  1. That's some serious thinking outside the box!
  2. That's a creative trackball design for sure. I don't know how you brought yourself to get rid of your control panel, that Roland overlay looks great IMO, and one nobody else has! Regardless, the repurposing job could looks as if it was built that way to start with. Hope you get the software kinks worked out in short order so you can start enjoying it. I'm guessing the SONY CRT was relinquished to other duties. What are your playfiled and BG screen sizes? Killer looking builds I'd be proud to say I built in both cases, thanks for sharing!!!
  3. Cool that all seems to be working now. Please confirm when your sure so we can mark it as resovled. Thanks!

    all is lost

Out of curiosity. was the backup you had saved, and in turn used to restore running on the same version of GameEx or saved from an older release?
  5. The steering wheel in the cab before the rebuild, is it just usb?
  6. Both builds look really good! Love your spray booth and those table legs What wheel are you using?
  7. I have a eletronic recycling firm that comes and picks up from us about every six months, and I believe Best Buy offers such a service for older computers and electronics, at no charge. There is always the freecycle network too. I've been getting better about unloading stuff like this over the years, but I still tend to hang onto stuff longer than I should.
  8. Those look really nice! 1920 x 1080 I presume. I look forward to seeing this one on my Sammy
  9. Just to go ahead and get this out of the way, do not change rom names. Hopefully you kept a clean backup of 0.149, because you are correct that you cannot simply copy the updates into the full set folder, as the updates are not always additions, but many times tweaks to the individual images themselves. Tools like clrmampro and romvault correctly integrate these new files with the old ones, and likewise have the abiity to borrow missing files from other complete titles to create working titles from previously non-working status. If your mostly into classics, then the 0.149 set will most likely suit you fine. Many of the CHD's are non-working, so if you don't use them, save the headaches, and the drive space. If you gotta have the latest greatest, then practice on a back up set until you have it down IMO, else be prepared for the consequences. That dats themselves can be created in clrmampro by pointing to the mame executable that you are trying to build for. Profiles>create>point to mame executable, be sure emulator type is correctly set to mame. When I update I always do so incremently, and so I've never tried jumping multiple releases in one shot. The art and all the xtra goodies go a long way to adding to the experience, and configing GameEx to point at these paths correctly makes for a nice setup. You're going to want these regardless of emumovies IMO, but emumovies is the icing on the cake. Together you get the best of both worlds, so my advice use them both, but let GameEx pull down your snaps for you using the automated feature.
  10. Good deal! Can you see the updates folder now?
  11. Happy Birthday to my logo hunting partner!
  12. It's a real bummer that netflix has gone this route for sure. Wouldn't a work around of this sort violate some sort of licensing or end user agreement? I don't know, and I certainly haven't embarked into reading all the lawyer speak, but since the netflix roulette developer already aludes this, I would think there is something to it. That being the case, I can't see it being appealing addition for GameEx.

WfM had a similar issue back in November, and it appears it was an installation that became corrupted. He uninstalled everything, ran ccleaner registry cleaner, reinstalled everything, and to my knowledge his problem of disappearing configuration was solved. nullPointer mentions another registry cleaner in the linked thread also, and also it can't hurt to check installation directories and permissions like mentioned there too. Good luck!
  14. Sounds like you have a great setup on your cab. Hopefully GameEx will suit all your needs and desires!
  15. AMD must be clearing inventory. Good deal if you're in the market for a card though! HIS 7870
  16. The latest update was more directed towards movie database support, so more of an enhancement for the home theater side of things. See this post. Some other enhancements are in there too, but no mention of anything related to this.
  17. Available for pre-order! Ah the glory days for Lucas Arts!
  18. Looking good, and I really appreciate seeing more 1920 x 1080 themes. .....that theme music needs more cowbell though One of these days I'm going to try my hand at theme creation
  19. Yes, but this is almost always a filtering issue in the advance mame settings You mention you're running 0.157b, but are you also running 0.157 romset or still on the old 0.122? Without the support files listed in the "How to ask for help" thread it's really just a guessing game.
  20. You may also want to reference this thread. <Edit> Did you update your romset to 0.157 too?
  21. In the configuration wizard under advance mame settings set verify roms to no Also, if you enable the game filter, some Japan titles you may want get filtered as well. Once you've made these changes be sure to update. If you need more help please see here.
  22. Happy birthday wishes to our very own database guru greatflash! Likewise for time299, whose made available some great content to the PBX community. Thanks for all you do, and hoping you both enjoy your day!
  23. LYNX? Looks more like a crab! Whatcha got there in your pocket sir Then again Mad Catz CRAB 9 is definitely not as catchy
  24. I get all the mp3's along with the m3u file you mention.
