This emulator is friggin GREAT! I love it! I used the default config someone posted here, but I wanted to add that I found a minor tweak you might want to try. [Emulator_??] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=M.U.G.E.N. TITLETEXT=M.U.G.E.N. StartPageLogo=emus ROMFilter=*.exe RomsInFolders=False RomPath=C:\Emulators\MUGEN SnapPath=M:\Emulator Data\MUGEN\snaps TitlePath=M:\Emulator Data\MUGEN\titles BoxPath= CartPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\MUGEN\ MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash= ReplaceUnder= Capitals= RemoveBrackets= ShowDesktop=False If you have MUGEN configured properly you can hide the desktop. Debug= MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=winmugen.exe OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame=True This is a nice feature to keep from confusing people. DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips= PlayInScreenSaver=False PS - Han, that's a nasty looking torrent. I found one that was about 2 gigs and was really easy to set up. Took me better part of the day to tweak it though. You might want to look for an 'Ultimate' one instead.

I don't know where you downloaded your version of KEGA, but they are not included in the default install. I only stumbled across the feature while digging through Steve Snake's forum looking for something else. Then I had to make the files myself - which were more or less the .dll files with a new extension.
-
You can't access the game genie within GameEx anyway unless you disable mapkeys and leave the GUI visible... which defeats the purpose of running SNES in the arcade cab. That's just my opinion of course. There's no shortcut key that I'm aware of which brings this feature up.
-
Did you know that KEGA can use filters like 2xSAI, Bilinear, 2xpm and Super Eagle? I've been using this emulator for a looooong time and I just discovered this recently. I posted a .zip that contains all the filters you can use. Simply download the .zip and extract the files to KEGA's root directory in a folder called 'plugins' Then, load KEGA outside of GameEx, select the 'Video' tab and choose your plugin from the 'Render plugins' option. I don't know how I missed this option for so long! I hope that's helpful to you fine GameEx users like it was to me.

Well, I'l, post my ZSNES config. A notable point though... If you have ZSNES set up properly, it will not work outside of GameEx. This is due to the change you had to make in the zsnes.cfg file. So, if it's working properly outside of GameEx, chances are it's not set up properly. I have to have two set up - one for PC play and one for GameEx play. Anyways... Thanks Kaze. I'll try that.

Well, the issue is that I'm not running attract mode unless I'm away. I just found it hard to swallow that out of all the things I use that rely on .NET framework that GameEx's attract mode is the only thing that causes this problem. I have reinstalled framework (of course I did this before I posted the first time) and I have not made a single change in GameEx to cause this to happen. All I know is when I leave for work or hit the sack, everything's peachy. It seems to be a totally random thing. I will re-install the .NET framework again, but I'm confident that this will not resolve the issue. Any other suggestions?
-
I posted about this before, but I'm still having problems in attract mode. After a few games, I get a .NET framework error, all my desktop icons disappear (along with half of my start menu) and the only way I can successfully shut down is through the task manager. Any ideas as to what causes this?

Help! I updated to MAME 0.111 and for some reason I'm getting framework errors. Not sure if the two incidents are related. Any help would be great. User Submitted Themes & Media (Uploads)
Adultery replied to Tom Speirs's topic in GameEx Media Projects
For everyone using Amos82's BlueGlass Theme: I like this theme a lot. However, I feel it's kind of missing something, you know? Well, since Amos was kind enough to pack a photoshop .psd with it, I decided to whip up a little something to give it a little more zing. If you want to use these, just unzip the file to the PROGRAM FILES -> GAMEEX -> THEMES -> Default - BlueGlass 1024x768 -> MEDIA folder. More on the way as I have time to create them. Enjoy! Click here to download the full pack. -
Any way you can force resolution in the emulator so GameEx doesn't have to do it? NEStopia, for example, has an ini that I can specify the resolution in. If so, can you try that and let me know what happens? It almost sounds to me like your emulator isn't terminating in the background.

Three words for all you die hards: Laser Disc emulation! Woo and HOO!

Blu-Ray will win the format war due to it's higher storage capabilities. Can you get Blu-Ray or HD-DVD discs to play in WMP 11? I don't see why there would be a problem if you're able to do that... But I use neither (except using HD-DVDs in the XBOX 360 and soon to be using Blu-Ray in the PS3 if I can ever get my hands on one) so I can't be positive.

Can you post you log file? START -> All Programs -> GameEx -> Log File

Tom: In reference to the MAME problem with verifying ROM sets, you might want to see this: http://www.mame.net/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/sho...e=flat&sb=7 Not sure if your problem is similar but I thought you might like to know.
-
Just thought everyone who didn't already know would like to know: http://www.mame.net/downmain.html MAME 0.111 has been released, and it supports 6372 ROM sets, 3428 unique games. Here is the whatsnew.txt of 0.111: 0.111 ----- MAMETesters Bugs Fixed ---------------------- perfrman0110u5gre [Pierpaolo Prazzoli] Source Changes -------------- Properly removes the "Autocenter Speed" from the UI when not used. [Derrick Renaud] Fixed decryption of some NeoGeo bootleg sets (specifically, kf2k2mp and kf2k3upl) on platforms/compilers that don't implement memcpy as memmove. [Alex Jackson] Also updated are: MAME32 0.111 MAME32FX 0.111

I have a font size set at -1 I believe. I tried -2 and -3 (as per Amos BlueGlass and Firebrand's Valhalla themes that both work) and nothing has changed under MAME menus. All my resolutions are and started from 1024x768 so there's no change there. The only thing I can think of that's different is I added another monitor to my PC. I should mention, however, that my cab has similar problems and that has always run 2 monitors.
-
It's theme related apparently. Some (but not all) custom themes have issues with displaying the game info. If someone knows what the heck I did different with my themes Pure and Ultra (and Amos82's Future Retro is a little off too... Maybe these are connected somehow since both my themes are based off his original .ini) I'd like to know how to fix it... If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

Why has GameEx been displaying my MAME game history, create snaps text, game database info, etc. display like this? T h i s i s a s h o o t i n g g a m e t h a t r u l e s . I've been pulling my hair out for a while over this... Like the last several versions at least are doing this. Can someone tell me what the deal is with that? I do use custom themes and it seems to do this in all of them. It used to be like this: 1942 is a great game that involves a n airplane and your mission is to destro y all the o ther enem ies. That's still awful, but the one letter per line problem is just unbearable.
-
You got Madden anyways! Why go back to 1999 rosters? Just MHO.
-
Tom: I use vanilla MAME. I'm testing the update list with verify ROMs 0.110, but I always use the verify ROMs option. I will try again and let you know, but I'm 99.999% positive it works. .:. EDIT .:. I stand corrected. GameEx looks like it's working fine, but the verify.dat process is hanging at 55%. mame.exe seems to be active in the Task Manager but I left it go for a half hour and no progress was made. It seems to me that everything was okay last time I updated MAME - for version 0.110 a couple days after it's release (since I had to run clrMAMEpro and get the new snaps). I almost want to say it was 7.02 when I updated. Hope that's helpful.
-
My bezels all work great. Of course, I'm using the GameEx bezel, but I haven't had any issues with MAME 0.110 to report.

Completed Feature Requests (Moved)
Adultery replied to jr9770's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
If you want to scan the W's, just press W on your keyboard. It'll jump to the first game that begiuns with that letter. -
I had similar issues. What I did was skip the ROMs that didn't appear, made a list of what I was missing and added them manually later. I had a complete ROM set also, but sometimes a bad dump wil throw the GoodMerge system. The only one that gave me that problem was Intellivision though.
