make further releases viable for Disney, and that some day we will get Pod Racer. I book marked lots of how to pages on getting it to work (sometimes), and a good bet there some of the same ideas Draco mentioned he already tried. I tell ya, there are times I consider building 98SE and XP boxes for just this reason.
  24. Shark has somewhat recently had a big update, and while there is no guarantee, there's a good chance this has brought many enhancements to keep it relevant.
  25. Already playing a round of centipede huh! You are one busy dude.... How is it?
