  1. Yeah I know that feeling.... From what I remember it seemed like PA would miss keystrokes down the main tables menu. Even if you have a 1 second delay it would do about 5 or 6 then pause and maybe do some more then end up where ever it wanted like roulette?. If you manually keyed down you can navigate much faster and get to the table you want. To be honest PA is a bit disappointing to me so I do not feel it justifies that much space on the menu.
  2. I did see your other post on this buddy but have only been on my phone so could not respond - (have no passwords stored on it). Short answer is no, the steam version seems to have differing numbers of menu`s` to ok through at each play. The non steam version is consistent in how many "OK`s" are needed but menu navigation is hit and miss. Scripting "down" six times will take you to a different table on different trys . However on the FTP there is a folder called "my working version" from sources unknown (soundasleep?) that has a script for this in it. I did try it but it seemed just as hit and miss as my own attempts so still inconsistant. Maybe it just will not work?.
  3. That`s` fair enough tom. If you think about it russ sold what 125 units, and lets guess maybe half of those peeps have converted over to PinballX (who knows) so maybe 70 people. Think I would rather see evolution done personally than coding time spent on this.
  4. Exactly yes, that one sub menu is a pain. I like PinballX to skip past the one player option straight to the game usually, but with the football sub menu that then means manual navigation again. Do you like the footy tables by the way?. Over time I now notice that I only really play the star wars ones, and have removed the others.
  5. Tom someone from the HS forum has posted about not being able to sign up here and asked for this to be brought to your attention..... http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?34717-Calling-Pinballx-members
  6. Other than just displaying the marquee, I can not think of anything.
  7. Ok thanks for trying tom, if in the future you do fancy having a crack at it I am willing to loan you my V1?. I did similar with macro and donated a ledwiz to him to gain the future pinball ledwiz support. May still buy a version two but just hate paying the import taxes, by my estimation with $19.00 shipping you are looking at £74 total.
  8. No, I do not know who originally created the base layout - I found it on the FTP under a folder called "my working version" and changed it to my needs. I have had a quick play with DJVJ`s script to try and make this work from an .INI, but so far have not got this to work - maybe above my pay grade. Need to learn more about Ini structure I think.
  9. Ha yes it is , here is what I am using - works no better or worse than yours but is a tad shorter:) .... Not originally my layout, but it works.
  10. Guess I will be looking on at you PinDMD V2 owners with jealousy as I decided to upgrade to a V2 but russ no longer produces them himself. This means I would need to order from the states and I do not want to do that, especially with russ only living 5 miles away. Think I am going to just stop being an early adopter .
  11. After trying JARVIS in my gameEx cab it was inevitable it would go onto my pincab. Really its just a novelty for me but was fun to set up and kept me out of trouble for a bit. Think I will though get some use from asking it to play random tracks whilst playing other cabs, then ordering it to shutdown itself. If anyone else as childish as myself wants the media images used you can find it all attached. J.A.R.V.I.S.zip
  12. HA ha yeah!, tell you what - I will bring the cab and you source the Tardis!. Have many a memory I would like to relive. So as far as its level of A.I, lets just say there is a village somewhere missing it`s` idiot .
  13. First of all lets just admit that this is not really that usefull but fun anyway . Posted this vid elsewhere but as it has GameEx in it thought I would post here also. Jarvis can be found Here and is about to hit the 2.0 mark with some more features (hopefully fullscreen). Apart from music can anyone think of a good use?. Think just for the hell of it I will throw it in my pincab also .
  14. Had a look at the log and quicklaunch passes V and H for orientation in mame and should be perfect for my needs. I am wanting to clean up my method of screen rotation as at the moment I split my romsets into two emus, then fire off an Ahk to start the motor for the Vert emu. Then both those emulators are combined back into one within a group. For HBmame I guess that Quicklaunch could pass the romname to an Ahk that parses a text file containing the vert game names? EDIT, that works perfectly and cleans up my method considerably - quicklaunch does it again!.
  15. Great thanks!. Although its no rush really - have no real time myself. One more question, is quicklaunch parsing listinfo.xml for this and will it work for HBmame set as another emulator?. Sorry that was two more questions was it not? (and that makes three ).
  16. Would someone be kind enough to confirm what is passed when starting a vert mame game using the [Orientation] variable (90, vert ccw??) Thanks in advance.
  17. Ha ha I know what you mean, I am having a pretty good day so far so just did the lottery just in case!. I am soo glad this turned up as i`ve been checking this thread since jan to see if anyone offered up a copy - even went through some old back up images. Maybe it would of just been better to learn how to make an animation myself.
  18. Well what do you know, I just put on a pair of shorts that I have not worn since last summer and found a usb drive in the pocket that I thought was lost. And guess what was "backed up" on it? . So I have converted the giff into some MP4`s, attached are some cab and desktop versions of differing lengths that are sped up and recolored a bit. Works fine as an intro movie , but did not show when put into the loading images folder unfortunately - hopefully that`s just operator error on my part?. Loading vids.zip
  19. Found some more time to play with this and have managed to sort the exit issues out. One other feature I was looking for was to have all the game play and tutorial video`s` on their own wheels. I know that you can browse to a table and play the video from its context menu , but I wanted to be able to browse them all as a category. This was achieved again with Vlc but having vlc set to use animations as default for audio somehow made them play over the videos as well. Having another portable install of vlc just for the vids with its own different settings solved this. PinballX is clever enough to auto rotate vids for cab viewing but this feature turns them upside down in vlc no matter what orientation you set by the command line. To counter this I ended up using iRotate to flip them back again as its already installed. Enclosed are all the scripts and settings used to achieve this but please note its not by any means a turn key solution, so you will need to edit and compile to suit your own needs. I offer them just as a starter for anyone doing similar and to be honest more work can certainly be done to clean everything up or even to combine them. Quicklaunch is used to start "Start XBMC","Vlc Music" and "Vlc Papa" with their respective systems and also to start "Close Vlc music", "Close Vlc Papa" and "Close xbmc" after each system exits. Also enclosed are some company logos and papa wallpaper along with a set of XML`s for most of the video`s` on the FTP. One thing I would love to see in PinballX is the ability to have a set of "no table" and "no backglass" images for each emulator as well as the one generic set?. So I hope this is of some use to somebody and again sorry its not a bit simpler, but I am happy with the result and had fun doing this. Edit, Added some more logo`s` to the FTP.. vlc stuff.zip
  20. I think Settingsons is due some credit as well for creating Pinjukelaunch and possibly blur for originally incorporating it into fplaunch?.
  21. Yep seems to work fine for my needs for now. Still needs work and please think of this more as me thinking out loud than any kind of how-to. Think youtube may mute out the songs at some point though.
  22. Having a day free to play/mess with my cab I thought that I would see what jukebox options would work with pinballX. I know about DwJuke and settingsons pinjukelaunch, but having tried it before find myself a bit underwhelmed. First things first though this is definitely still a work in progress!. As a user of XBMC this was the first thing that came to mind and works just fine with the settings below. My cab is no longer networked, but XBMC`s great collection of addons (Internet radio?) could be a real bonus. One thing of note is that I want to control this with an MCE remote, so am not too bothered about cab-key keymapping. The other function I wanted was visualisations on both screens and managed this by mirroring screen one onto screen two using actual window manager, but I am sure other tools can manage this too. I have two profiles in actual WM one with everything standard and a hotkey set to start this and another with the mirroring and its own hotkey again. If having screen one sideways is too janky for you then I guess you could use pinjukelaunch to send it to screen 2 then manually start mirroring with a hotkey mapped to a cab button. I do plan to map the profile hotkeys to buttons on the remote as at the moment the last hotkey to turn off the mirroring is not working automatically so exiting back the PinballX is a bit hit and miss unless you manually hit the hotkey first (any insights?) #NoEnv#SingleInstance forceSetTitleMatchMode 2DetectHiddenWindows On;SendMode Input SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% Sleep, 2000Send, {CTRLDOWN}{SHIFTDOWN}{ALTDOWN}{x}{SHIFTUP}{CTRLUP}{ALTUP} ;Starts screen mirroring #IfWinActive ahk_class XBMC ]::Up 8::Down LShift::Left RShift::Right f::Tab #IfWinActive Process, WaitClose, XBMC.exe Send, {CTRLDOWN}{SHIFTDOWN}{ALTDOWN}{Z}{SHIFTUP}{CTRLUP}{ALTUP} ;Stops screen mirroring ExitApp In the past I started a thread about using ledblinky to have audio activated Leds so will not go into that again in detail. I use the same AHK file to start this audio mode with both PinballFX2 and Pinball arcade aswell as now this. Another AHK file starts an attract mode on exit, both are attached for reference if anyone wants to do similar. Quicklaunch is of great use to start more than one Ahk and was essential here for me. The second experiment of the day was to use Vlc directly from PinballX and again (ofcourse) PBX can do this easily with the settings below. the same "start audio mode" and "attract mode AHK`s were used along with another Ahk to start the mirroring again the second one being started through quicklauch. #NoEnv#SingleInstance forceSetTitleMatchMode 2DetectHiddenWindows On;SendMode Input SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% WinWait, ahk_class QWidgetWinWaitActive, ahk_class QWidgetSleep, 2000Send, {CTRLDOWN}{SHIFTDOWN}{ALTDOWN}{x}{SHIFTUP}{CTRLUP}{ALTUP} ;Starts screen mirroringProcess, WaitClose, Vlc.exeSend, {CTRLDOWN}{SHIFTDOWN}{ALTDOWN}{Z}{SHIFTUP}{CTRLUP}{ALTUP} ;Stops screen mirroring ExitAppThis method feels more streamlined to me than XBMC but you do need to create XML`s for each song. Anyway if you are still reading this far its time for a video to demo this - and yep I know its long, but you do get three whole songs . files.zip
  23. Thats odd?, I thought it was correct. Can you post a screenshot of the right layout. I think what happened was I referenced another install without plants ect purchased so the purchased ones were first on the list. Edit, So my own cab is now no longer on my network so steam is not on this cab anymore if you can see where I am going with this? My menu looks like this.... The script for this layout is included as an attachment. If however your install like mine does not start in the top corner PVS but on the second place (football) then you will need to adjust again - sorry. fx2.zip
  24. Poking around on the FTP to see if there was an upto date set of files for this, I found someone had uploaded a set with a cleaner layout - its still out of date but easier to update. Well done to whomever did this . Anyway I have taken the liberty of updating it to the current menu layout and removed the beeps and some other minor changes, but it works great. I do not think it has any errors - but you never know. Anyway the attachment has the exe and two XML`s , I have PBFX2 as a sub menu and not in the main one so that is something to be mindfull of.
